I'm sensing the DT planned for JA to temporarily take the stand in secrecy and with the following goals, JMO:

• Talk much and long about childhood lovely things
• Leave jurors with lovely imagery: first to hold newborn sister, etc
• Keep talking until prevented from doing so
• Never reference TA or get to stories about life after having met TA
• When prevented from further secret testimony, refuse to testify further, refuse cross-examination, agree to strike given testimony from the record and not considered by the jury [note: they won't forget]
• If forced to be cross examined I believe JM could only cross on topics addressed in direct - AZL: is that true? TIA
• Just need to connect with one juror to thwart a DP conviction

Remember, the DT told JA that she has no, zip, zilch, nada mitigators.

JM would not be limited to topics covered on direct with all witnesses, but with JA the judge might be able to order him to stay within the scope of direct due to JA's right to remain silent. If I were JM, though, I would argue that she's waived her right to remain silent on every topic covered in the other trial phase as well!

Not to worry. He's just a nut ball supporter from NZ who claims he went to school/church with Travis and caught him looking at child porn and confronted him over it. He also confronted him over "abusing" women, which entails having sex with them and not marrying them, the DT's loose definition of abuse. He says Deanna was abused and was just too stupid to understand it.

I promise you, it's BS and the only way the DT would even fathom putting him on is because Jodi is making them and only if he can testify in secret so the world doesn't laugh at Nurmi for putting on someone who they literally found on the internet and who was dumb enough to lie for Jodi.

His claims are ridiculous. If she doesn't get the death penalty after this guy goes up, I don't know if anything will. And I suspect Nurmi understands this is suicide to their case, thus his claim that he and Willmott will be scrutinized if (when) she gets the death penalty.

JSS sure turned out to be a disappointment. Imo, all this latest BS could have been prevented. Now we have more motions, motions that need to be argued in front of her in open court, motions that need to be argued in secret hearings, blah blah blah, basically her decision has led to nothing but precious time being wasted.

I also think Nurmi thought all this testimony from Jodi, Dr F and this New Zealand nut might fly and he did not count on Juan successfully getting the truth out of Dr F that Travis was NOT a pedophile. Shame on Nurmi. My guess is he is never planning on having the NZ nut testify now anyway.

Curious...I don't think he ever planned on the NZ nut testifying either. The guy has zero credibility, and I can't believe Nurmi would dare have him testify.

NZ is playing his role by refusing to testify unless the impermissible is granted, IMO.

It's silly and insulting to the intelligence either way. Once upon a time in this same trial JSS made it clear adequate measures could be taken to "protect" reluctant witnesses so they could testify.

Not sure if JSS remembers those saner days, but I suspect JM will remind her of them if need be.

I hope it's him. I am/was afraid it's someone "credible" that might create doubt in the jurors minds.
I can't believe that Travis who led people to believe he was a virgin, was somehow out there telling people he was a pedophile. How does that even make sense?

The more this trial lingers on, the more I hate Arias. How does she look at Travis' family and is okay with dragging this out for as long as possible? Also, how is she not scared of what happens to her after this life? I don't mean to bring religion into this but isn't she scared of what happens next? Why wouldn't she beg for forgiveness to those that matter instead of continuing to kill him over and over again with all the lies? I don't understand. I can't believe all the money wasted on this evil witch.

You're looking at this situation as a compassionate, sentient human being with a moral compass. Jodi's personality disorders very likely preclude her from feeling real fear - as you or I would experience it - of almost anything. Certainly, in place of morality is a sense of entitlement; she is void of conscience and empathy; and incapable of actual remorse. Her sense of right and wrong fluctuates and is solely determined by her - society's rules should not apply to her. To admit there is a god would force her to admit she isn't. Ergo, religion isn't high on the list of psychopathic individuals except as a tool to con or manipulate others who are spiritual. Lastly, if she fell on the mercy of the court she would be forced to accept culpability. She will never admit a wrongdoing - and actually I believe she, to her core, feels absolutely justified in slaughtering Travis. She's just lying about the why.

And the money spent probably just further feeds her narcissism and persecution complex. For that reason alone, on top of so many others, I find it infuriating too.

Oh! And to a psychopathic individual, the knock-on effect to Travis' family is better than any drug. They love to play games with people's emotions. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say many psychopaths view society like their own personal ant farm. The effect Jodi has on them; the power she holds over Travis' legacy and memory; the special considerations given to her in court - all that would be extremely intoxicating to a psychopath. She feels important, special, powerful, and in control. It doesn't get better than that for a psychopath.

Isn't he known for defending sexual predators? I thought I remembered that from the first trial.
