I read on travel forum that the entrance area of cave has numerous
Buddhist statues so public can pray before entering. Monks going in was Probably
like a blessing for all the workers and victims.

I think it is a sign we are moving closer. Thank all the gods that these monks came to also lend support. It will mean the world to our young men.

Good, he acted like he knew what was going on and that he was
an expert in his talking to press yesterday. I could tell from
his statement that he hadn't been very far into the cave based
on the rubbish he was saying. Glad to hear this.

He's probably one of the reasons we were all going nuts the past few days with all of the contradictions.

They are now covering the view we had of the entrance path to the cave with green plastic.

This morning is the first I have seen them cover the background with the green screen. I think that covers large screen TVs they have there with live footage closer to the cave entrance or inside the cave.

Also the Bhudist monks coming in earlier (to give their prayers I assume) was the first I have seen that.

Praying these are signs they are finally ready to extract some of the boys.

That seemed to be the main way in/out, so why have the blocked it off? It will make the live feed pointless.

To be fair, we as the concerned public do not automatically need a bird's eye view of things. Sure, the lack of sight to ongoing operations sucks for all of us waiting and hoping and praying, but the needs of the rescue comes first. And may the gods forbid we see things if they go bad. I'd prefer a buffer.

My feed just disappeared.

From time to time you can hear a loud hissing noise. That's a diver who has left the water and is now blowing out his gear. The apparatus that carries air from the tank to the mouth must be blown dry before attaching it to a new tank.

My gut says they brought the monks in to pray for the success of a rescue mission (aka diving) , which may either be under way or soon to begin. But that is just gut instinct.

Another authority is now claiming now that the boys will come out today as drivers becoming faint inside the cave due to falling oxygen levels and rising carbon dioxide. #Thamluangcave Still Thai news is not mentioning anything about an ongoing operation.

The one thing I have been concerned about and hope the rescuers have warned the boys about is to expect ear pressure and ears hurting from the water pressure when going under water in that deeper section. That would be one thing that could cause a panic attack if the boys are not told in advance about it.

With the training they likely have had already I am guessing they know to expect that.

I have faith the boys are gung ho about getting out and once they start to be escorted by the divers I think they will be ok. We have to remember they already went in the cave on their own so they know the same passages they will have to go through to get out so it will not be a surprise the path they take.

We've all fallen in love with these boys...

We want to read about when they graduate; what careers they have chosen; when they get married; and have kids...

I truly do understand the insurmountable perils.
That this rescue logistically won't succeed.
But my heart does not compute -- I just cannot accept that these boys are going to die in there; either while waiting, or while attempting to get out.

It simply cannot end that way.

(Gah just getting in. This made me cry again.)

O/T and speaking of moments of levity...

Is it wrong that I'd rather re-watch "Reservoir Dogs" for the umpteenth time, than sit through the "It" remake?

I need something going on here in the background otherwise I will go stir-crazy watching that ABC live feed of the rescue.

Moral of the story: Australian Foxtel "cable" really sucks.

I also believe the rescue dives are underway.
Little, subtle things happening lead to me to believe that.
I believe the new green tarp hiding the entrance is because
they may need an area close to where ambulances will pick up
patients but that they need a spot to semi-stabilize them before
putting in ambulance. It may not be a pleasant thing to see.
Wonder how far their nearest trauma hospital is and what is the
expertise there? they need some top notch, competent medical
people to take over treating the boys when they come out. The
boys, imo, opinion will be in very precarious condition.
I also hope they have top notch EMT's on ambulance and at entrance with proper up to date equiment to treat boys.
even if boys make it out alive, their follow up is critical.

Weirdly, cannot see any rain on the live feed. Perhaps it's just light drizzle just now.

The ears have to be equalized. It is the same thing as when you are on a plane, your ears can hurt during pressure changes. Pinching your nose and blowing can relieve it, so can thrusting your lower jaw forward.

The have gone over this with the boys, and much of it is instinctive.

Press - The Dept of National Park is concentrating on finding cave window from outside up the hill. Exploring many areas. So can't tell if it's found yet. Will inform everyone once found. Another team is working on searching and redirecting waterflow
