It must feel so surreal to the boys already rescued and in the hospital.

They went on a bike ride to a cave adventure, and then came the waters closing them in, then, after weeks of hunger & darkness & wet & damp & uncertainty, to have lights & foreign voices & hope & help rise up from the very waters that had trapped them; then more waiting & liquid food, kept company & aided by cool Navy Seals & docs; then that unimaginable journey out, immediately followed by rides in an ambulance & helicopter, only to arrive to a warm, clean, safe hospital, where one could request and receive whatever food sounded best; and after sleeping a night, experiencing what must be the incredible joy & relief of seeing friends-fellow survivors arriving too, and yet still having to wait to hug their parents. Really, how other- worldly it must all feel.

My thoughts as well while watching the helicopter evac videos thinking about how surreal it must be.

Can you imagine how they're going to feel when they hear they are going to be incredibly special & celebrated guests at the World Cup finals? :)

Just getting a chance to pop in now. Did I see EIGHT of our boys are out? 4 yesterday and 4 today?
Had a bad afternoon and evening yesterday. Today may be more of the same. Reading here is definitely lifting my spirits.
I can’t say enough good things about everyone involved in this rescue. Seeing everyone come together is a beautiful thing. I hope they all know how amazing they are.

ETA... I haven’t read the posts since last night. Sorry if this has all been covered over and over.

Great Post !

You covered it well.

I have been thinking about what it was like when they were all in that dark spot for days and then heard noises from the 1st scuba diver coming out of the water. As much as they probably thought it was a rescuer I bet a lot of them were terrified thinking it was an alligator or sea monster coming to get them. It must have been terrifying and then changing to joy and excitement. :)

Is that live live, or like 2 hours ago live? Presser? VIP visit?

Yes, I'm thinking VIP visit. It says live, but I don't know what to believe anymore with media coverage lol! The time of day seems right, dark night...8:53 pm.

Reposting link as it states unconfirmed reports that four more have been rescued.

Lots more info about the boys and the rescue method used.

Also there were problems with the media . This is posted in the feed by BBC

9.55 a.m GMT

Media complaints

Rescue officials have complained about the behaviour of some of the hundreds of media personnel covering the rescue, accusing some outlets of hacking into authorities' radio frequencies and publishing inaccurate information. They also accused another media outlet of flying a drone, which they say affected the take-off of a rescue helicopter.
Omg...media drone allegedly interfered w rescue helicopter..oh my goodness

It looked to me that a high ranking official was congratulating the rescuers. At the end the guy on left saluted the high ranking official.

Disgraceful, and imagine the worst case scenario - drone brings down helicopter carrying rescued boy.

<snipped quoted post>

You can have conscious sedation, which I suspect was used. You are not intubated, you just don't feel pain, can react to orders i.e. assist in movements and you are only sedated, not unconscious. It would prevent panic, make them very easy to manoeuvre and allow them to turn, pull, walk etc.
Its usually Versed, sometimes a mix of a few other things. Used very widely as it is very, very safe. Its no accident that the diver who did the medicals is an anaesthetist.

These details will come out later, in a book or an announcement. IMO
