It seems tensions were high between them, for whatever reason.
I mean,
yelling at each other in a posh club, in front of other guests seems extraordinary IMO.

I would like to know if he was aware, prior to this, that he's being investigated by ATF?

I doubt it. I think when law enforcement was conducting searches of their properties, they came across something of interest to the ATF.

So my money is on a new development as opposed to an earlier investigation.

MOO but nope... I don't think "she walked to the woods" ... It's not likely she had any choice in what was happening to her by then.

Ps i would like to better understand the timing of the calls from Suzanne to her mother and to her friend (both outcries it appears) compared to the time the neighbor saw BS abusing her/attempting to confine her outside.

ETA from this article: Texas realtor disappeared after party as neighbors heard shouting in woods

"The neighbor told police that they had seen “Ms. Simpson attempting to get away from Mr. Simpson’s grasp as he tried to pull her downwards” outside a home on East Olmos Drive.

The witness said it appeared Brad Simpson “was clearly attempting to keep Ms. Simpson from running away” and that the couple was later seen walking away from the house together.

The neighbor then told investigators that shortly after he heard two to three screams coming from a brushy area east of his home."

I am astounded that the neighbor listened to the altercation and heard screaming but never called 911. After all, he was concerned enough to listen, look out the window and continue to notice what this man was doing.

I suspect this guy was in big trouble.
It seems as if he snapped and couldn't control himself.
In his booking photo he looks scary, almost unhinged IMO.
Also much older than his real age.

From above article - “DPS told KSAT on Saturday that the agency is not planning any more large-scale searches for Suzanne Simpson this weekend.”

It feels a bit odd that DPS hasn’t carried out any planned searches this weekend. I understand the writing is on the wall and we are waiting now for the awful but likely outcome to be confirmed, but wouldn’t it be beneficial for LE to continue searching? Especially when they have stated knowledge of general areas and properties BS traveled between time Suzanne was last seen and his arrest.

My guess would b yes and this contributed to stress in marriage. Many couples show a very different puctire outside of closed doors JMO

I’m willing to bet that the tension was set into motion earlier than the argument at Argyle. Speculation: Suzanne may have indicated that she was planning to leave him. His ego and wallet were about to be bruised.

The most dangerous time in any relationship involving domestic violence is when the victim tries to leave.

Great post, @steeltowngirl.

I haven't read all the posts here yet.
But
I can't believe a neighbor saw him hit his wife and then heard screams coming from the woods and DID NOT CALL 911.

That is frightening. Another man did not see any of this as "concerning behavior"? Is this true?

Hoping DPS knows something new that we don't know and they are keeping it quiet for some reason. SMH

Prayers for those who love her.

Strongly agree.
He seemed comfortable taking away her phone. Familiar tactic for controlling people.
I will never understand how a father can ruin his children's lives by removing their devoted mother from them forever, or vice versa.
He never viewed his children or wife as people, just possessions.

If it were a movie she would be found and working with the authorities to take down a crime network her shady husband is involved with. If only it were!
I think we all know that's highly unlikely but one can hope.

I don't want to write this.. But possibly LE is now sadly aware that precious Suzanne is no longer with us (found evidence?) and BS (through attorney?) is exploring all options to help himself including finally cooperating.

Or a complete and utter loss of control on his part. His booking photo looks very different than the photo's from even a few years ago - looks a little wild eyed, face is much thinner. I'm wondering if this could be attributed to recent drug use?

If only instead of walking to the woods, she went to a neighbors house or called 911. Or the neighbor himself called 911 and from the safety of his yard, yelled out what he was doing. Or her Mom called 911 on her behalf. I know, Monday morning quarterbacking at it's finest - but this could have been so different - if only ...

I've done it several times. It's amazing how many of these cowards skidaddle when they realize you're calling the police.

Good point.

I wonder if LE used cadaver dogs in his truck.

Also,
how strange that he "escaped to his ranch" the next day leaving kids alone.
"Distancing himself from family" (as was reported)
Was he fleeing?
