I don’t find it too problematic if he was giving people a ride to work or to the store, etc. I’ve worked in areas with immigrant populations and it’s not unusual for people in a neighborhood to share a car. I do find it unusual that everyone in the car gave his address as theirs. Did he have these 8 people living at his house? Did they have a residence? Did they have jobs? How many people have given 8 illegal immigrants a ride?

In a separate statement from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, officials said he was pulled over for speeding and driving erratically.![]()
Abrego Garcia pulled over in 2022 with 8 others at Tennessee traffic stop
Tennessee police stopped the Maryland sheet metal worker, who was wrongly deported to El Salvador, in a 2022 traffic stop.www.usatoday.com
The DHS officials said the police officers suspected Abrego Garcia of human trafficking.
“A police officer identified eight other people in the car with no luggage,” the DHS news release said. “They all gave Abrego Garcia's address as their home address.”
Either way, it doesn’t justify sending him to a prison in El Salvador.
