So, what do we think, 2-3 days to drain a 5 acre pond? I personally have no idea how long something like that would take.

It depends on how many pumps they have running and their capacity to move the water. I would think no more than 2 days if they have several which was indicated earlier in articles.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed they are conducting a new search for Haleigh Cummings this weekend, according to FOX 35's Jacksonville affiliate WAWS TV.
Dive teams and investigators from various law enforcement agencies are scouring a pond south of Palatka, having found evidence that could be related to the 6-year-old’s disappearance in February.
Officials on Saturday said they will drain the body of water for better access to the site.
FOX 35 News reported Friday that search crews and a surveillance helicopter were checking an area of Interlachen off U.S. Highway 19 in North Central Florida, where detectives found a field of marijuana.

"St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar said Friday that members of his special operations team -- which includes the SWAT and dive teams -- were again called on Wednesday to help Putnam County investigators search for any sign of the girl, but he could not say where or why the search was being conducted.

Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy submitted a "mutual-aid request" on Wednesday, asking for help from neighboring counties, Shoar said."

The description of the evidence will not be released at this time.

According to the sheriffs office, although coincidental, the recent interviews with Hank Thomas Croslin Jr. and Kristina Prevatt did not provide the information which led to this search.

Sheriff Hardy wants to quell all rumors surronding the case and there is no evidence to support any of the accounts stated.

I read on one of my twitters that the search was based on a tip received in a letter from someone out of the State of Florida....I understand that twitter is a lot of rumors....but just wanted to add that for WIW

I wanted to mention it is nice of the mods to let us have this thread upstairs where we can work together while we are trying to piece together what is fact from fiction given that Hardy is talking out of both sides of his mouth. I feel the posts on this thread are geared towards finding the truth behind what is happening in this case regardless of everything else. It is awesome.

Does anyone in LE at this point have solid credibility? Maybe the reporters should be tracking down the FBI agent who took over the case and let him have a go at it!!

The thread was created and named by the OP yesterday, 07:43 PM prior to LE confirming that this was a search for Haleigh.

It is my understanding that the only people that can change the titles to threads are the mods on WS (admin, or owner) and the OP.

Ditto, SeriouslySearching this is an important thread but frustrating since there is nothing concret yet from LE. However, it does allow us to work along as the search is ongoing, which can be both exciting and sad.
As for LE credibility, in my experience with LE while on the case, they have a policy to not release anything until it is something they can prove in court. But, usually, more often that not, there is one person in the search team who leaks something in order to feel like an important person. The thing is - the reporters covering the scene, have to find that person if they don't already have a solid relationship with that person as an inside source.
I'm just writing this from a former reporter's experience of what I witnessed first hand over the years before I retired from newspaper reporting.

I have been chasing twitter sites and keeping track of the news sites, but today there is only more of the same confusing information. LE appear to be chasing their tails in media reports and the majority of facts are coming from John Q. Public.

It is frustrating since we really can't discuss what JQP is saying here. Ugh!
