Just watched an update on CCN International (TV). It was said the rescue operation to dive them out is now hampered by the fact that they have no child-sized wet suits. Whaaaaa ... ??!! How is that even possible?

ETA: They also said that an unnamed SEAL told them that they will NOT take the boys out today.

I'm hoping that is old info since new reports are saying they will be brought out 2 at a time tonight. Still, all the conflicting info is really distressing.:(

That's terrible :(

He is a hero, and he died trying to save 13 lives. Let them live so that his death isn't in vain.

RIP hero, and condolences to the family :(

I'm just now catching up backwards on the events of the day (from about page 54 of the previous thread)... I don't know if I should follow this anymore... this is tugging at my heart way too much... but I can't just not know what's happening, either. These poor boys and coach, and their families, and rescuers.... :(

They don't have small wetsuits ~ that is ridiculous. One request for wetsuits, many would have been given.

I am afraid the coach is suffering from intense guilt.

I wonder if Thailand has been reluctant to ask for and accept help. Some smaller countries really want to solve their own problems, but this requires many hands and minds.

The 2 1/2 hr. delay in a press conference announced for 9pm their
time is an excellent example of the bafoonery way this backward
country operates. This is why I've had little faith in Thai authorities or military successfully carrying out this mission.
If you're even a little bit familiar with the political climate in
these countries of SE Asia, they are disorganized and poorly led, in general. I've seen similar situations in major airline accidents
involving these small countries where you can't get the truth out
and journalists are run ragged trying to report. they're like 3rd
world countries in many ways. So much of how they operate is based on how they appear to rest of world. Political and military
egos at play. there's probably lots of in-fighting going on with officials. end of rant.

Are "diving" wet suits different than "normal" wet suits? I guess they must be, because child sized wet suits are widely available.

If the plan is to bring the boys out I truly hope they are strong enough. I wish we had a recent health status report. That worries me.

I would think the proper size wetsuits were delivered. They knew their sizes and wetsuits come in children's sizes.
I think it was more than likely poor reporting.

Another new shaft was found today by searchers above #ThamLuang cave, beyond the chamber where the boys are located. Police paratroopers have rappelled down 100 meters, but have not hit bottom. Searchers now preparing to send down a remote vehicle with camera to explore further.

Danish volunteer cave diver Ivan Karadzic has told Sky News he believes a rescue of the 12 schoolboys and their football coach trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand will happen "today or tomorrow"

I sure wish we could get an update on their health, strength and spirits.

He added: "The conditions are not getting better, with the expected rainfall. The boys themselves also have the courage. They are already starting to fantasise about what they want to eat when they come home."

Mr Reymenants said the rescue operation would begin with the two strongest boys.
"That's how the divers go up and down six times. To go to the group takes about three hours, swimming back goes smoothly through the current," he said.
"After that, the oxygen bottles are refilled and the rescuers leave again to pick up the next boys. We estimate that we can reduce about four people per day, which in the best case lasts a maximum of three days."

Me too. I'm concerned that we have not gotten any new videos of them. We heard the families were finally able to speak to them on the phone but nothing after that. Even if families are being protected from the press, it doesn't make sense to me that we have not seen interviews with extended family members about their phone conversations with the boys-- not even something like a cousin of one of the boys saying they know the boys have been able to talk to their parents. I fear the silence means bad news. I hope I'm wrong. :(

Can they dive thru the night since the cave is dark anyway?

There is a confirmed tweet by engineer Elon Musk stating he is sending his Boring Company engineers to talk with rescue officials on Saturday. His "hole digging" engineers wouldn't have an appointment to speak with rescue officials on Saturday if the boys were going to be dived out on Friday.
