I asked a few days ago in the legal thread if Azlawyer thought during this "Break" there would be some dealings on a settlement going on. I just had this feeling it was amping up to push the state and family into removing the DP option and just giving her life. This motion is the last hail mary they have, to finally break down TAs family into submission and get them in line. I am afraid, it will probably work. I have a feeling the next time we go into court, it will be to announce theyre removing the DP option

Not if it was my family member.

I believe it was mentioned in the first trial that when the computer was turned on for the first time there was a warning about a virus. So they did know about it. I don't think the State could prove JA put that virus on his computer but I think JA own statements would indicate she was the only one who had access to the computer. Was he even up at 4am when she arrived or was she on the computer at that time trying to install this virus?

I've also wondered that. My mind cannot stop- I'm now wondering if she had a gun on him the whole time!

I am late to this utterly despicable, abhorrent, sleazy, grotesque, sociopathic ploy from the JA and KN, but as I consider the dates, I wonder if JA got this stuff onto his computer via email attachment/or some other means, on the 28th, and this was what Travis was referring to in his angry letter to her?? Then maybe she used the lie of "I will erase it all for you if I can stop by" on the 4th?? IDK but I do know I believe 100% that she is behind it completely.

I think the TA family is stubborn, in just the way I am. I won't give up on something I want no matter how hard it is to get. They want the death penalty and the way I think THEY think of it is that they have come this far, whether it be 3 more months or 30 more YEARS, they want to see death through..no matter the cost, emotionally, physically or financially.

It will interesting to see what Juan's reply is - if it's good enough Nurmi will try to have it sealed I guess. Juan will of course argue to keep it out, but if JSS allows it in, then katie bar the door....

If Juan has an expert find evidence that Jodi set this up, via email or some other means, then maybe he argues that that and the forged pedo letters should come into evidence as a pattern of her faking evidence during her premeditation and her postmeditation (is that a word?). The jury will be convinced she is the worst person they have ever seen in their lives.

And remember that most of the jurors are young, so they'll have an easier time believing it was a setup than an older juror might. At least that's how it seems to me.

After reading Nurmi's motion - it just screams to me the OJ defense. Remember when Mark Fuhrman the LEO detective was accused of planting the bloody glove? If the glove doesn't fit - you must acquit. Insert Flores for Furhman who instead of "planting" evidence, Nurmi alleges he "deleted" and covered up evidence.

It only takes one juror to take the dp off the table and Nurmi wins . . . . . create doubt and mystery with a "look over here" and "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" sort of mentality.

Just my observations

I am really not understanding how they can retry this WHOLE thing. Can someone break it down for me? The evidence was presented in it's entirety and she was convicted of 1st degree murder. Attorneys in da house, please dumb it down for me and tell me how this is becoming a whole new being. Where is the line drawn?

http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2014/11/jodi-arias-evidence-destroyed-dismissal-motion/

"More than six years after Travis Alexander was found murdered, his ex-girlfriend Jodi Arias could be close to winning her freedom thanks to a shocking twist in the case. RadarOnline.com has learned that accused murderess’ lawyers have accused a key detective of destroying evidence that Alexander visited child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites, which they say should overturn her murder conviction."

I think he did show his cards. It reads like someone initiating a barter, asking an unreasonable price to make the final real cost sound like a bargain.

Throw out everything! Let her walk! Or.....at least, take away that pesky DP. Yep.

Kinda like we'll trash Travis's character if Jodi doesn't get her way? same o same o.

It certainly sounds from this like the witness is NOT JA.

Didn't the COA tell JSS that she was limited to what AZ 9.3 allowed and that she had overstepped it? It sounds like from the wording of the issue KN is addressing (p 2) that he is going back to tell them that screwed up and don't understand AZ 9.3, because she really didn't overstep it, hence they need to correct their earlier mistake.

AZL or some other lawyer will have to say whether my interpretation above is correct or not, but it seems to me that his chances are slim and none, and slim has left town. Then again, maybe that's all he can do in his appeal is to try to convince them to change their minds, so it's guaranteed to be an uphill battle no matter what.

Yep -for sure - Nurmi now has a 'real' lawyer writing the motions!

ETA: Who's paying him/her?

  • #1,057
No. Her time is coming. So is Casey Anthony's.

No compromising.

Agreed! There's no reason to cave into the DT's dirty tricks and back down from the Death Penalty. This is all conjured up crap coming from Jodi, who probably knows there was some 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his computer or at least a nasty virus because she planted it, or tried to.

So Now Nurmi wants to go back to court.... now that he has created this sh... storm today, now that no one is thinking about his games of keeping media out of court, stomping on our 5 amendment. Now that he has everyone working on another mess he created, he wants to go back to court. What is he thinking, we are going to forget about the mystery witness, about his client being charged and convicted of MURDER, about the motions he set in motion yet today. He is def. Kray Kray. He needs to get his own defense atty soon, I hope he gets charges filed against him for all this crap he has stirred up over the last month.... ENOUGH I SAY.... ENOUGH...

I just hate the way law enforcement is treated in trial. Instead of being respected they are treated worse than the criminals who are actually on trial. Hate it!
