BS bought two bags of Quickcrete.

According to the affidavit one bag of Quickcrete was found at the Simpsons Olmos Park residence, along with the gray heavy-duty trash can and the metal fire wood rack.

That would mean that BS only used one bag of Quickcrete for what ever purpose he purchased them for.

The five gallon bucket is missing.

According the the affidavit the blood in his truck belonged to BS, indicates that he injured himself.

I don't think the injuries would have been from the scuffle with Suzanne. There was too much time between when the neighbor seen them fighting and heard the screams and BS leaving in his truck to still be actively bleeding.

The blood must have came from injuries BS received while disposing of her body or the evidence that was in the trash bags and blue tarp. (Gets out of truck, injures himself doing what ever it is he is doing, gets back in truck while bleeding and leaves his blood in the truck)

Could Boerne Lake be a possibility?
Boerne Lake seems possible. Per the KSAT article, the gas station was on Johns Rd, so I assume it was likely the Valero. But he then headed westbound, not north? Did he stay on Johns Rd?
  • At some point, Brad Simpson’s truck was seen leaving the waste site in Boerne. He then headed to a gas station in Boerne and bought two one-gallon jugs of water, according to the affidavit.
  • Surveillance footage showed the trash bags were no longer in the bed of the truck, but he still had the blue tarp, firewood rack and trash can. He had also changed his shoes from sandals to cowboy boots, the affidavit added.
  • After he left the gas station, he headed westbound from Boerne in Kendall County to Bandera County, the affidavit states.
  • Around 1:41 p.m., a license plate reader captured Brad Simpson’s truck heading back to Kendall County. At that time, the blue tarp was no longer visible in the bed of his truck, with the fire rack repositioned, according to the affidavit.

There isn’t a lot of oil and gas activity in the Bandera/Medina area. There would be old water wells and possibly old hand dug cisterns on a lot of places in the area. IMO
That's exactly what I was about to say...if this were more south Texas I could totally jump on that theory but from personally living there during especially the more local oil/gas boom back in the 2000's-2010's and family having land out there, I know for sure there isn't. I think there may have been a few wildcat wells attempted but never produced. It's a great thought since that's his line of work, but I just don't think that's the direction. Water wells is a different story, which I am completely in agreement with that thought.

Do y’all think BS bought the insect repellent for himself or for the body… ?
For himself. I would think that a non-living body would not emit the same chemicals that attract blood sucking insects.

I, too, keep leaning towards the lake theory. But, then I’m taken back when I think about the logistics… he wouldn’t want to be seen dumping the body and the openness of a lake would have made him very visible. He also didn’t bring a kayak or anything. He wasn’t noted to be wet and no reports of a clothing change. If he bought the bug spray for himself, and change into cowboy boots right before, then he sounds like he planned to be outside for a long time and in a place where sandals wouldn’t have served him well. But, then, he was only there for 13 mins. Did he park and then carry her body a little bit of the way to an abandoned water well, go back and grab the cement in the bucket, sealed it, and then wrapped it around her feet and toss them both down the well and then run? So many questions?

by chance do you know what the water level is like for the Rockcliff Resevoir (pictured below) :)

I don't know about that particular stretch of the river, that is just a wider area of the Medina River and to my knowledge is extremely low (not even flowing in some areas). His house/ranch-ette is located in that light green upside down boot area in your middle red circle just off Hwy 16 for reference as to distance to Medina.

The argument at the Argyle was on Sunday 10/06/24. The fight in the front yard of their home was a couple hours later at approximately 10:15 PM the same evening.
ty, I was off in my timeline, so I'm starting over!

True. And it was daytime, he’d be highly visible.
I hope they checked the Kendall County dumpsters on Johns Rd., near the gas station.

Boerne lake in the daytime would be too visible. I’m not familiar with Rock Cliff reservoir, but it has a dam so it could be deep. I found an old listing for a private ranch backing up to the reservoir that said the lake was 97 acres when full. This reservoir is basically across the Medina river and a little north of the Simpson’s 7 riverfront acres. Very close by.

well, that's not necessarily common or 'nuts'
my phone is always off when I'm sleeping and is off right now while I'm on WS on another device ...
I meant if you never turn off your phone, but you do the night someone close to you is murdered it's going to be an issue with the police. I was saying that because I never turn mine off and if all of the sudden I had it off all night, I'm probably a good suspect to look into.

359 Highland Drive is the Simpson property. Source is Bandera County Appraisal District.

I could only find the arrest affidavit that had things blacked out on it. So, thank you!

Just want to say it is so helpful when folks that know the area are on a case thread. I’m up here in PA, so I must rely on Google maps. I definitely appreciate the lift from locals!

Yes, agreed! Thanks so much to the locals for their invaluable contributions to this case.

I wonder if there is a septic tank on the property.

The only problem with the dumpster is that he wouldn’t need the cement and the bucket… seems unnecessary and would also make an extremely loud noise <insert silly face emoji>

Happy to help! Google maps is so frustrating at times because it's not real time...for example, the area referred to as the reservoir and river near the property

looks so full and lush on the google image, but it's definitely not as full these days :(

True. Only reason might have been panic. He had a plan but it didn’t work out so he dumped her. But… we heard there was wet cement in his truck bed. He must have used it for something…
