No, because I am against the death penalty. I would have liked him to have to give the families a motive and answer their questions however.
There's no guarantee he'd answer truthfully.

I find it odd that a grown adult male would spend HOURS talking to mommy from prison. I'll just leave it at that.

I thought his eyes looked like he may have been crying.
He isn’t going to be popular if he hogs the phone talking to mom.

And for a guy who doesn’t seem to like women- Mom is who he runs to?
Am I the only one that finds that ironic? I wonder what he complained to her about…
He is exactly up crap creek with no paddle, it is raining, and a lightning storm, piranhas are circling and he is in a raft, and he hears a sound- is it air leaking, white water rapids, or a waterfall?
Exactly what can she do? Not a darn thing.

I’m pretty sure in BKs world- Karma is a young attractive petite blonde! Or Olivia Goncalves!
IMO

I’m with you in that so many here think a defense attorney representing a murderer is allowed to treat their client like they are less than human, an animal. They are not. It takes special kind of person to deal with people who are up for such serious charges. Kudos to AT for doing it, someone has to as everyone deserves to be treated like a human and given fair due process.
Treating your client like a human, no matter what they have done, is expected. It isn’t disgusting, inhumane, or inappropriate- it is professional. Her doing her job has zero to do with her feelings for him, if she likes him or not. It is her job and from what I can tell she has done it well.

Some people don’t seem to get it.. if a defense attorney does not develop some kind of relationship with their client, gain some level of trust, and behave in a professional manner- they aren’t doing their job. He wouldn’t have been given effective council, not given due process- and he could be bounced from one attorney to another. Or if it had gone to trial he could have gotten a mistrial and drag it all out because there was evidence of ineffective counsel.
That didn’t happen- thanks to AT doing her job.
If this would have gone to trial I would have expected her to defend BK to the best of her ability, as that is her job.

And, we live in a country where everyone should get adequate council. It doesn’t matter what they’ve been accused of doing, what they did, or what they didn’t do. It doesn’t matter if they are creepy, smell, are disgusting, a perv, guilty as sin, or evil.
Due Process is a Constitutional right and should never be bent and justified for anyone, ever.
Some people just don’t understand their civil rights, or think that those rights only apply to some people and not others- that should never be true.
The US Constitution decides who gets those rights, it should never be an opinion of the public, or an attorney who doesn’t like their client, or a judge, or jury member, or member of the victim’s family. People have died to secure those rights- and when they are violated for anyone- that puts them in jeopardy for everyone.

To me being a defense attorney would be similar to being a proctologist. It isn’t a job everyone would want to do- but someone has to do it, and do it well. It isn’t that they like the arses they have to deal with- it is their job. And- when my ars needs one- I hope there are good ones out there.

AT will likely cease face to face communications with BK now, and all communications soon as he has no chance of appeal.
I expect AT will likely have greater opportunities to serve high profile clients because she represented BK. Good for her

IMO
I don't have any problem with defense attorneys. I know a couple of them myself and think they're absolutely essential to the rule of law. And I truly admire those who take up for people they believe to be innocent.

But where she lost me was the plan to blame innocent people for what Loser did. You can't convince me that she didn't know he was guilty when she tried to throw innocent people into the maw of the social media grinder. And as I've said before, yesterday she could have done the victims of her client's depravity the respect of look in their general direction.

Reportedly, BK wrote a note on the backside of the subject "art object" and gave it to AT at the end of his sentencing.

Clearly, BK is the weakest, most cowardly killer known to Idaho! He slithered into a dark household to kill defenseless young women-- and an unexpected male, while they slept and could not defend themselves. He did not go looking for a street fight with a worthy opponent. He's a cheat, a bully.

The idea that BK would need to carry a prop with him to appear in Court in the daylight hours, cameras rolling, while dressed in prison garb and shackles for the first time, should come as no surprise to anybody! IMO, better for him to have his "paper prop" than refuse to leave his cell where sentencing could have been postponed-- awaiting a Court Order requiring deputies to bring him into the courtroom-- using force if necessary. And if AT's effort facilitated the timely, uninterrupted sentencing of BK on 7/23, I say thank you! It's done, he's done. End of story...

And I especially agree with Judge Hippler -- please don't encourage media. No attention-- he deserves the Casey Anthony treatment. MOO

This has been baffling me. Is he actually infantilizing himself? Maybe from Mom? WTH? JMOO

I don't really find his relationship with his mother all that compelling of a reason to judge him. He has plenty of deficiencies to choose from.
lol, I'll take ALL the deficiencies for $500, Alex

Do we know if his sister who was at the hearing was the same sister who suspected he was involved and said something to the father?

Im confused. She heard Kaylee say someone was there then went to the room upstairs and was killed shortly thereafter?

