I agree KKDJ that the rescue mission has been underway for hours. IMO the first set of divers are on their return trip.

Putting up the plastic is a frightening sight to me. It says they are afraid of the results when the divers return. Naturally the divers will be extremely upset if their child didn’t make it. As well as the authorities don’t want the media capturing these raw moments, which I understand.

Praying for 13 successful rescues and no injuries to the brave divers volunteering their lives to do this.

Please let today be the day they bring them out safely. Today’s is my birthday and that would be the greatest gift!

After a relatively dry day it’s is now raining in northern Chiang Rai. Rescue leader Narongsak Osatanakorn said heavy rain would likely trigger rescue to begin. Standing by to confirm if that’s the case. #thamluang #thamluangcave #Thailand

Wouldn’t rain create a rush of new water and new currents making it even harder to get out???

Earlier in Reuters Live Feed, I swore I heard a helicopter and noticed most of the guards at entrance looked up and were watching also.
Ive heard helicopters a few times.

Yes, I'm known where I live as the bird lady. In addition to having my own flock of feathered friends that I've rescued from abusive homes, I am a volunteer for tristate bird rescue. Birdie, above, was my first feathered best friend...he had a brain clot that took his life....but not before he last words.... I love you and then made his big kiss mimic.

OMG! I am known as "the crazy bird lady" here in Australia. I worked for years in avian veterinary nursing, and was the local bird rescue coordinator here on the Mid-North coast for a few years. I've got four feather babies that I've had for a decade and more; three turtledoves and one incredibly spoiled duck.

Birdie looks adorable, and what a character! It's lovely that he got to talk to you before he passed. African Grey Parrots are so amazing and are every bit the full-fledged being as any human. (With all the fun and convoluted turns that people have.)

I am keeping you close to my heart, and I'll keep your son in my prayers. You are not alone.

Happy Birthday and I have been praying so hard for a safe extraction of the boys. This has to work.

I have confidence that the escort divers will be the key and with one in front and one behind they should be able to pull/push the boys through the tough section.

I have faith this will work. Prayers continue.
