Thailand - FOUND ALIVE - 12 Boys And Coach Rescued from Cave, 23 June 2018 #6

I'll believe this when I hear it directly from the mouth of the Australian Doctor who made the decision in the cave. Until then, I think there are too many conflicting reports. There was a previous article that said the Australian Dr reversed the officials decision to send out the strongest first after he got in the cave and saw the condition of the weakest boys was not improving, and it said he sent the ones most in need of medical care first. I'll see if I can find that link.

From this Tweet and article below: Global News Thailand on Twitter

Anaesthetist and expert cave diver Dr Richard Harris bravely made his way into the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in northern Chiang Rai province on Sunday afternoon to carry out medical visits to the 12 boys and their coach.

After the health check-up, Dr Harris found some of the boys were too weak to be allowed to remain in the cave and regain their strength, as originally planned.

In his assessment, he urged Thai authorities to dramatically change their initial strategy to extract the strongest boys first and to instead take the weaker boys out as soon as possible.

Following Dr Harris’ advice, four of the 12 trapped young boys were brought to safety hours after his consultation.

JMO.
I recall that too. That seemed sensible to me in case the rescues got delayed after the first rescue. It seemed logical to get the ones out first that needed the soonest medical attention. And yet there is another logic as wikipedia wrote.

My quote was from wikipedia. Under "Rescue"
Tham Luang cave rescue - Wikipedia

Yes, and they are quoting the article I linked for their information.
But that article doesn't say that, as far as I can see?
Wikipedia is not a source of reference, they are using sources themselves.
Where is the source for "The healthiest boys were rescued first, as officials believed they would have the best chance of surviving the escape route first.?"

I'm not arguing with you kkdj!
I have appreciated all your posts here! <3

I just distrust media is getting everything right here, translation issues and all.

So wonderful to see this news this morning! Stunning unprecedented rescue, incredible expertise, coordination, and bravery by all involved. So very disheartening that one diver lost his life.
Looking at this article....that 40 cm (15 ") gap they had to go through...omg. So the 13 went through this too on the day they entered the caves, in order to find refuge from the rising water. They must have been so very frightened......the coach, leading them. It's unbelievable.
May all recover swiftly from this life changing ordeal.....truly monumental.

No worries. I didn't think you were arguing with me.
I appreciate your posts too. :)

This is the source per Wikipedia:

And......I don't see it in the article.

I have wondered if the route the divers took finding and rescuing the boys was the same route the team took. Do we have any sort of a layout of the entire cave?

I believe that the Thai officials ordered that the strongest be brought out first but I also believe the dr did what was medically best once he was in the cave. ;)

It could mean that the weakest needed to gain strength and nourishment.

And it gave them a lot of HOPE, no matter if they were the weakest or strongest, just knowing their team mates made it and so could they....Hope and Trust in the divers, medics and everyone around them!

I'm sure one of the rescuers will end up writing a book. We may not know what all went into the planning and rescue until then.

Hurray!

Glad they are all safe and rescued.

Hope they all have a speedy recovery from their ordeal.

Very likely you're correct. Have read that ALL boys tested high
in white blood cells in hospital, showing all had infections and
their bodies' were trying to fight off infections.

As usual we can make up our own minds. However, the coach was weak yet came out last.

The rescue of the Thai cave boys is a triumph of bravery, expertise and love | Suzanne Moore

The rescue of the Thai cave boys is a triumph of bravery, expertise and love

.I am in bits and overawed at this rescue effort – at the pure unflashy heroism of these divers.

.
To be trapped underground as dark water rises is the stuff of nightmares. To enter willingly into these cavities and squeeze through in order to take in food and medicine and finally to free these boys is courageous beyond belief. In the end, oxygen is what mattered, and in taking in oxygen for the boys, one man lost his life, not having left enough for himself. Saman Kunan died trying to save the lives of others. We must not forget him.

The world has been waiting, collectively holding its breath, not daring to hope, in case this rescue effort could not save all of them.

..
fantastically well coordinated team of Thai Navy Seals and international cave divers who came forward to help. Experts: who needs them? These are people we had never heard of, who say quietly that this is what they do, that all these years of diving have prepared them for this rescue. People who cross continents to save children. People who have had to think about how to keep these children mentally and physically strong enough to pull them out. People who have brought dead bodies out of caves before. And yet back in they go.

I wonder if the govenor (military) didn't view Coach as the 'bad guy' in this whole thing based on his answer to the question a few days ago of If they were going to charge him with a crime. His
answer was sort of a 'non-answer' that they would have to look
into it.
