Local news stated that the parents will be on HLN again tonight at 7:30. There weren't any new details in the local news report. Hopefully we'll find out a tid bit or two tonight.

In re-reading the JVM interview with the parents, it appeared (1) news of the overnight guest was fairly recent, and (2) the overnight guest had "stopped by a month ago" and before that, Kortne wasn't hanging out with him for the past two years. Since Kortne had only lived at the duplex for the past five months or so, how did he know where she lived if she didn't tell him? At first, Kortne's father was poo-pooing the male friend, but as the interview went on, the father seemed to suspend belief of what the friend said about not knowing anything about why Kortne was not home when he awoke three hours after police left the second time.

Come on, there are more holes in this story than a sieve! Parents, friend(s), neighbors and boyfriend are not being forthcoming.

Sorry, I can't remember where I read or heard this, but IIRC Kortne's mom or dad at one point said something like "she thought he was her friend." It stuck with me because it sounded (jmo) that they already knew something that made them disagree with that assessment. It could be something as unrelated as, she thought that he was her friend but he only hung out with her because she always gave him rides when he needed them. (Just a hypothetical example to show the kind of thing I mean...not based on me knowing or thinking anything about his car or lack thereof. FYI.) Or her parents looked at the friendship more as him using her or taking advantage of her in some way. Or it could be that the parent had knowledge of a time when he actually betrayed her friendship.

Again, just making things up, trying to make sense of what struck me as an interesting comment.

Thanks, I had not realized this. I can understand hesitancy to divulge what can be perceived as negative information about the missing person, but like you, I suspect that some of these personal details might be relevant in this case.

Some of the information was not negative, but was revealing: Apparently, the missing woman's Facebook account has been amended in the past four days.

I do hope that she is found safe. In all her pictures, she looks so winning and alive.

It's really short, but it is pretty and private. There's also Shenck Park, which I have smelled pot smoke on a couple times while I was out running, and then there are several Game Lands/ State Parks not too far from this area.

Just to show how much farmland and forest there is in this area, even though it has been developed a lot even since I've been around. Even so it is very different IMO from places like Michigan (where I went to college) where there's a city, then miles and miles of farmland with very little "sign of civilization," then another city in the middle of nowhere. At least between here and Harrisburg, IMO...other locals, you may disagree. But driving between here & Harrisburg I never really feel like I'm out in the middle of nowhere with just fields and lakes. HOWEVER, I live in town, and if I run for less than 30' I can feel totally isolated. We also have what used to be a segment of the Appalachian Trail across the river. There's also a couple rails to trails areas that are very popular with bikers and runners.

I feel like I could go on about this all day because I have run (jogged) all over central PA since h.s. and there's so much beauty out here. As there is everywhere...but these are the places I know.

Thanks for the reference...now I am wondering about her tone of voice when she said that. I'm imagining that it could imply anything from a neutral "hey, I don't know the guy, but here's what she thought" to disgust. :twocents:

IMO - if sex was a motive, C.P was definitely not involved. (My gaydar - ding ding ding and let's just say that I am very very experienced in this category.

If in fact, the police didn't just do a drive-by the second time around, I'm very very curious as to why the neighbor (assuming it was the same neighbor that called the first time that possibly has a history of issues with Kortney) didn't answer his door.

Actually I didn't base it on the FB status. I based it on various comments on his pictures on FB - just an assumption and certainly could be wrong!

Just because a person has children does not mean that they are not gay. I have several friends who have children who ARE gay. Some had children early in life and were not yet "out" and others actually have adopted in a same sex relationship.


I hope he is gay. I'd hate to think that she was violated by someone she may have trusted in her own safe haven. ya know?

I feel like I have read an abbreviated cliff notes version of whats happening in this case and have no sense of any new developments. I'm not saying all that have been posting haven't contributed but I sure do hope something of substance is revealed soon from either LE or the family.
