On CNN (TV) they just said all 12 rescue divers have returned and will commence tomorrow. Sorry if already posted. Am behind!

this is shocking to me they have been unreal in an amazing way

why it is not going like a ski lift kinda of is super bewildering to me team two??

interesting many of those that went in did not speak their language or the kids theirs

ponder that a moment that it is incredible to have have no way to communicate with a big person who is taking care of you of 5 hours in dark wet cold scary place

If there is truly a warning sign at the entrance to the cave re possible danger in the months starting in July then there lies the responsibility. It was not July when they entered. It was June.

But we have never seen published, is If the parents did a release that they allow their children to go two Miles into a cave. That, is my question and what I am thinking never happened.

If someone took my child, without my permission, into a cave like that, and this happened, I would be all over this as a parent.

Charges yes, mitigating are that it was not foreseeable as to the flooding. But still, taking my child into such a dangerous place without my permission, I would have very much a problem with that. And I am not a litigious person.

From what I have read, I don't think many parents in that group gave permission to go to that place as a field trip.

I have never seen it confirmed either, that the parents even agreed to have them go into the cave.

I agree. He's kept the young men safe and kept them going for a fortnight. Mistakes happen. The cave seems to be somewhat popular, and if the monsoon came early, well, we can't blame him for that. He's a hero, IMO.

Hopefully the Thai people aren't overly litigious, as we see in other places.
What most of you don't understand is that Thailand is ruled by
a military dictatorship. This military junta took over in 2014
by having a coup. Took over by force. It is not a democratic
society and thusly doen't matter what the 'people' want.
The legal system is a mish mosh of laws with some still in effect
that are archaic and not fair. Example- you can get life in prison for drug possession. And yet a man may only get a slap on wrist for killing his wife. Cause men have power over wife.
Charging the Coach would be a political public relations
nightmare after the world wide attention this rescue has gotten.'
but word is a lot of local are clamoring for him to be charged.
the jury is still out on what people think of this new regime and
personally I think they'd be foolish to charge him.

And looking at the map, they had to have gone deep into the cave before the rain started, presumably already passed the "narrow flooded passage."
When was he even intending to bring the boys back, as it seem that trip would have taken many hours.

I cannot find it now, but one thing that was smart to do was to leave all of the backpacks when they had a fork and went to the left. Apparently, they knew they were in trouble and they took off all their backpacks to move forward to the left.

<modsnip: repaired quote>

You are so sweet! All of you on here, I feel close to all of you as we've shared this ordeal with our Wild Boars. It's almost over, we are seeing even more miracles today, in a rescue situation where we've seen some earlier miracles (found the boys, less rain, etc.). As I said elsewhere, it's amazing that all of us on a true crime website are able to share in something which seems to be having a good ending thus far. Yes, we lost Saman Kunan, but he will always be remembered as a hero, and will live on in many hearts. It's times like these that we find a little light in the midst of what seems chaos to us true crime buffs.
Verdigris, you have been a guiding light of hope throughout also. Thank you, love.

They wouldn't leave them in the chamber that's only about 1km from the entrance, though?

They say they need the divers to get 10 hours rest before finishing the job, so that means the remaining 9 are at a point where they still need divers? Or is it just two who need divers and the rest are still being triaged before exiting?

Clear as mud, but very happy that it's gone well so far. Hoping our code red boy will improve overnight.

Yes, mud! I wrote that before I read about them needing 10 hours? Colour me confused, too!
Well, if they're all in chamber 3 (?) I guess they'll have a nice little picnic... and if the divers a resting, then the kids are too... but with only 1km to go...?
Something ain't jivin' here...
Maybe the divers aren't just resting, but getting all the gear in order again, airtanks, etc.... they wanna be done with it as fast as they can too! But gotta be done properly, and safely. I love the hero divers!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Being as he is their coach and he took them on extra curricular excursions I would think the parents did sign some sort of release. I doubt they would have specifically signed a release for a specific excursion tho, just that the coach could take them on some as well as coach them.

Thailand cave rescue: navy Seals confirm four boys have been rescued – live

"The rescue has been concluded for the night and will resume in 10-20 hours because “we’ve used all the oxygen,” according to the operation chief.

“Its actually just falling quiet here,” says Dan Johnston on the BBC News Channel. “There’s been a lot of activity in the past few minutes. It looks like people are leaving this site for the night.

“One thing to bear in mind is the tiredness levels of the cave diving exerts who are leading this operation. They have been working busily all day and it looks like some of them are actually leaving the dive site now.

“It looks like they’ve taken the decision that they have done as much as they can for today.”

The operation is set to resume at 8am local time with officials and volunteers buoyed by the fact that their method of rescuing the boys by diving has been successful insofar."

It sounds like they need to refill the oxygen tanks or get fresh tanks to continue the rescue.

So happy and so nervous! I’m actually pretty confident in the capacity of rescuers, Thai service men, and volunteers. And super super confident n the Wild Boars will to live, that will ultimately put a happy ending to this ordeal.
Anyways, going back to the Cenote to pay tribute to Chaac, god of rain and water, who lives in Xibalbá (underworld, caves) and offer some blood to ask him keep the boys and rescuers safe.
Kidding, no blood (shifty eyes)

These boys study English everyday in school as a full time subject.
Most of the locals also speak English.

I thought I’d read that it’s 2km from chamber 3, this map (I enlarged it a bit) seems to confirm. It makes sense to me that they’re all exhausted and need rest.

Not sign a release for a specific excursion, which is a dangerous cave trip? Yep, that would have gone over really well in the US. Just because you are fine with letting your kid to train for a soccer game, doesn't mean you are fine with your kid going on a dangerous trip underground.

I'm not saying I would be ok with this. I'm saying I think this is probably what happened.

Thanks for that! I've been looking for a graph like it. It does clearly explain that if they are all in chamber 3 they still have a way to go and can't just walk out. I'd been wondering why the delay if it was just a walk (like everyone here). Thanks Spellz!

It changed from last night and they can't walk out after chamber 3?

Well the parents don't seem to have any anger or animosity towards the coach. They don't blame him and they wrote a letter to him saying so. I assume they have good reason for that.

Oh no! You mean if they had more air tanks, they'd still be coming out ...and they'd be done in 10 hours!
I'm both so happy and so frustrated!
My stomach can't take any more! Even my knees are shaking now - lol! They really are!
