Dear JDG,

Yes, and a diver has lost his life.

The coach and these boys have a strong connection, a bond they had even before this tragedy.

Separating these boys from this coach if he is imprisoned, I believe, will hurt the boys.

This is a unique situation, in my opinion. These boys need to continue to connect with their coach. They are a "team", like no other team.

Could another "punishment" be enacted, as in the coach is to assist the diver's family by working the lands and house for them?

In a lot of instances I dont think this is right

He had no idea monsoon was gonna hit that is what caused it

to err is human

intent matters

there was no intent here - he was mentering young people and obviously from the video we have seen seemed amazing (by their faces)

he is suffering along with the kids

he does not deserve IMO to do nothing but get well on all domains

is everyone lawsuit happy over there like here - culturally moo

About the coach possibly (or not) facing charges:

The number one reason I hope that's not the case isn't about him, it's about the boys. I'm willing to bet that THEY not only don't blame him for what happened, but would be extremely upset to see the man who helped keep them alive be punished.
I don't have one, but I know the water is gone after chamber 3, so they can walk the rest of the way.

I hope maybe they can be stretchered the rest of the way...
enough room?

not Emma but THE Emma on Twitter

They expected to get the first boy out around 9pm but got him out 5:40pm. Going better than expected. Boys wearing full face mask holding on to divers.

Yeah - Where's my SunnyV? ❤︎

You are so sweet! All of you on here, I feel close to all of you as we've shared this ordeal with our Wild Boars. It's almost over, we are seeing even more miracles today, in a rescue situation where we've seen some earlier miracles (found the boys, less rain, etc.). As I said elsewhere, it's amazing that all of us on a true crime website are able to share in something which seems to be having a good ending thus far. Yes, we lost Saman Kunan, but he will always be remembered as a hero, and will live on in many hearts. It's times like these that we find a little light in the midst of what seems chaos to us true crime buffs.

someone here said there was a warning posted at the entrance to the cave re entering July thru October.
They entered in June. No charges should be filed just on that alone!
But I think this coach is a hero in these boys lives in many many ways and should be treated as such.

Four boys confirmed rescued with another operation planned in 10 hours
The boys travelled 1km underwater with the first coming out at 5:40pm local time.

The operation chief, Narongsak Osottanakorn, says four out of the 12 boys have so far been rescued and were taken straight to hospital

Rescue workers now need 10 hours to prepare for the next stage of this remarkable operation.

The cave is reportedly known to be dangerous and off-limits.
"The Tham Luang Nang Non caves are known locally as being dangerous and off-limits, a place where parents warn their children not to venture - particularly during monsoon season."

I think your idea of a way for him to 'give back' would be much more appropriate than a prison sentence. Imagine getting out of that claustrophobic cave and then being dragged off to a tiny prison cell that's not much different from the caves? That would risk causing massive psychological damage :(

And I think the caves need blocking off during June to November, not just a sign saying not to go in during July to November.

I agree. He's kept the young men safe and kept them going for a fortnight. Mistakes happen. The cave seems to be somewhat popular, and if the monsoon came early, well, we can't blame him for that. He's a hero, IMO.

Hopefully the Thai people aren't overly litigious, as we see in other places.

Hiya GutInstinct! I'm great, just sitting here watching as we get the good news. I am crying a bit, so it makes it hard for me to type.

How are you? Still hanging in there?
