Ms. Facetious- to answer your question about how would the
divers know the area in front of them was clear-
the 'expert' cave divers from Britain have radio communication
in their equipment (helmet or mask ?). Saw this in an article
on the original 3 Brits.

I totally agree.
This was obviously just a bad decision to go there at that time and not realizing how fast water could give them problems.

He was just trying to show them a good time and I am sure he knows by now how bad of a mistake it was. There is no need to add to the tragedy by making it worse on any of the boys.

Lets just bring them home alive so all can be well again.

I totally agree with you too, Hats. It will hit us hard here if they don't make it out. We're so used to sad endings, it's the nature of what we do here I guess, but this time we've had the amazing high of the "found alive" banner only for our happiness to be dashed. I feel sick about it, I really do, if it was one of my kids I'd have to be sedated.

"Representatives for Elon Musk are in talks with Thai authorities about aiding in the rescue of a boys’ soccer team stuck in a cave, said a spokesman for the billionaire.
Musk’s companies could help by trying to locate the boys’ precise location using Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or Boring Co. technology, pumping water or providing heavy-duty battery packs known as Tesla Inc. Powerwalls, the spokesman said. It’s unclear whether Thai officials will accept the offer."

Why are people offering this type of equipment so late in the game? This is driving me crazy! More pumps should’ve been used from the beginning. All this high tech equipment should’ve been used from day one.

Why haven't they been using them? Aren't they already there and only 2 more are coming now?

"Rescuers are making every effort to extract at least the strongest of the trapped footballers from a Thai cave before heavy rains forecast for Saturday, according to a military source."

"The pressure we are experiencing comes from working against the weather, as the forecasts tell us there will be heavy rain in this area within 48 hours," he said."

"Navy source says two of the boys are in a weaker condition.
He said the 25-year-old coach, who sacrificed his share of food, is also feeling weak.
The source dismissed reports that water levels inside the cave had dropped by 40 per cent."

"The navy source said rescue coordinators face tough choices and there are differences of opinion among those providing assessments."

(Chiang Rai Provincial Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn) "I have asked the doctor and the SEAL team who are working on the rescue operation to assess the situation and see what risk level we can take."
"For example, if we can accept the 90 per cent safety level, and if all conditions are at that 90 per cent, then we are ready to bring them out. And that's what we are prepared for."
"The navy source said the biggest challenge for the boys would be a 200-metre stretch of completely flooded cave that makes up part of the 600-metre section between so-called "Pattaya Beach" and Chamber Three, where an operation centre has been set up.
From Chamber Three it is still another 2 kilometres to the cave entrance.
Some parts of the journey will be walkable."

I'm not even in a monsoon area. We have had incredible oppressive heat here in SW Ontario. Some days here 111 F. with the humidex. We were to have storms hit here by 5 P.M. Sun is still shining. So I would think weather there can be just as unpredictable. Given their season and climate.

It is now daylight- 6:30 AM Friday morning at the cave.
Let's hope we hear some good news about forward movement.

I know it is said to take about 5 hours to dive out but if they drain the water so they can walk most of it, instead of diving, perhaps they are hoping they can walk out much faster than that? I am wondering if they hope to try to drain the water enough that all can walk out as a group instead of one at a time? I'm hoping we will see them all appear at the entrance in the last hour before the heavy rain starts again. Praying for a miracle still.

There were reports today that the draining doesn't work, or not enough. And when it starts raining it might even fill up again. So at the moment I don't have much hope that they'll be able to walk out, it seems diving will have to be done.

If you read the article on the front page of the Chiang Rai local
newspaper, the local official says as of Thursday, they still have
no plan for bringing them out.
He makes it sound as though he's leaving it up to the people
working inside the cave. Let's hope someone makes a decision soon.

Yet what are they breathing all those months if they stay. We have a good friend that just died yesterday. He was simply cleaning out his barn in May. Spring here. Yet wet, damp and chilly. Treated for several months for a lung infection. In and out of hospital several times. Each time rallied. 2 weeks ago sent to our world renowned Hospital In London Ont. Too late. On a respirator and died. Apparently he was inhaling something from rodent etc. type droppings.
