The cost of searching for Kyron

I"m going to close this thread since there is a new thread started today.

Thanks, I just read it. So many twists and turns in this case. If that turns out to be true, honestly this case is getting ridiculous.

It will certainly put a new spin on the case.

I've lost track of the spins, btw...

Are we allowed to post and discuss this comment on another thread?

You can't quote. You can discuss the comment in terms of unknown whether true but you have to link. :)

:angel::angel::angel::angel::angel:

could this mean they have a signed confession??

If they have a signed confession, they can pat themselves on the back for having the best law enforcement agency there is for being able to keep a secret! By now, there is atleast one leak to the media and we haven't heard squat!

However, we can hope, can we not!

What if Terri's lies and not cooperating according to DY and KH were based on her not wanting to tell the truth because she was with her lover that morning. Now that an affair has come out they have quit saying she needs to cooperate and tell the truth. That would make sense with the fact that LE says she has been cooperating too. She has answered there questions other than to 'not remember' some things. It would also fit with the timing of video requests from stores outside the home area. If she visited those stores because they were close to MC's home or at least in between the two areas that would make sense in that she got busted for the affair and an RO and had to move. Kaine filed for divorce so no need to lie or 'not remember' some things from that morning. I could see where she would think that where she was didn't have any bearing on who took Kyron. I could see her not wanting those things to come out and being nervous and looking and acting guilty because she was worried about the rest of her life crashing down around her if she told the whole truth. With that scenario it makes sense that LE spent 3 hours with Kaine bringing him up to speed, him appearing crushed and devastated because now he can't think Terri has Kyron anymore which makes it more likely Ky is not with us anymore. I think the timing of the affair coming out and KH shutting up and the PC's that were planned by him and DY eing cancelled fits? Anybody wan to weigh in?

The reason I don't think MC was involved any earlier than 6/5 or whenever he came along is that we have not heard of any texts, etc. prior to Kyron's disappearance. Sure, there could be some, but they have not been mentioned, only ones after that eventually turned sexual. And she does not seem to be too careful about her phones.

If it were me having an affair I would delete texts just in case my husband decided to use my phone. The ones they found were after KH left the house. I know in some instances texts can be retrieved but that would take some time to weed out of the bits and peices they could find on a phone's memory. IMO the ones they found were not deleted.

Oh, are you calling about the Kyron Horman case?"

"I have no idea, I might be, but I do know I am calling about a small bloody sock and a suspicious car."

"Well, if you are calling about the Horman case I can't talk to you, you need to call the tip line."

"I just did. That is obviously futile, and someone needs to do something and connect the dots and at least check the plates. Are you going to help or not?"

"No."

Giving posted this on another thread. Thanks

After reading this story maybe they need more money for training so fiasco's like this do not happen

And if a bloody sock is not considered a tip...I guess the 3000 tips they have must be stupendously wonderful..and yet...where is Kyron?

Are they even really looking for Kyron Horman? Or are they just persuaded the stepmom did it (did what: kidnap, murder?) and not pursuing other avenues or looking for a potential body? She might well have done "it"; I certainly don't have the information to know. But the police can be wrong -- think Jon Benet Ramsey for example -- and one thing is for sure if we can't do better than this.

Exactly. Maybe it was just an example of incompetence in the extreme, but it sure does sound like they don't want any evidence that doesn't mesh with (what is obviously) their established theory.

I think locals should press LE for answers as to what ever happened to this potential evidence.

Meantime, a fundraiser was scheduled for next Wednesday, to raise money to help cover high costs of the investigation. On Sept.1, all Godfather's Pizza restaurants in Portland, Troutdale, Forest Grove, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Vancouver, Clackamas and surrounding areas agreed to donate 25 percent of their profits for the fundraising event. Visitors can also purchase Kyron bracelets and buttons at those locations.

Good for Godfather's Pizza and all the good people trying to find Kyron. (Colored Text By Me)

Well, in all fairness, LE have been tied up with Dede's (unusual person) ex-boyfriend and his helpful advice about where to search.

I thought LE did not need any money? Does money gathered go to MCSO? I thought that was what taxes were for. I'm not trying to be against any collections or donations, just wondering what they do with the money.

From the news story sounds like it is going to MCSO. jmo

OR it could be they aren't taking guff that doesn't jive with the evidence? At the last presser, didn't Gates mentioned that they had a ton of evidence so to speak?

Weird that I didn't use the quote function to what I was responding to; had to think about it, sounds like it was about the bloody child-size sock that was found.

I'm not sure what you mean by "guff", but I sure as heck hope they're not refusing to look at evidence just because it doesn't jive with their current theory.

Mayberry is right. In California we're still looking for Mitrice Richardson, and no mention of money (and trust me, we don't have any). California also is giving the Duggard's something like 20M.

Why is this sheriff so focused on money. Who cares -- just as long as we find Kyron.

If the UN can forgive the Haiti debt, we can certainly pour however much it takes to find a missing precious little boy.

This sheriff is starting to really irk me....

MOO

Mel

I thought I heard on JVM the other night that her remains HAD been found recently? And positively identified as well...no?

Yes...here's a CNN link:
http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/08/12/california.remains.found/index.html

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Skeletal remains found in a remote area of Malibu Canyon on Monday are those of Mitrice Richardson, a California woman who disappeared last year, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca said Thursday.

Yeah. She posted on july 22, twenty-ten, before Mitrice was found.
