I have a feeling the coach is dealing with his own embarrassment and guilt on top of being starved and exhausted. He probably doesn't want to say much. I hope they go easy on him. He's young and I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson.

I hope he isn't being sued or anything. A lot of crops have been lost because of all the water being pumped onto surrounding farmland I read.

I wonder if 10 days without much food is long enough for the
doctors to be concerned with "Re-feeding Syndrome" where you
must be careful to not overwhelm the body's ability to re-take
food.
I know from rescuing animals the syndrome is very real and can
be dangerous to a starved body.

They are speaking Thai among themselves but I think it's the coach that is speaking in English to rescuers. Also, feel your pain Elainera with videos/browser crash and found VPN helpful.

Thank Seattle. What is VPN?

I'm pretty sure I need a new pc, browser updates and a better broadband connection lol!

They said they were giving them special food that is used to feed astronauts. It's a smaller amount of food with lots of protein and nutrients.

My God I feel so stupid now! I should have tried to play the video on my phone! Didn't even think of that (I rarely use the phone to browse). Thank you to everyone who tried to help me out. Thankfully one website worked :)

I'm still so giddy over this newz, can't sleep. Only caught about 3 hours. I watched the clip, they seem remarkedly well, their youth being on their side I'm sure. What a moment it must have been for the 2 UK divers! I'm so thankful the coach is fluent in English. The space they are in seems smaller than I imagined. Very uncomfortable too!

This tweet has the transcript of the dialogue between the boys and the two divers. The boys seem to be surprised that they want to take photos. "Tell them we're hungry" one says.

Rain is forecast to restart on Wednesday. I hope the water is low enough tomorrow, and the boys well enough, that they can get them out before that. Can't they put an oxygen mask on them and piggy back them out? Or tie them to a diver?

Oh, no. I hope that transcript is not completely accurate-- that the first divers had no food and said "tomorrow" when the boys said they are hungry? I heard something about food when I watched the longer video on facebook but they were all talking over each other and it was hard to tell what they were saying. I hope they can hang on until they get food to them.

Yea I noticed that too. I have a feeling this diver will be criticized ...

Has anyone found updates? I'm wondering if the doctor has reached them yet.

Gosh they're cute. I just want to fly down to Thailand and give them all a huge hug.

This article identifies two British heroes who reached them first.

Divers continue efforts to save missing Thai boys from cave

Thailand cave rescue - updates: British divers John Volanthen and Rick Stanton first people to meet missing boys and coach

The boys have been provided with energy gel to eat, the Thai navy SEAL unit said on its official Facebook page.

"Power gel and sustenance equipment has been brought ... to the team ... and we've sent people to keep them company until the transport plan can begin," it said.
