#Urgent a vehicle carrying rescuers came out of the road and fell from a cliff near the cave of #ThamLuang.
Four people would get hurt, including 1 seriously.

Reuters and ABC seem to use the same camera feed, it just zooms in and pulls back periodically.

before reuters went down, saw about 100 soldiers go into
entrance area.

Actually, ABC is slightly to the right of the Reuters camera I think.

I think the fact we saw the monks going in then coming out a bit later is telling. We've not seen that before today, right?

I read on travel forum that the entrance area of cave has numerous
Buddhist statues so public can pray before entering. Monks going in was Probably
like a blessing for all the workers and victims.

They are now covering the view we had of the entrance path to the cave with green plastic.

A Belgian diving instructor, based in Phuket, has been banned from the rescue operations at #ThamLuang for spreading distortions and sowing confusion (amongst the press and rescuers).

Good, he acted like he knew what was going on and that he was
an expert in his talking to press yesterday. I could tell from
his statement that he hadn't been very far into the cave based
on the rubbish he was saying. Glad to hear this.

Blocking view...

My feed just disappeared.

From time to time you can hear a loud hissing noise. That's a diver who has left the water and is now blowing out his gear. The apparatus that carries air from the tank to the mouth must be blown dry before attaching it to a new tank.

Sorry to be critical, but this isn’t the most organized looking crew I’ve ever seen. I am also taking exception to seeing casual appearing joking, laughing, and demeanor.
I understand the need to break the stress, but it just looks inappropriate to the dire circumstances.
All just one crabby, sleep deprived opinion.

I disagree.

People act in different ways during adversity. Hence we have "gallows humour" amidst police, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, rescue personnel and so forth. I feel that it is wrong to assume that if a person cracks a smile during an ongoing event like this, that they are not taking it seriously. We've even had a few lighter moments on this thread. Expecting people to behave precisely as you think you would isn't an accurate judge of the seriousness and commitment they hold. I've seen these same accusations made about other disasters and from them, the conspiracy crowd grows.

Also, the Thai people do tend to smile and have an "it is what it is" attitude. It's their way of life, their armour. Life is still going on. Everyone is still serious, but finding a bit of relief in abject horror is what helps humans survive.

That seemed to be the main way in/out, so why have the blocked it off? It will make the live feed pointless.

But..........why block the entrance/exit???
