the 8/2 article linked above talks about TS as owning the house "adjoining" KS. But it also quotes an anonymous neighbor who is also quoted as being a "next door" neighbor as well? Does this correspond with what we know about the physical layout of the building?

I think that anonymous neighbor is the neighbor to the west, if I'm thinking of the right article.

It's still impounded. The car KS definitely rode in that night has not been impounded (2004 gold/sand Acura). It's been examined and released. If LE can release that car, IMO there's a reason they have not yet released Kortne's car. MOO.

I thought it was a duplex? TS on one side, KS on top of duplex, older couple below. was it a series of connected duplexes so that there was someone on the opposite wall from TS adjoining KS?

810/808 are a duplex and there is another duplex to the west, separated by yards and a row of hedges.

Plus, with all that was going on in the wee hours that morning, you would think that LE would have make a few trips 'round the block just to make sure all was quiet.

why just do one drive-by ? When do the shifts change?

also interesting that a different officer responded to the second call about 30m later. you would think that the first officer would have responded. I realize that he wouldn't have to. maybe he was there too. just thought it was interesting his name was not associated with the second call.

No. Old brick duplexes

This is the side entrance to kortne's apartment. To the right, just out of frame, would be her next door neighbor to the west.

So she had a next door, wall sharing neighbor (808) and a next door neighbor separated by grassy area - aka side yard- in what might be 812, I don't have my map open.

The buildings are not connected.

Round here, we used to call them 'half a double', not 'duplexes'. Half of a 'double' freestanding house, but not the entire house.

I hope I got all my directional info right on this one. =|

this part of the story seems weird to me. why would neighbors be congregating downstairs at 3a? the people who lived there were old. and if they were in the apt why did they come out and get into a physical confrontation with KS and friend?

That is an excellent shot and yes directions are spot on. 818 is the next house to the west.

Matthew Scott, a Stouffer family friend, told us that Police told him they knocked on both doors but made no contact with KS or TS.

Why would they tell Matthew Scott this and nobody else?

Bad reporting, sentence structure, grammar is so common, that it is difficult to ever know what happened, unless there are quotation marks, and you can't always trust those. I tend to only want to listen to video interviews these days and hear the people say the words.

but we do know the last thing heard was banging or stomping on the floor. how is the good neighbor going to get into her locked apartment to perpetrate this mayhem you hint of?

could be. but remember he just called the police. would it makes sense to murder someone when the police are basically on the way over? and wouldn't the downstairs couple, who have been giving interviews to the media, report they heard a second confrontation.

yeah. it's awful. but the way they wrote the first sentence implied the Police said it and the paper knows they said it. the truth is Mark Scott told them they said it.
