Hope it is okay to post this about another website. Helpfindthemissing.org has a way you can click on Adult missing map and then choose the state and you can see "some of the missing" from "some states" and it shows their locations, but I was disappointed it is not extremely up to date. I tried doing it for SC for adults and saw only about one name I knew of and no BD. I then tried for Children missing map but nothing came up for SC on that one. (FWIW)

After teen vanishes, Myrtle Beach expands surveillance

Big Brother will be taking an extended vacation in Myrtle Beach to keep tabs on more public places.

The City of Myrtle Beach confirmed to NewsChannel 15 this week plans of a new pilot program designed to provide more surveillance cameras.

"We have about 20 cameras in various locations, high-traffic locations in the city," said Myrtle Beach Spokesman Mark Kruea.

Kruea said a few cameras have been in place for several years, but the city's IT manager said those were grainy and ran on old infrastructure.

The new cameras offer a better quality image and run on real-time technology, IT Manager Brian Gause said.

Gause said the idea to expand coverage came as a request from police after Brittanee Drexel vanished from Ocean Boulevard on April 25, 2009.

Police think the 17-year-old spring breaker was snatched from an area near the BlueWater Resort on 20th Avenue South.

The surveillance cameras available at the time caught a grainy image of the teen walking on the sidewalk before she disappeared.

If additional city-captured surveillance exists, it was never released to the media.

"Following that (Drexel's disappearance) ... they (police) said 'gee, we would like to have greater coverage,'" Kruea said.

In the past few months, the IT department has installed about 15 new cameras mainly along the new boardwalk and Ocean Boulevard from 8th to 14th Avenues North.

As time goes on and as money becomes available, the city hopes to install cameras for the entire length of the boardwalk and eventually for all of Ocean Boulevard.

Kruea said the cameras are an added layer of security and a tool to gauge crowds during big events. It's not, he said, an invasion of privacy.

"You really shouldn't have any expectation of privacy in a public place," Kruea said, and acknowledged, "Big Brother is watching ... be advised that somebody may see what you're doing in public places."

If there are people who are concerned about privacy, they weren't vocal about the issue when this reporter was asking people along the boardwalk.

"I'm glad somebody's keeping an eye on me," said one visitor down from New York.

"I think the only people that will be concerned about being an invasion of privacy is if they are out here doing something they are not supposed to be doing," said another visitor, Patrick Durham.

unfortunately it doesn't sound like it so far because they said they were installed over the last few months and nothing was apparently caught regarding the girl from Tennessee...It seems they are placing them in the more "touristy" spots...the boardwalk and North Ocean Blvd...But I hope they're not done and they should absolutely put one in the place where possibly two girls were assaulted now (britt and rm)...

I've been around, just lurking though I just caught up with everything yesterday... It seems this group of people from McClellanville is truly a bad bunch. IT might sound weird, but I hope that they are somehow involved with BD's disappearance. The reason I say this is, because I think it will greatly increase the chances of these people going down - if not for BD, then perhaps one of their other crimes.

It amazes me how several cases have unusual coincidences, all leading back to this group of people in this small town. Brandy Hannah, back in 2005 - had one of these people living 3 blocks away from her?!?! Coincidence? The fact that LE arrested one of these people for the murder of Shannon McConaughey.. (I'll never understand why that didn't go to trial, they cite lack of evidence as the reason, but they had a confession!)

So we know there is at least 2 victims that have some indirect ties to this bunch. I wonder if there is any ties with Crystal Gail Soles' disappearance..

It seems rather brazen, almost unbelievable, that this group of people could be responsible for all of this.. HOWEVER, if you think about it - If you get away with something, once, twice even, you begin to think you're above the law, and you can continue this pattern of behavior.

I hope LE already has all of those cell phone records and is building more and more evidence at this very moment.

Thanks I think it's time I head back out that way with more flyers and my staple gun... I only have like 700 left... I've been wanting to head back to that area, but this extreme heat really kicks my a$$... Now I even have an address to work with... I can post all along that area!! I'm also curious if the locals I talk to up there have ever heard of this group of people.

In my previous flyer posting adventures, I always started north of McClellanville, closer to the Santee rivers...

Looks like a new adventure is in the making...

Seems since day one of Brittanee's disappearance, he has given us the most comprehensive reporting and from what I have noticed (IMO) most accurate reporting. He really seems to care and I hope he stays the distance until Brittanee is brought home to her family.

about a young mom that was grabbed and murdered at Crystal Beach Texas - I don't think it's directly related of course (though it is a little possible given that LE believes most of the perps were from out of state), but because it demonstrates just how fast someone can be grabbed - her friends were just 90 seconds behind her and never saw a thing...

Mlatta: I really respect and appreciate all you've done and plan to do but I hope now that we realize what's happened with this gang (and I'm calling them a gang although they may not have affiliation to one of the established gangs- but probably do IMO) I'm praying you're going to be really, really careful. I wouldn't doubt them or some of their family are reading here (they were sure all over those newspaper comments) and it scares me that you might put yourself in jeopardy...Please be extra, extra careful and make sure someone knows where you are...

I also ditto the above, and add that it might be a good idea to let LE in that area know what you are up to ahead of time, both as a safety measure and in case they might feel it would interfere with something they are doing themselves (don't know what that would be, but it's best to be sure not to step on any of the good guys' toes)...at any rate, I've always found that LE appreciates a heads up when they can get one.

Sounds like this girl was the "runner" for her fiance to me. Some things sound familiar to BD's case in a way. She left and was supposed to be right back to her hotel and the phone calls/texting stopped and then someone finally got concerned enough to report it to authorities. You are right...what is wrong with our young people, RoseC.

I was one who talk to Monica (CUE) when Matt first said he need diff info on adding the reward money etc,and she told me we should hold off for now,and let news break (story of T being caught etc) and let LE finish searching there land etc,,but i have not talk to her since, on BD, to me this just my 2 cents on this, im not so sure it be safe to go post fliers in McClellanville right now, we dont need another missing person,,but i guess yall do what yall felt lead to do,i know sitting and waiting is so hard for Derexl family, but i still feel le is hoping t clan will open up say something, i got my doubts on that tho,t has lawyered up so you no deal with that,,,,im still betting he walk with a fine,but we will see in Sept,,,,,i hate the waiting game :-(
