I didn't mention this earlier, but because of the oxygen problem
where the boys are, I wonder if they will now just have one expert diver escort each boy instead of 2 divers as previously mentioned.
If they do that the total extraction would go much quicker.
I sure would like to hear an update on how the boys did on their
diving lessons. Are they able to participate and take directions?
Are they able to stay calm and not panic?
Will they still drug them? Just thinking aloud. So worried.

Didn't we hear they got an oxygen line to the boys? Or did I dream that?

I had to google the math...100 mm is almost 4 inches.
I think they said 400 to 500 meters which would be 1500 ft.

Sorry for the confusion. I was talking about anticipated rainfall.

I am curious about diving. I am too claustraphobic to scuba although I love snorkeling.

When my grandson was 13, we gave him scuba lessons. He first learned in a pool and then they went to a lake. It did not seem like many lessons but he had been swimming since age three. These boys do not even swim.

Kids learn to swim quite easily. They seem upbeat whereas for me the situation would be paralyzing.

Obviously the experts feel it is a huge issue.

Is the water so deep they have to worry about the bends when they come out? Are there really strong currents? Are they swimming against currents? Is it that they have to be underwater for so long?

I notice more officers standing around on live feed. Considering it is almost 2 am there I still think the rescue attempt is being made.

I read that and then I also read that it was not successful.

Thank you to all who are sharing what they see on the live feed. I can't watch that with my slow connection.

I've been hearing back and forth on this too. But since they have said the boys are doing better I think they must have gotten oxygen to them. I sure hope so.

Quoting myself because I think this tweet from 5 hours ago lead me to believe that oxygen levels have not been restored:

Another authority is now claiming now that the boys will come out today as drivers becoming faint inside the cave due to falling oxygen levels and rising carbon dioxide. #Thamluangcave Still Thai news is not mentioning anything about an ongoing operation.

Considering how low the level was I don't think there would be anyone living to rescue if they hadn't gotten a line to them.

Just my opinion, of course.

Not sure if they're attempting the rescue just yet. They may just be setting up for it so the media won't be able to predict when it's going to happen.

Elon Musk’s 2 engineers arrive at Tham Luang cave with 7 more to arrive tomorrow.

I agree.
This whole thing has been absolutely amazing!
I feel very good about the rescue mission underway.

Take with a grain of salt:

ThaiMythbuster‏ @thaimythbuster

A woman claiming the wife of a very senior official claimed the rescue is underway, but her claims could not be confirmed. Chiang Rai governor Narongsak Osatanakorn was said to be in a meeting still deciding the course of action #Thamluangcave

(OMG I'm definitEly not taking the word of the wives...in Jessica R's case, the wives of of all kind of people related to the investigation provided zero correct information, moo.)

Regarding Elon Musk's plans - he's proposing "a tiny, kid-size submarine using the liquid oxygen transfer tube of Falcon rocket as hull. Light enough to be carried by 2 divers, small enough to get through narrow gaps. Extremely robust." Someone asked when he will have it ready because rains are a big concern. His answer from 20 min ago: "Construction complete in about 8 hours, then 17 hour flight to Thailand"

Didn't we hear they got an oxygen line to the boys? Or did I dream that?

There were two reports I saw about that, one saying it succeeded and another saying it failed. One of those could have been in one of the articles interviewing BR, who we've now heard was full of something else beginning with B.

I presume they can at least open up oxygen tanks in that chamber where the boys are if the line hasn't got all the way through?
