We have only heard from TS via the media, that he has a lawyer and that he doesn't know KS very well, right?
What if TS just wanted the media to leave him alone. The two things he is reported to have said are good ways to become uninteresting and then off limits to the media.

I don't know what his real story is, but when we are accusing him of lying we must stay mindful that it was to the media not the police (that we know of).

I am not trying to rain on our brain storming!

Initially, TS said he heard nothing that night/morning. Neighbors, CP & LE are witnesses to the contrary. Not only did he hear something, he was physically present.

I don't see how that statement can be interpreted as anything but a lie. It's simply and plainly untrue.

To me, an untruth is equally untrue however and whenever it's spoken.

There is no room for shades of truth when a young woman is missing.

Lying to the media is the best possible way to draw their attention.

He retained an attorney a week or two later.

IMO, his attorney should issue a statement regarding TS's initial remarks.

Kortne wasn't charged for supplying the booze because LE put it on her boyfriend. IMO

I'm wayyy late so sorry if this was said. I have a lot to catch up on this a.m.!

He couldn't have been charged with providing alcohol to underage party guests because he himself was underage, according to what I read, KOrtne was the only one of age.

I hadn't noticed this before: dogs (pl) searched the downstairs neighbors' apartment. Downstairs neighbors say other neighbors (unnamed) have allowed searches, as well. With dogs, also? We don't know:

They [downstairs neighbors] said they allowed police and dogs to search their apartment and have talked extensively with police and Stouffer’s family.

...said RS, adding that other neighbors also have cooperated fully and allowed searches.

In any event, would it be some knowledge about what happened with the dogs that have led both the downstairs neighbors and K's Father to express these opinions below?

JR said she’s amazed that there seems to be a continued focus on the neighbors, when it’s obvious to her that whatever happened to Kortne took place elsewhere. The couple believe Kortne left her apartment and encountered someone who took advantage of her.

I'm curious as to why they are so sure Kortne left. If she went down the main steps, they would have heard her. With everything going on that night, I can imagine they would have looked out the windows, too. Did they actually witness her leaving the apartment and walking or driving away?

I think they believe she probably left the building due to the lack of any type of crime scene. Not to say they could not have cleaned up any signs of a struggle, but at this point, LE does not seem to have any signs of foul play within the building.

Downstairs neighbors not speculating something untoward occurred inside K's apartment even after corroborating the stomping and banging sounds from K's apartment.

K was not inside the downstairs apartment (dogs searched inside their apt). Is that accurate?

Would it be info related to the dogs losing K's scent in the outside area? I no nada about search dogs, etc.

perhaps kortne did walk out of her apt - after the second (unnamed officer) knocked on her door.

I agree that LE does not have any actual evidence of her leaving the premises, i.e. video or witnesses. But neither do they seem to have any evidence that something happened to her inside the building.

I believe Kortne stepped out. That's the words I would use. Still in her clothing. No shoes. No cigs. No cell phone. No wallet. She wasn't going anywhere far.

Not for a smoke. Not to grab her car keys.

She stepped outside. On porch? Down the stairs and outside on the property? I don't know.

In any case, it could also mean she simply got into a car of her own accord.

I don't know why, but I am kind of ruling him in out my head. His story about being asleep is too stupid not to be true. He could have just left at 4:30am, for example, if he had done something to her, and say she was there when he left. Why stick around until 7:30? That makes no sense.

From the August 15 Lebanon Daily News: "Arnold said the cover page of a search warrant that investigators used to look through Stouffer's apartment and car indicates that 'kidnapping' and 'unlawful restraint' are the possible crimes being investigated.

'There's a section of that cover page that references the possible crime ... and it says in there kidnapping and unlawful restraint,' he said. 'There are certain things you have to fill out in the form, and that's what was filled in there.'"

You are right, though. The loss of scent wouldn't tell us if she left willingly or not.

Something happening on the deck or back steps isn't all that far fetched. Unless the downstairs neighbors were in the kitchen, by their back door, they never would have heard a thing. Someone could go up or down those steps and they'd be none the wiser.

BBM. Interesting. So it's not totally out of the question for another person to have come back to Kortne's, unseen/unheard.

Have they released the results? I mentioned this on a previous thread...they said he took one, but never reported the findings (unless I missed them, which is entirely possible). My other question is...if they went to the extent of searching MR Jrs car and home, why no LDT for him?
