From this article...

"She hasn’t been seen since Sunday, October 6 following a dispute with her husband, according to police."

A dispute?

Seems more like an assult. The man was arrested for causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint. A dispute??

Sorry just fuming out loud.

MOO
I feel the same way about the use of "crime of passion" to describe cases like this that end in murder.

I know it's a term of art with a specific meaning, but I feel that at some point we need to argue that a DV history including multiple assaults and coercive behaviour that goes back years shows a pattern of actions with similar or escalating results that begins to look a lot like premeditation. Years and years of similar instances of "crimes of passion" need to be understood differently, IMO.

Anyway, hoping for a good result, but sadly, not expecting it.

It would almost surprise me if they didn’t. He seems like the type.

Yep. What's the over-under on his casting a ballot in SRS's name if he gets the chance?

It's like a BM clone blew into Texas. Hopefully with less committed lawyers and more able and luckier LE.

Whatever the reason for their confidence that Suzanne will be found at Tessman Road LF, it’s a horrific situation for her kids, family and all those who call her their friend. What a selfish $astard he is.

If his attorney is smart, he’ll be putting together a plea deal soon. Or maybe he already has and that’s the reason LE is confident she’s there …

Bbm.
Hmmm.

Earlier, it was said Brad was not cooperating.
I'm still hopeful he didn't get a plea deal.
He deserves life w/o parole, but at the very least locked away long enough to keep him from harming the kids who witnessed the abuse; esp. the younger ones.
Even if he didn't physically hurt their kids, witnessing abuse has to be traumatic.
Omo.

Her wealthy realtor husband Brad Simpson, 53, has been arrested and held over the disappearance. Brad is not cooperating with police and is being held on a $2 million bond.
The affidavit also revealed the couple's youngest child told staff at school 'that her mom and dad were ''fighting''.'

She told staff that
'her dad had hit her mom in the face and possibly pushed her into a wall... that her mom had a bruise on her elbow and that her dad had taken her mom's cell phone away.'

Rbm.
Reading the last paragraph from the above is one of the saddest things that I have read here on WS. The child told the staff at school. At school. Bless that sweet child. Chills.

Read the full arrest warrant affidavit for Brad Simpson, whose wife Suzanne Clark Simpson disappeared. *We have redacted some identifying information of investigators and those interviewed.
The search at the landfill for evidence in her disappearance was tied to a sealed search warrant, according to sources familiar with the investigation. The warrant was signed on Saturday after it was filed by the Texas DPS, sources told KSAT.

Sealed warrants are common in federal cases but are rarely used in county cases. The seal can remain in place for up to 31 days and only can be used if an attorney establishes in court that publicly disclosing the contents of the case would harm the case.

NOTE: There is also a good timeline in this article ^.

BRAD SIMPSON FEDERAL CHARGES The husband of Suzanne Simpson, a mother of four who has been missing for over a week, has just been federally charged with possessing an illegal "Short-barreled rifle."

  • After a warrant was executed. a family member informed LE that Simpson owned multiple firearms that he wanted to surrender.
  • An affidavit released by the ATF states that the family member recovered several firearms and suppressors from a secure room at the Simpson's residence and transported them to the Olmos Park Police Department.
  • One of the firearms was a "Short Barreled Rifle" (SBR), or a rifle with a barrel length under 16 inches.
  • Authorities determined that the rifle was not registered to Simpson.

Right.
And now this scum will never again enjoy his wealth and lifestyle while he sits in a prison cell. Was it worth it?
Didn't he even give a thought to the pain he would inflict on his children?
May he live in misery for the rest of his life.
Why these arrogant despicable men don't just get a divorce and move on, I'll never understand.

It's simple, IMO -- they just love the money more. SMH.
I guess many of them think they can get away with it, so they do it, and sometimes -- not often, thank goodness -- they succeed. Grrrrr.

H-m-m-m, some of the weapons were illegal due to barrel length and suppressors... SMH. What a guy.
(At least he had the weapons in a secure room.)

a "family member"...I wonder on whose side....his or Suzanne's? Or...one of the older children.
If on Suzanne's side, she may have informed her family member.

NEW TONIGHT: We have learned the charge Brad Simpson is facing by the ATF. It is for an unregistered short barreled rifle. He is the husband of the Olmos Park mother, Suzanne Simpson. Suzanne was last seen October 6.
@KENS5

One of those weapons turned out to be Grand Power Stribog SP9 A3, according to the affidavit. It has a barrel length of about 8 inches and "is unlawful for any person to possess" unless registered.

Search teams continued to look for Suzanne Simpson on Tuesday at an east Bexar County landfill. Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas said the Simpson family has provided valuable help in the investigation, which leads them to believe "there is a good chance of recovering Suzanne at that location."
