Differing reports about whether the weakest or strongest came out first.....wonder why the confusion?

I read the Australian doctor checked them over on Saturday our time and decided to take the weakest first.

Yet, they are leaving the coach for last and he must be very weak as he gave his food to the kids. He's gone for 2 weeks with no food and I read he cannot move!!!

I doubt that he still gave his food after they were found. I read he gave whatever they had to the boys during the first days. Once they were found I'm sure everyone got enough food.

It's only 4 kilometers from the entrance to where they were found. I'm not sure your 6 hours is correct.
That's how long it takes rescuers to get to the place where they are located, from what has been reported.

It takes six hours to get to where they ended up. They had to have intended to go deep into the cave looking at the map to end up where they did.

there athletic kids being kids

I dont think it went that way tho

they were playing and water started coming like a boogey man i do not think it was like lets go 6 hours in

it became a fleeing survival endeavor

anyone in an environment like that --- a tsunami is coming you run the other way

there really isn't any choice

imo

I understand that, but I thought you were talking about their initial entry into the cave.

Saw the good news on my Yahoo news feed - 4 boys rescued and 8 more to go - this is nothing short of a miracle.

  • #846
I would sure like to get verification as to how many boys are out and where the rest are. If it's 4 boys then this will take another couple of days and it's supposedly raining cats and dogs there.

It has to be a huge mental boost for the remaining kids/coach to know the first mission was successful.

  • #848
If it's raining it's not good news for the rest of them.

I agree, when the cave is dry and under good circumstances going to the back likely won't be 6 hours. That's still assuming the reports about them headed to the back wall to sign their names were correct. I don't know how Thailand is with privacy after the fact, but I hope once this is all over we'll hear about things like this.

Thailand Cave Rescue Live Updates: Four Boys Are Out, 9 to Go

The first four rescued players were at the hospital, military and local officials said. But it will be hours — from 10 to 20, according to the search chief — before other boys can start the trip. Divers will be replacing air tanks and supplies along their route until then.

...

Experts say the rain will not immediately make water levels rise within the cave, but it greatly increases the urgency of the operation.

6 hours when you swim/dive. Not 6 hours walking in the dry cave. It's about 2km.

The extraction of the four boys took place more than two hours earlier than the most optimistic deadline set by rescue authorities on Sunday morning.

Either way it's very deep into the cave. So it's not like they were going to enter, write their names and exit quickly.

That's how long it took divers in the beginning, when the caves were flooded.

It did not take six hours to get there on that fateful day.

Hi hi hi. Found a corner of very rural Yorkshire with a little bit of internet! Thank you to everyone who messaged me with the good news, got nearly 300 posts to catch up on but I gather so far they have got 6 boys out?!?!?

Can’t wait to get home, get my own pesky kids to bed, make a decent cuppa and read all of todays comments!!

Sorry for giving you incorrect info it seems Sky got it wrong as most are reporting just 4 out at moment.
Say hello to Yorkshire for me-my home county! I’m in Lincolnshire now and I sure miss those hills!

Yes, it absolutely is! And part of this miracle is how it has brought the world together in love and determination to save these children. As I said upthread, it really gives me hope. Since there is a documentary coming out right now about Fred Rogers, (Mr. Rogers) it reminds me of one of his quotes that seems very applicable right now. Something his mother told him:

"You will always find people who are helping,'” Fred Rogers wrote in the Mister Rogers Parenting Book. He continued: “To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers — so many caring people in this world.”

Im wondering this, given the number of divers who entered, if the boys who are staying in the cave have been moved along a little closer to the exit. Going at a slower pace but placing them in a larger, 'cleaner' (using that word in the broadest sense) area until they, too, can be rescued.

In the presser they said 4 are out. So I think that's the real count.
