I'm gonna wait.. if nothing else, until this weather cools down... Maybe we will have some sort of resolution before then... wouldn't that be nice?

Have a gr8 weekend every1

Ha.....to be honest, I'm more concerned about heat strokes at this point than I am of anyone living in the area.
We should really plan something out far enough in advance...so that many more people can come!
I think Brittanee's birthday is on October 7th.

What if we got together for that date (Thursday)....or for the Saturday following (9th) to both honor Brittanee and promote media attention for her case....but to also post new flyers when it's a little cooler?
If some locals have good contacts.....I think we could make a decent amount of noise and hopefully get some media coverage?!?! Maybe do a balloon release, have local LE or community leaders talk about how much this case/crime is a stain on the Georgetown Community, etc.

I still think of this beautiful girl and those amazing eyes every day. I hope something happens to give this family answers. I can't imagine her Mother's anguish to have this darling daughter disappear out of her life. Dear God give them peace.

This is a little OT but I cannot stop thinking about how many of these girls that have "disappeared" or were "almost kidnapped" or have turned up deceased after missing down there in the same "general area" are so close in height, weight, and coloring; blue-eyed blondes. The Lukaitis girl was like 105 pounds, 5' 3" (I think) and so many are so close to that size. Maybe they seem to be "easier targets" by these perps who call themselves "men".

Size wise, it has long been known by LE that petite women and younger girls are by far the favorite targets of predators because they are easier to control and physically dominate, so the height/weight connection never phased me - but I like you I had noticed the disproportionate number of blue eyed blonds. It's like certain individuals down there have some sort of a Bundy-esque obsession with them...

Being a petite woman myself (same size as Britt) I have thought about being a target and what I would do to try and get away. I decided my best bet would be to do what is being taught to kids nowadays. Go limp, Drop to my bum, kick and scream while turning on my bum to attract attention. It is much harder to control a person in this way. I told my own daughter about it (she's small too), so we practiced the technique on one another, LOL! Seriously tho, I wish there were programs in schools for girls (boys too) to learn techniques for physical protection.

All the blonde, blue eyed young women who are missing/murdered in such a small 3 county area is quite disturbing to me. I am beginning to wonder if someone or several persons is snatching these young women and drugging them and then sexually assaulting them repeatedly and finally killing them. I don't think I will ever drive alone on US 17 again. I have stopped in GT for gas lot's of times. I didn't know then what I know now!

all MOO

Brittanee, where are you?

Respectfully snipped by me

There are a number of organizations that go around the country teaching self-defense and safety at schools (my daughter's principle had me find some for her as homework last year lol), but most cost the school money - money that they just don't have unfortunately. There are a few that offer their services for free, relying on donations etc, but they usually have a long waiting list. I'd love to see more states or the federal gov offering funding, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, so it looks to be up to local PTAs and such to take up the slack.

(If you want a list of available programs I can try to find the one I made for my 'homework', but it's on my main compy which is on its last legs so it might take awhile)

LOL! I was PTA president for a 2 year term and we provided funds for such presentations. But that's just it......they were presentations and time didn't allow for the kids to actually get physically involved. It would be good if self defense was at least offered as a PE elective in middle and high school. There would probably be a waiting list, like Drivers Ed in public schools.

I think college campuses are becoming a bit more proactive in offering seminars and workshops for students these days. So much violence and worry surrounding our young people lately. It is sad.

Where are ya Britt?

This has always been my fave pic, too...Now, of course, it reminds me of little Kyron's tree frog, which makes it even sadder... :(

Oh yes this would be such an excellent thing to have included in schools, even if it was just an elective. If it could save just one life it would be worth all the time involved. BTW, I don't think I ever touched the scales at 103 pounds, LOL. I sometimes feel I was born at 120 pounds and just keep going up each year, a couple pounds each year.

A day off work and I constantly check news feeds for updates. Give us some answers, Brittanee.

If we are still awaiting answers, please post if this can be done around the 9th or so of Oct. I would really like to participate if I can. I think it an excellent idea and a good way to bring some much needed attention to Brittanee.
