Porepunkah shooting: Two officers dead and another wounded after shooting at High Country property, Victoria, Australia #2

A few seconds google search: cow cams
Not in porepunkah tho.
Still, I'm hooked

Do you think an Octopus cam would look out of place, I hear they are good at camouflage.

Or how about a moving bush.

I'd rather a cam on Mali & the son/s :)

What I can't understand is that if the airport camera/telecommunications setup is used to contact people in the bush then why isn't someone there all day (and night)?
So I think it must be a camera and someone goes there each day to check the images.
But I also I don't think it takes two and sometimes 3 cars with police to check images.
There would be no localised images to see and I don't think it is a microwave or heat sensing device for peering into the bush.
If the police wont say, I would love a reporter to find out what it is.
(Are you there Jonica? :))

High-tech surveillance unit that has been deployed in Dezi search

One of their main tools is a long-range system that combines a high-resolution telescopic camera with a microwave booster.

Several of these units have been set up across the region, using powerful zoom lenses to capture detailed images in the search..

One has been mounted on a hilltop overlooking Freeman’s Porepunkah farm, the site of the deadly ambush before he vanished into the bush.

You can be assured that any surveillance cameras are being monitored either live or with alerts set up when certain happenings occur. I wouldn't be surprised if the strategy going forward is to starve him out if he is in fact still alive and in the wilderness. As life returns to normal for the local residents and tourists to the area watch this space because I do not think Desi is a patient type and undoubtably something will happen in the coming weeks if he is still alive. Do you think his wife has been co operating with police and do you know if she is an Australian resident/citizen?

I wonder if this is the arrest? Doesn’t seem related to Freeman.

Yes I noticed that. Strange they would use the old photo yesterday. I saw a few media reports over the past years of various charges.

IMO

Do you think that is definite then, a microwave booster is what is at the airfield?

But I thought microwave cameras cannot see through dense foliage like a bush.

A microwave imaging camera uses microwave radiation to capture images, often penetrating materials like fog, fabric, or even walls to see internal structures.

If it's sending out microwaves on the trailer at the airfield, a sov cit like Dezi would probably believe any radiation would be harmful to humans and he would not be able to help himself but to come out from his hiding place to argue with police in no uncertain terms they are causing themselves harm when they are in the shed next to the camera for long periods, not to mention the harm they are also causing to him by pointing several cameras in his direction.

Is that how they might catch him?

If they put a cowcam or two on, let's hope they don't choose the very cow that Dezi is disguised as! :p
That's offensive to cows. 😂

About the Myrtleford search from yesterday - says the search was related to a firearm prohibition order, and no arrests were made.

Interestingly, yesterday's article about it said that witnesses saw a sniper, drones, several officers in camo gear with guns drawn, and a man being led out in handcuffs.

I wonder if they're parking further away this morning because they read my post about possible microwave radiation concerns.

It's hard to say. By 'microwave booster' do they mean communication booster or microwave radar / life-detection device? I wish they would be more specific.

Also if I had to guess, regardless of what these particular trailers are, IMO they would have to be throwing all the technology they could at it. It seems resource is no issue here.

Someone up line suggested specialist ADF troops should be called in, and I agree.

And I’m sure they have Smoke Grenades that they use in war time to ‘draw out the enemy’ .

I'm not fully seeing it? Like maybe, but old film cameras made things look weird anyway. ?

It does look a bit weird but to me it just looks like he's holding the snake very tightly, as you would, and so his hand is flexing and the metacarpals are showing, plus the hypothenar eminence / muscles inside that mound.

But I might be missing the point.

Hi Essareem, I’m not an expert on photo editing, or many things at all 😛 However that fist holding the snake hand looks like its been inserted close to what was an original fist or hand. That has caused an unnatural sized and formed fist. I think the direction of natural light hitting the hills in the background versus the light hitting the face of the subject may also be in question. But again, I’m no expert in this stuff, it just doesn’t look right to me.

MOO

I suppose it would be illegal to put Mali and sons in jail? (Gently, of course) Just thinking that it may coax our hero out to rescue them. Haven't we seen this done in Westerns?

It's an interesting concept and I think the reason why they kept their options open about charging family members in the future, which was probably due to withholding info, was to put a bit of pressure on. Personally I think Dezi is in the mountain with no communications.

Can someone tell the cops I was only joking about the risk of getting sick from the microwaves and it's OK to park next to the shed if they want to:
