Someone in Thailand reached out to Musk, via Tweet. He initially responded that the people there (Thailand) had it under control. He didn’t deliberately insert himself, but he then sent tunneling equipment, etc. And of course he then started thinking of and working on different solutions- a guy like that doesn’t just turn his brain off and go golfing. Maybe they won’t need his help, but how can it hurt?
Regardless of whether they use his mini subs for this, these subs will help save lives in the future.

I saw that one too.
He looked like an adult to me, I agree, possibly a reporter.

The one I saw was on a Thai FB-page, looked like someone filming from behind a tree.

What a m*****!

I've been wondering about the coach too. They said he will be the last to come out but I wonder if it's because he is deceased. I sure hope not.
OMG, I hope this is just sketchy reporting/loss in the translation, and has no indication the Coach is not with us? I think he would do everything possible to supervise the welfare of his charges during this crisis...and hang in them come what may.

Prayers for all concerned continue with fervor!

Hello all you loverly people! Wait, don't be afraid of me - I'm just not usually on here at this hour -- going on 04:30 (yes, a.m., morning, before dawn) here in hot, muggy Japan, so just checking in on our boys.
I have a quick Q, please...
This concerns me:
"Thailand cave rescue begins with four out of 12 boys freed in day of drama
Eight remain trapped in cave in Mae Sai, with rescue operation to resume within 24 hours"

Twelve boys -- eight remain trapped.

Now surely Michael Safi knows there were 13 souls trapped in there.
The coach is only mentioned once in the entire article, somewhere obscurely in the middle.
Why is Coach being squeezed out?
What angle would this be taking?

Why do they want us to forget about Coach?

Is it because he was responsible, and they are planning to take legal action against him when he gets out, and they do not want to upset MaeSai13 supporters?
Or is it because they are wanting to shield him, hoping rabble rousers will forget about him and not demand his head on a platter - while just being contented about the 12 boys saved?
Or is it because he is in very grave condition, and they're not sure if he will make it, and don't want to say anything at all.
Or is it because he has already died, and they'll report it when this is all over?
Lotta "Or is its"
This may already be somewhere here in the posts...
I'll go back and skim. but if anyone who may know something would like to weigh in?
TY! ❤️
Oh, also... it says eight remain trapped...
but not necessarily in conjunction with, or specifically in the same sentence as 12 boys...
It's a headline and a subheadline.
Do only eight, in total, remain trapped? Is Coach already out?
They say four boys, but is it really four boys & one coach out?

To me they should be saying Nine remain trapped, if nine are still trapped... ya know?

Thailand cave rescue begins as four of 12 boys freed in day of drama

RECAP at 9:10pm: The Governor of Chiang Rai has confirmed that FOUR of the boys have safely left the caves and are now in hospital. The remaining NINE will be evacuated on Monday.

I think the pods are already in Thailand.

Arcata’s Wing Inflatables, SpaceX collaborate on Thailand cave rescue

At 5:15 p.m. (Friday) Musk’s jet arrived at ACV, where the Wing team loaded five of the pods on board for transport to Thailand. Eight more flew out Saturday morning at 8 a.m.

I would find that SOOOO unacceptable if it were my child. Guess in Thailand they don't have any choice in the matter.

I hope the code red was indeed a rumor, and there's not a boy in the hospital in critical condition with his family completely unaware.

this is a huge operation, run by the government and paid for by the King.
He who has the gold, makes the rules. I guess he's made the rule.

If there were any SNAFUs, it would be a huge embarrassment for the Thai government and that won't be allowed to happen. Hence, tossing the media away from the cave entrance. (which I agree with, totally)

It will be a huge PR thing if it all works out, tourism is their major source of money, so they want the world to see a 'good outcome'. PR.

After the success with the first four, why would they be waiting until tomorrow (Monday) to rescue the remainder of the boys and the coach? Surely the divers don't need that much rest! Could they be awaiting more or different type of equipment? Waiting for the capsule thingy from Elon Musk for boys who are sicker or not as strong as the first four were?

The frustrations we are having with there being a military dictatorship in Thailand and the government controlling the news sure points out the difference between what we have here in the U.S. Doesn't it?

He doesn't need anyone to buy his stuff, he has plenty of "resources". Although, your suggestion isn't a bad one at all! I think there are plenty of great applications for this type of technology.

And who doesn't want relief from traffic congestion :)

Very welcome. There is enough to worry about!

Although I am still concerned about the controlled information that comes out.
Reporters are going at every angle to get any info which is adding to the confusion in reporting...happens all the time, but this situation seems to be quite excessive to say the least.

None of the parents or other relatives have been speaking out at all. Normally you would think someone would be beyotching about something or someone. But here? Nothing. Nothing at all.

In reading about the culture of the Thai people, what with the "saving face" and never admitting to anything negative, it sounds like they have been repressed for a long, long time.

<snipped quoted post>

It wasn't just him though. It was a team and special company in Arcata who built it and helped with the idea. They worked really hard to come up with this and to do it quickly. I would think all help would be appreciated. We don't know yet if they will be used or not. The pods are there now and there are still 9 to rescue.

If you read the article, you'll learn more about the WING company and the team who dropped everything to help.

The issue now is with the low oxygen levels.
