People being detained and "exported" by ICE #2

I've never in my life thought I'd see Americans accepting and even approving of others being denied due process.

Even undocumented immigrants and gang members are entitled to due process (cf. Lakin Riley's killer).
No, they’re not.
You think we can afford to provide them all lawyers?
They broke the law, entered illegally and they can leave.

Of course they are all entitled to due process. How the heck do you even KNOW for sure they are a gang member if that is not proven in a court of law?

Secretary of State Marco Rubio: 'Of course' all people in the U.S. are entitled to due process

A US judge has already thrown out a case and allowed people to stay because of the govt's non-existent evidence.

Where’s AMERICAN CITIZENS DUE PROCESS?

No one voted to throw open our borders.
I have it as an American, as you do you and yours hopefully, this regime of tech bro trillions of dystopia creeps vs Seven Mountain Dominionism strange bedfellows…who knows who will be on or off the list of the week?

I don’t care.

ALL Illegal aliens should self deport.

Come the legal way, or don’t come at all.

Take it up with the Constitution, not me. From the link below:

The Fifth Amendment states that “no person … shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”

The issue of due process is at the heart of many immigration cases, including Reno v. Flores, the 1993 Supreme Court case that has returned to the spotlight with the surge in family separations. The case led to an agreement requiring the government to release children to their parents, a relative or a licensed program within 20 days.

In the ruling, Justice Antonin Scalia wrote “it is well established that the Fifth Amendment entitles aliens to due process of law in deportation proceedings.”

Our border aren’t “open” (and they weren’t under Biden either, no matter how many times Trump says they were)

Biden actually deported more people than Trump did in his first term.

Trump promised “the biggest deportation in US history” as one of his campaign promises but he’s still behind the goal numbers they have, mainly because his “fast track” policy is running into so many legal speed bumps - because judges and courts are ruling it unconstitutional.

All MOO.

If we actually mass deported everyone who is here illegally, it would cause a pretty terrible economic downturn. Many industries, such as construction, would basically all but collapse.

Trump has also asked for $175B from Congress in the new budget to handle the increased deportations over the next 4 years. ETA: that’s 22 times ICEs annual budget. Who is paying for this? The American taxpayer.

Yes they are entitled to Due Process IAW US Law and the 14thAmendment to the US Constitution that SCOTUS ruled years ago was applicable "to all people regardless of citizenship".

People who believe that the 14th should be overturned or that POTUS can ignore it and SCOTUS rulings, should seek out their own due process and have their elected officials work towards getting a Constitutional Ammendement drafted and passed. That's the process.

Until such time, the Constitution's 14th Ammendment is still applicable to those currently being exported, without charge, without due process, and without having commited any crimes.

^^^ That's the legal way. So perhaps Trump should do it the legal way or don't do it at all?

Every country has immigration law as well as special circumstances for refugees. What is happening in the USA, where people are rounded up, put on a bus, put on a plane, sent to a brutal prison and forgotten, is unheard-of in developed countries.

Eyeroll.
I’m proud & happy to be white.
I’m long past tired of other people thinking I should feel bad about it.
I dont.
I never will.

All IMO
When I said “white privilege” I don’t mean anyone should feel badly about being white. It simply means that as white people, we have historically had opportunities that non-whites haven’t had…for education, jobs, housing, equal treatment under the law, etc. That is undeniable unless one ignores history. And that is all that the expression “white privilege” means. Unfortunately, some have decided that it is an insult to white people. It’s not. It is simply stating a fact.

I am not “proud” to be white. It’s merely an accident of birth. Why would I be “proud” to be a particular color? “All men are created equal.” But I am “happy” to be white because I haven’t had to fight for the rights guaranteed by the constitution, as people of color have had to. But I feel badly that they have been denied what has come easily to me. That is why I was involved in the civil rights movement in the 1960s. And it is why I am currently very aware that the outrage against immigrants from “brown” countries who may or may not be here illegally would not be present toward white immigrants here legally or illegally.

The United States is not the only country that does this. moo
