He added: "The conditions are not getting better, with the expected rainfall. The boys themselves also have the courage. They are already starting to fantasise about what they want to eat when they come home."

Mr Reymenants said the rescue operation would begin with the two strongest boys.
"That's how the divers go up and down six times. To go to the group takes about three hours, swimming back goes smoothly through the current," he said.
"After that, the oxygen bottles are refilled and the rescuers leave again to pick up the next boys. We estimate that we can reduce about four people per day, which in the best case lasts a maximum of three days."

The football team that the boys belong to is called Wild Boars. Wild pig team isn't far off as translation goes.

I think you are right about that.

There is also a drilling term called a "pig" too in case it comes up in other reporting. When dealing with long pipes or pipelines like a gas pipeline a "pig" is an oblong device that is sent through a pipe to usually clean the walls of a pipeline.

Well that was a worthless waste of time- the BS ing has started.
the boys can dive already
the boys are unable to dive yet
the boys are just fine
I'm calling to parents everyday to ask if they want us to take boys out- no responsibility on official shoulders here.
they went in front of cave, they'll come out front of cave.
We want to minimize risks
Not today or tomorrow

What? Has the king threatened to behead the govenor if this fails?

apparently they did although it was DRY and boys were not exhausted/starved/weak at that time.

(I am very interested later to talk about this. Marking spot...have to keep reading...as soon as I can breathe and my chest pain goes away...I'm alright...this is just unbelievable all of this, I can't take it...going to rest for a minute.)

Do their parents know I wonder which ones are the "strong ones" who will be the ones to come oUT first, do the parents of the others who are weaker, do you they know thats their child...this choosing the order is killing me...these parents...as some of you mentioned I would have to be sedated...AL though sometimes that adrenaline can kick in...I've experienced it before.

I am taking a break from the reports now. I don't want to hear conflicting ones and there seems to be no "news" of "action" right now.

I'll be back on here later. My thoughts are also with all of you wonderful, compassionate friends!

Praying for all involved. Keep the faith.

Soooo if I understand this correctly (speaking to what's reported) Official states we will bring them out if it rains. Well there is a difference between rain and a monsoon. In my estimation monsoon rains would start filling the cave again? I have no idea about the magnitude of a monsoon. My only comparison is Gilligan's Island. When Gilligan would be horizontal hanging on to a palm tree. Then the Captain would yell "I'm coming to get you Lil Buddy" (lol, kinda)

How about some action in removing the boys. Plans have been in place now for days.

Sorry I am getting jaded and need a break. From now on I am taking every report with a grain of salt and wont believe anything until I hear a boy is out of that cave.

Continued prayers for everyone involved.
So Agree- what the gov. really said-
Look World, we're not a bunch of ignorant backwoods yokels.
We know what we're doing. No flub-ups here.
We're contemplating a precise feat here, don't question us.
It'll happen when we say it happens.
Good Day World.

it says the water has dropped low enough to cut the time it takes the divers to enter the cave and exit with the boys down from 11 hours to less than 6. it also says divers have the capacity to bring out four boys per day.

interior minister just left. chiang rai governor is speaking to press now. #13ชีวิตต้องรอด #ถ้ำหลวง #ThamLaung

4 per day? That means a minimum of 4 more days once this even begins. Yet the rains have apparently started (according to a CNN reporter on scene) and is only a matter of "unknown time"before it is a monsoon. I am trying hard to hold onto any faith that they can all get out. If some do and some don't .... all I can think is bless those rescuers who are remaining with them 24-hours/day.

you made me chuckle in the middle of my angst.
come to my farm any day after noon and I'll show you a Florida
Monsoon.
ps/take an aspirin if you get more chest pains.

This is my prediction----I think there may be 4 or 5 or even more boys, that are in satisfactory health, have some swimming skills, and are mentally prepared to try to dive out. I think they may go ahead and try to bring these stronger, motivated boys out before the rains hit hard.

Meanwhile, there are a probably a few that are in poor health, that may be incapable of the rigorous journey right now. So they will need to keep the pressure on their other experts: the drillers, pumpers, engineers, etc,- to come up with alternate methods to transport the remaining boys.

I think this is how it is shaping up right now. All my prayers and hopes and wishes for a miracle, here and now.

This feels more discouraging as these back-and-firth statements keep coming.
Thailand cave rescue: no attempt to get boys out tonight, says governor - live

24m ago 13:25
No rescue attempt today
The governor, Narongsak Osottanakorn, is asked if he will try to rescue the boys today should the rain begin to fall. No, he says.

They cannot dive at this time.

That concludes the press conference. The governor has left:

He says the British diver, who came out of the cave at 9pm (local time), reported that the boys were fine.

The governor adds that he speaks to the families every day and asks if they want him to bring out the children right now. He says he wants the minimum risk before attempting the rescue.

If it rains, he says, the authorities “will try” to bring them out.

32m ago 13:17

He is asked why the delay if they have already learned to dive. “Because we would like the minimum risk,” he says.

33m ago 13:16

The governor says they will need to “test the plan” once they have decided upon it. He adds that the boys have “already learned” to dive.

34m ago 13:15

The governor is asked if they will try to bring the boys out tonight, as per earlier reports.

We [will] try to set the best plan. If the risk is minimal, we will try. We are afraid of the weather and the oxygen in the cave. We have to try to set the plan and find which plan is the best.

Cold water had been poured on the rumours that an attempt would be made tonight, according to Michael Safi:

@benreymenants, the diver quoted as the source of all those optimistic assessments, has told us he never said that. how did that happen?

asked whether he still feels positively about the sotuation, the chiang rai governor said: “the world is perfect.”

there is no chance the boys will come out today. it is not suitable. they still cannot dive.

governor: “if it rains, and the situation is not good, we will try to bring the boys out.” asked if he would leave the boys inside for four months, he laughed.

governor says that divers who came out of the cave at 9pm tonight reported that the boys are in good health.
governor: “we need to make the plan that is the best plan.”
