PLEA DEAL REACHED - 4 Univ of Idaho Students Murdered, Bryan Kohberger Arrested, Moscow, Nov 2022 #109

Details about today’s hearing in Pennsylvania, dealing with if certain defense witnesses will have to testify.

The judge ruled in favor of the defense in regard to all of the witnesses who appeared today.

There are hearings scheduled for the rest in the near future.

These witnesses include a high school acquaintance of Kohberger, a man who trained Kohberger at a boxing gym, and a third man whose connection was unclear, but didn’t oppose the summons.

From what we know about this group of people: their connection to the crime itself is virtually non existent. Unless one of them can testify to a continuing condition that would disqualify BK from wielding a knife.
Again from what we know: the one exception might be the car dealer, if in fact there was something of significance peculiar about the Hyundai, that was visible from the outside. But thats a long reach, IMO.
Collectively, it would appear they are being summoned to offer mitigating testimony for the penalty phase; that makes the car dealer particularly interesting. Because what's he going to say? BK was a careful test driver?
Logically, though, this does indicate some activity on BK's part in support of the defense strategy. One has to expect BK named these people himself.

Thiugh BK is young, the four people he brutally murdered were all even younger. I'll frankly be surprised if any mitigators the defense offers has any impact on any of the jurors. After hearing five or six weeks of testimony, and seeing voluminous evidence, complete with gruesome photos, about what this monster did to four INNOCENT YOUNG college students, I believe they will not even tarry for long before returning with a death sentence verdict. JMO

But he is young, and his parents will be there. He is still someone's son. IMO it will depend on who is on the jury. Guilty I see easily. DP is just going to depend on what the jury makeup is and how they are affected by what they are going to see.

BK worked as a part-time security guard for that school district (and it was also the district where he attended high school). Chances are good that she was either his boss at that time or worked/interacted with him in some capacity when he was a guard. So, could be trying to bring in how he was a good and reliable security guard, or the incident where he helped another security guard save a hall monitor's life

So, in general that means that the sheriff served a party or parties with legal documents (such as a summons or a complaint). The return is the sheriff is then filing with the court his written acknowledgement that he successfully served those documents.

Assuming it is confirmed I will be glad for the surviving housemates, the DD driver and the loved ones of them all. The trial would have been horrific and re-victimised them all.

I know some families were vocal for the DP but he would never see day again anyway and this puts an end to so much unknown.

I’m so very surprised by this news. I guess the chance of being put to death outweighs the excitement of reliving the experience while the world watches. And those latest reports about his witnesses not wanting to be there didn’t help. I hope it’s true.
