MOO. The main reason for the delay in going back in is because the primary divers being used to bring the boys out are the
British Expert Cave divers. The other divers mentioned do not have the skills, experience or know how to pull this off.
I believe there are only 8 cave (all British) divers there. Other
divers and thai Navy Seals are assistants only. Probably going
to 3rd chambers, etc.
After 10 hours of straight diving the British need to eat and sleep
which is why they estimated they would start again in 10 hrs.
Regarding the conditions of the boys, take it all with a grain of salt if it comes from a military official. I'd rather hear leaks
from the citizens, guards, public, reporters, etc. than from the officials. The military officials must save face and have no more embarrassment from this endeavor.
The day the boys were found, Thailand's King put out an order
for Thai Navy Seals to all get cave diving training like, in his words, "the British" have. He doesn't realize that the "British"
have years and years of experience and a quickie training class
could not accomplish what the British have done.

Just bringing this ↑ forward -- good post

According to divers who have made the journey, this is capable of maneuvering through all passages

Well they won't really know until they receive it and try it out. They may not even need it by the time it gets there! But I'm glad they'll have another option (if it can work). Incase the monsoon traps the boys inside longer. Praying the weather will be on their side!

The first boy out was Monhkhol Boonpiam, 13, known as Mark.
The second boy was Prajak Sutham, known as Note.
Number three was Nattawoot Thakamsai, a 14-year-old asthma sufferer whose parents have already lost a baby daughter to cancer.
Lastly came Pipat Bodhu, 15, aka Nick, who was not even in the team but came along as a friend of the goalkeeper.

Ekkapol Chantawong, 25, coach
Duangphet Promthep, 12
Somphong Jaiwong, 13
Mongkol Boonpium, 13 aka Mark

Chanin Wiboonroongrueng, 11

Ekkarat Wongsookchan, 14
Panumart Saengdee, age unknown

If needed, they could use either the aluminum device or the inflatable device for supplies. The Guardian had a video of divers carrying in food to the boys in plastic bags:eek:

It's pretty bad when the NYT and DM are putting out the same story with differing facts and I can't decide who I should believe.
NYT revised their story, no longer stating that the coach was one of the four out of the cave:
Thailand Cave Rescue Live Updates: 4 Team Members Are Out, 9 to Go
By The New York Times

  • [UPDATED at 6:23 p.m. Eastern, July 8]
The Times has reporters on the scene and will be providing updates regularly. Go here to see maps and diagrams of how the rescue is unfolding.

• The first four rescued team members were at the hospital, military and local officials said. But it will be hours before other boys can start the trip. Divers are replacing air tanks and supplies along their route until then.

They divers didn't take out the older 16-year-old boys first or the younger 11 and 12-year olds boys. That's interesting. One of the boy rescued today has a known health problem, asthma.

I really wonder about the reporting from everyone. The DM earlier, only identified 3 of the boys but said 4 were rescued.

All of the news has said the parents don't know which boys are out, yet the DM is now saying they were met by their parents as they came out of the cave!!!

I doubt it greatly, as they were whisked away for medical treatment and the parents would say if they saw them. No?

So now the sun is up in Thailand. Its almost 7am there, we might see some movement soon.

The confusion is hardly surprising given the sheer number of people at the scene, the translation difficulties and the time zones, not to mention that information coming to and from the boys is not instant and that we're not immediately privy to it.

We know four are out, one of whom is not too well. By tomorrow hopefully they'll all be out alive, and the details we are getting now won't matter.

Another hour and they should be moving back into the cave. They have to try.....the divers spend all their time in water, diving!

At the presser it was said all 4 are healthy so the code red seems to be an error as well.

Thanks for this. No mention of their major error. Classic.

Dont know how to copy tweet on my phone. NBC is at the hospital saying the entire 8th floor has been sealed off for the boys, getting specialized care.

Yes, they need to be quarantined because they could have been exposed to a variety of nastiness in the cave.

I hadn’t seen this article yet and it emphasizes that this is truly an unprecedented cave dive rescue.

Florida divers weigh in on Thai soccer team cave rescue

“Muller, an expert cave diver who helps map and protect Florida’s underwater caverns, says the task facing rescue divers in Thailand is unprecedented....

Muller estimates only about 300 cave divers in the world are skilled enough to reach the boys and maybe 10 that have the ability to rescue them under those circumstances, some of who are on the scene.

”They have the best of the best over there right now,” Muller said.”
