People being detained and "exported" by ICE #2

The immigrants being deported, have lived in our country for months or years and never applied for asylum. They wait till the deportation order is issued and want to backtrack in the process.

Incorrect. I am not sure why your posts keep saying that. Why do you think these migrants (being suddenly deported) have to check in with ICE regularly? If they were illegal they wouldn't be checking in anywhere.

Starting in May 2023, CBP One became the primary method by which asylum seekers could enter the United States at ports of entry
CBP One: An Overview

Authorities confirmed termination notices were sent to CBP One beneficiaries but did not say how many. They were urged to voluntary self-deport using the same app they entered on, which has been renamed CBP Home.

I went down a rabbit hole today and found out that that old leftist liberal, Ronald Reagan, agreed with me:

One way to stop illegal immigration is to penalize the US employers who employ undocuented immigrants.

From link, with quote from notorious left leaning commie Alan Simpson /snark:

The law granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants, yet was largely considered unsuccessful because the strict sanctions on employers were stripped out of the bill for passage.

Simpson says the amnesty provision actually saved the act from being a total loss. "It's not perfect, but 2.9 million people came forward. If you can bring one person out of an exploited relationship, that's good enough for me."
Would you happen to have a link for the information? Thanks

I do know that several employers in our area have paid hefty fines for incomplete or fraudulent I-9. The I-9 search for identity verification and employment eligibility.

Ooops, I apologize for omitting the link. Here it is

Texas has been hiring undocumented migrants for years, and lawmakers look the other way.

“We know what an important part immigrant labor plays in Texas, and to suddenly wipe out large sectors ... would have a devastating impact on the Texas economy,” said Bill Hammond, head of the influential Texas Association of Business, the state’s top business advocacy group. “We need immigrant labor to do those tasks where not enough Americans will.”

“We begin each session of the Legislature highly concerned that some of these anti-immigrant bills are going to pass,” Beardall said. “We’ve been extraordinarily successful in Texas in preventing that from happening.”

While the deals get cut behind the scenes at the state Capitol, workers continue to live in the vast shadows of the underground labor market, where a “don’t ask, don’t tell” system allows employers to accept fake documents, fraudulently treat employees as “independent contractors” or simply pay them in cash under the table — all with little fear of punishment.

The workers are everywhere: at construction sites, behind the kitchen doors of popular restaurants, in the fields and — when the lights go out — emptying the trash and cleaning the toilets in office buildings and shopping centers.

Not all immigrants check in with ICE regularly. It was not a requirement under the previous administration.

Many legal immigrants, report to immigration authorities, yearly.

The ones being deported, that I'm aware of have committed a crime. It may not be current, it could have been several years ago, but it's still a crime. The current administration is deporting illegal immigrants that have committed a crime, civil or criminal.

Do you have an example of an illegal immigrant that was deported that did not commit a crime? The case of the two mothers, they both had committed crimes. One in 2019, the judge issued a deportation order, however, Cuba was not accepting deportes. The Trump administration has met with Cuba and they will now accept deportes. When she had her ICE interview, they detained her for deportation. She had already had a trial in 2019 and a judge issued the deportation. She could have and should have appealed or applied for asylum in 2019. She did not.

The mother with the two-year-old, was in a parole program/supervised by ICE and they have not stated what her charge was. She had an active deportation order. When she appeared at her ICE meeting, they detained her because of the open deportation order. Again she's been in the country for several years, why didn't she apply for asylum?

There are multiple links, from multiple news sources posted on this thread with the information from the two mothers.

They were legally deported. They were given due process, they had an immigration hearing. The judge ruled they were in the country illegally.

ETA.. the cp1 app was never a law. It was a program the previous administration established. The new administration canceled the program and the app. They notified everyone that had signed up through the app, that the program was no longer available, the program is canceled, no one is grandfather in and they need to deport. This is what happens when we have a program versus a law. Programs can be easily canceled, changes in law require Congressional approval.

"ALL illegal aliens should self-deport."

That's what my ancestors who walked the Trail of Tears said also.
The settlers of America were all illegal aliens, Their treatment of Native Americans is a BLACK SPOT on American History, as is slavery, and the past and current treatment of immigrants.

Side note: I’ve always liked this t-shirt and poster.

Just before Easter, many Afghan Christians in the U.S. were told they had one week to leave or face deportation.

They have filed asylum claims and are following all the rules. They have obeyed our laws and committed no crimes.

We’re Republican and Christian. Trump is wrong to order these refugees to leave.

These are state laws. We also have cities that are sanctuary cities. States and cities can choose to look the other way. Even our federal government chose to look the other way.

Things have changed. The laws are embedded and are US Code. The current administration is using these laws to deport illegal immigrants.

Our family has owned a large farm for over 150 years. We employ 4 agricultural legal immigrants, during the growing season. We complete all paperwork required by the federal government, pay $20 per hour, and provide them a house, breakfast and lunch, dinner everyday. They eat with our family. Some of our neighboring farmers have illegal immigrants, pay $10 cash, no housing or food and do not report to the government. Yes they get by for a lot less, and make a much larger profit, but it's illegal and in my opinion just one step above slavery. It's an individual's choice to make less profit, abide by the law and treat all workers fairly and humane. Moo

Not enough jails to hold everyone that Trump wants to deport .... I wonder what they will do with the real criminals that they want to throw in the soon-to-be-full jails. imo

"Five county lockups and a private jail in Ohio have signed contracts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to house migrants the agency detains as part of President Donald Trump’s effort at mass deportations.

