I'm gonna wait.. if nothing else, until this weather cools down... Maybe we will have some sort of resolution before then... wouldn't that be nice?
Have a gr8 weekend every1
This is a little OT but I cannot stop thinking about how many of these girls that have "disappeared" or were "almost kidnapped" or have turned up deceased after missing down there in the same "general area" are so close in height, weight, and coloring; blue-eyed blondes. The Lukaitis girl was like 105 pounds, 5' 3" (I think) and so many are so close to that size. Maybe they seem to be "easier targets" by these perps who call themselves "men".
Seriously tho, I wish there were programs in schools for girls (boys too) to learn techniques for physical protection.
Respectfully snipped by me
There are a number of organizations that go around the country teaching self-defense and safety at schools (my daughter's principle had me find some for her as homework last year lol), but most cost the school money - money that they just don't have unfortunately. There are a few that offer their services for free, relying on donations etc, but they usually have a long waiting list. I'd love to see more states or the federal gov offering funding, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, so it looks to be up to local PTAs and such to take up the slack.
(If you want a list of available programs I can try to find the one I made for my 'homework', but it's on my main compy which is on its last legs so it might take awhile)
LOL! I was PTA president for a 2 year term and we provided funds for such presentations. But that's just it......they were presentations and time didn't allow for the kids to actually get physically involved. It would be good if self defense was at least offered as a PE elective in middle and high school. There would probably be a waiting list, like Drivers Ed in public schools.
I think college campuses are becoming a bit more proactive in offering seminars and workshops for students these days. So much violence and worry surrounding our young people lately. It is sad.
Where are ya Britt?

Ha.....to be honest, I'm more concerned about heat strokes at this point than I am of anyone living in the area.
We should really plan something out far enough in advance...so that many more people can come!
I think Brittanee's birthday is on October 7th.
What if we got together for that date (Thursday)....or for the Saturday following (9th) to both honor Brittanee and promote media attention for her case....but to also post new flyers when it's a little cooler?
If some locals have good contacts.....I think we could make a decent amount of noise and hopefully get some media coverage?!?! Maybe do a balloon release, have local LE or community leaders talk about how much this case/crime is a stain on the Georgetown Community, etc.