Seems as if this was never specified
' one of his two older sisters'

afaik he only has two sisters

anyway, taking it all with a heavy pinch of salt. This article was based on ' sources to Dateline' and all of the shows/ media/ authors have published stuff which was later proved inaccurate.

Daily Mail claimed she was wearing a red dress to court yesterday. I stupidly clicked on the link only to find it was autumnal rust colour. Sheesh

Almost through the doc dump and this one stuck out:

In late May 2025, someone who watched the recent Dateline episode on the case recognized herself in the photos allegedly found on BK's phone. She was a student at WSU in Fall 2022 and was in a class BK was the TA.

I haven't gone thru the 1000's of posts here and this may have been mentioned and if it has, I apologize. Just from the few posts I've read on this mystery item that resembles a vacuum part and the light and sound I automatically thought of a cattle prod or taser of some kind. It would explain a flash and perhaps the sound like a pop or snap. I don't think there was any mention of shock marks on any of the bodies but one could have been used to maybe scare or cause compliance? Just a thought.

I think that is a good fit to what I know of the sound of a taser and cattle prod.
Maybe in the docs that come out something will be mentioned?
A taser may leave marks, not sure a cattle prod does.

How hard is it to get rid of a shovel? Drive to some small town and leave it leaning up against a shed in someone's backyard.

My off-beat sense of humor had me chuckling when I read this.

Guess I've seen too many Coen Brothers' movies.

Like Steve Buscemi in Fargo burying the money in the snow by a fence pole indistinguishable from the 100+ other fence poles.

No disrespect for the Victims and their Families and Friends intended.

JMVHO.

Hello, so very sad watching the victim statements and the judge. It's been just really heart wrenching and I feel very much for the parents, families and friends of the young people.

I have not been able to read all the previous threads and I am just looking for general answers here.

What did you think of the law enforcement press conference after the trial?
What do you think when they said BK was NOT Papa Rogers?
Do you think there was another person present when BK commited the crimes?
There seems to be some confusion over the weapon, was there one or two weapons?

The mom connection is reminiscent of Brian Laundrie, isn’t it?
I know nothing about BK’s mom, and cannot imagine being in her shoes. She thought she had gotten rid of him- finally sent him to another state and now he does this.
So are his parents going to move to Idaho? Or stay in PA?
He doesn’t have family out there- so phone calls may be all he gets.

I still believe that there was a connection between him and his victims, and I don't believe that there was another person involved.

[Picturing AT putting the murderer's heart doodle on her fridge with a magnet like a pseudo mom...] The whole 'drawing thing' was ridiculous and shouldn't have been allowed to be there in the first place on THAT table, it was extremely inappropriate for a quadruple murder sentencing, imo.

well that is confusing
Angenette Levy & Joel from Survivor who were both sat in court & Daily Mail also saying that Loser's father wasn't at court yesterday.

Anybody know if Nate Eaton actually got into court? No idea who ' Chad ' is but he says MK was there
East Idaho News was just streaming it. Lauren from Hidden True Crime was there in person. I haven't listened to any of her videos to see if she mentions who was there.
EBM for typo

No, I don't think anyone else was present. The Papa Rogers person was probably just someone on social media (was it Facebook?) trying to impress or startle other people posting there, discussing the case. That has happened before, some people just like to "prank" others or pretend to be someone mysterious on SM.

I remember when the Canadian killer, Luka Magnotta was on the run from police. There were many people pretending to be him on Facebook, etc. He was known to visit internet cafes where he would use the public computers.

I don't think there was confusion over the weapons used. I think the initial reports of first responders reflect their uncertainty about weapons because of the wounds inflicted on KG. Those are written very early in the investigation. Once all the evidence was gathered, LE and detectives were probably able to analyze all of it and resolve those questions.

I think Dylan thought it was Kaylee, maybe it was Xana. Wasn't there talk earlier of Xana's blood being in Maddie's room? It would explain why he left the sheath in the Maddie's room, to go after Xana.

Could the alleged second weapon, described by members of the Goncalves family as the instrument that caused the severe blunt force trauma to Kaylees’ face, have been either metal knuckles on the style of Kaybar knife, or the pommel of the Kaybar knife? Law enforcement stated they were unable to determine what caused the blunt force injuries to Kaylee.
For all the knife questions, this might help
If you look at the way it is designed, there are gaps in the handle so you would still have a grip no matter how slippery the handle gets. The handle is made of leather, and the edge grain will absorb a limited amount of liquid that actually raises the grain to help keep it from getting slick. The guard protects your hand from the blade, and the pommel, also known as the butt, of the knife is metal, round and hard, made for causing blunt force damage. I use mine as a hammer on a regular basis. These are not top of the line knives, but a good functional knife that you won't cry over if you lose it. JMO.
ETA: to add the serrated version, which is a nasty piece of work. KA-BAR: KA-BAR® USMC, Serrated Edge