Trump ran on false claims that migrants commit high rates of crime and on promises that he would deport millions.

But mass deportations are a lot harder than Trump made it sound. And his administration is reclassifying people who came legally and asking help from local law enforcement as it tries to live up to his promises.

One way it’s done that is by signing contracts with sheriffs to house detainees in county jails.

Tramonte warned that taxpayers were on the hook to defend the lawsuits that were filed during the first Trump administration and likely would be again. "

This was a program, a way for the administration to circumvent the legal process to apply for citizenship. It was never a law, it circumvented the law. The program was canceled. If you read about the refugee the settlement program, it could pay up to 2 years , and included many benefits not afforded to immigrants.

I'm posting two bills that would make the program a law, from the article you attached. Unless these bills are passed, quickly, then the individuals need to deport. This can happen when a program is canceled.

We must not only pray but also act. We ask you today to contact your members of Congress and urge them to:

Pass the Afghan Adjustment Act, a bipartisan bill to let these refugees remain in the US until their applications for permanent status can be fully adjudicated and
Insist that the administration reopen the Refugee Resettlement Program that is currently suspended so that persecuted Christians still stuck in limbo abroad can once again find refuge in our great country.

"Trump administration officials late Sunday began placing dozens of posters of arrested unauthorized immigrants along the White House driveway.

The posters — which read "ARRESTED" — specify various crimes linked to the pictured immigrants and have the White House's official logo at the bottom.

The gambit is among a series of attention-getting moves that Trump's team aims to pull off this week, with Trump's 100th day falling on Tuesday.

Trump's overall job approval rating at this point in his presidency is the lowest of any president in 80 years"

You are correct, anyone entering the country is eligible to apply for asylum. The immigrants being deported, have lived in our country for months or years and never applied for asylum. They wait till the deportation order is issued and want to backtrack in the process.

I have an acquaintance, from Russia, who was awarded asylum. He said the first thing he did when he sent foot on US soil was to apply for asylum.

Many illegal immigrants enter the country, find a job, work, build a life, have children. They never think about applying for asylum, until ice knocks on the door.

There are many pathways to legal citizenship. I know many that are now proud legal US citizens.

Yes, entering the country illegally is a civil offense. Civil or criminal, they have still broken US law and that's why they are deported.

Moo...
Actually…

Thousands of migrants who entered the US during the Biden administration and used a special app to arrange asylum appointments are being told to leave "immediately".

The roughly 900,000 migrants who entered at the southern border using the app, CBP One, were generally allowed to remain in the US for two years and given "parole" from immigration laws to work in the country legally.

‘As previewed, the administration has set about further militarizing the US-Mexico border and targeting asylum seekers and refugees while conducting raids and deportations in undocumented communities, detaining and deporting immigrants and spreading fear.’

The current administration is deporting within days after deportation hearings.

Many cities and counties have signed the agreement with Homeland Security. I don't have a link, but at a local weekly Coffee with a Cop, I ask the sheriff....Why are we not seeing illegal immigrants posting on the daily FB arrest page any longer.
He explain, the Sheriff's Department had signed an agreement with Homeland Security. They have been deputize and have the authority to detain anyone with an outstanding deportation order. He said we are choosing not to prosecute them for the crime committed, but to detain them for deportation. He said, ICE does a pickup run several times a week through our part of the state. We no longer are tying up our court system criminal offenses, not having to pay to keep them in jail, and they are quickly removed from our community. That's why we're not seeing them on the arrest report.

This administration is used in every tool in the toolbox. Moo

‘In the wake of reports that the Trump administration has deported people seeking asylum from religious and other persecution to Panama and other countries, Human Rights First calls on the administration to stop unlawful deportations, end its 212(f) proclamation, and uphold the laws enacted by Congress to protect people from persecution. The organization also calls on Congress to exercise its oversight authority and ensure that the United States is not allowing taxpayer dollars to fund deportations in violation of our law, and urges the governments of Panama, Costa Rica and other nations to refuse to accept unlawful third country deportations.’

And what is he going to do with these cities and states? Cut off any federal funding they receive and harm the US citizens? Throw the politicians in jail? Things are just going from bad to worse in the US. imo

"U.S. President Donald Trump plans to sign an executive order on Monday directing the attorney general and the secretary of Homeland Security to identify within a month the cities and states that are not complying with federal immigration laws, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday."

Trump to sign order requiring list of sanctuary cities, states, WSJ reports

"Voters turned against the president over the impact of his tariffs, his handling of foreign policy and even immigration.

Mr Trump’s approval rating plummeted to 41 per cent – the lowest for any newly elected president since Dwight Eisenhower and below the president’s own first term, according to one CNN poll.

Even on immigration, deemed a winning issue for Republicans, just 45 per cent approve of Mr Trump’s actions, down six points since March, amid concern over migrants being mistakenly deported and US citizens being targeted by border agents."
