The cost of searching for Kyron

It's particularly interesting to note that the last thing Kaine or Desiree said about Terri was after he was successful in ousting her from their home. It would almost appear to be "mission accomplished" by all the negative statements regarding her.

I wonder if him no longer casting aspersions on her was part of the moving out agreement.

On the other hand, it would be pretty brazen of KH/DY/TY to make such a claim if it were untrue, knowing that LE could easily refute them and show them to be liars.

No, It's called "free speech" KH/DY/TY can say anything they want about TH. It's their opinion. LE cannot refute any claims by them because it's an ongoing investigation. Any comment by LE, will be looked upon as "official." If TH wants to refute claims stated by KH/DY/TY. That is more of a civil court matter.

That's what it looks like to me, too. jmo

Maybe things have changed recently, and Terri is cooperating and talking to them now?
As has already been asked, how long has it been since those tearful pleas for Terri to cooperate? Two weeks? Lots can change in that time.

Oh, and the funds needed by the DA's office would be separate from the funds needed by the Sheriff's office. Prosecutors usually have their own investigators to help them prepare for a trial.

They must think they are close to bringing someone in and charging them. I think if they had found Kyron, the media would be on it.

This case is now officially beyond weird.

And what did Schrunk mean by "a good resolution"?

"District Attorney Michael Schrunk also spoke at the meeting. Schrunk did submit the DA's office request for $196,000 for a deputy D.A. and a limited-time investigator to continue the Kyron Horman investigation.
Schrunk said "we are confident of a good resolution (in the Kyron Horman case), and legally.""

To me, a good resolution means finding Kyron alive. But I'm wondering if he means "we find the body, arrest someone, and put them in jail."

Very bad word usage, IMHO. Just another weird thing.

ETA/typo Freudian slip into Strunk as in Strunk and White.

That sentence by Schrunk is worded very strangely. What does he mean by a good resolution and legally?

Everything ever said by LE in this case has been open to about 5 different interpretations...no surprise that this is too. It just seems like another way to keep things vague.

ITA. Very carefully crafted words and strategically scripted statements. jmo

LE didn't make that statement. KH did. I don't remember him being an "official spokesman" for MCSO.

Hence the word "apparently" and question mark. Are we only allowed to talk about the "official statements" from MCSO? If so, this board would probably not exist. :)

I agree in part, but whether someone walked out on a LDT isn't a subjective opinion -- it happened or it didn't. That's what I was referring to, sorry I wasn't clear. And if untrue, LE definitely could at some point call them on having lied about it. I would be afraid to state such a brazen lie.

Opinion about TH, though, I totally agree...LE can't refute that since everyone's entitled to their own feelings and thoughts.

I find it very, very interesting that LE said that TH had been cooperating.

They could have taken the route of "No comment."

Instead, they chose to make a solid statement that's directly opposite what kH/DY have been saying.

Why?

I think it could be that TH is fed up to the gills with the shenanigans and her last 'trump' card is to hold out til last possible minute

my opinion only

Like I stated: LE will NOT cofirm or deny anything on ongoing investigations. KH stated she walked out. KH also stated she is not cooperating, LE stated she was. KH seems to be making alot of statements. I will not go on any KH statements. If it's a lie, it would be up to TH attorney to press the issue. It's a civil matter.

Maybe the "legally" meant no more discussing TH in public. That is not what we have said, we will not endorse this nonsense. Or maybe it just meant they will find a perp and put them through the justice system.

Just an odd add on to a sentence.

Unfortunately, that's true. However, if LE is refusing to name POI's in this case. Then, that's what we have to deal with.

Hope it's okay to link to a different article regarding Staton's statements after the meeting. (And yes, I know they aren't the most reputable news source per some people)

County Board Approves Additional Funds for Kyron Horman Investigation
http://blogs.wweek.com/news/2010/07...itional-funds-for-kyron-horman-investigation/

In this article, I noted this comment:

"Outside the county board room, Staton told reporters that Kyron’s stepmom, Terri Moulton Horman, has cooperated and agreed to all requests so far from investigators. He declined to name any person of interest in the case, but he said an upcoming press release will answer many of the public’s questions about the case."

Answers???? Really?? Are you ssuuuuurrre? If so that would be NICE!

I think a shoe is getting ready to drop. I don't think it's going to be a tennis shoe, more like a steel toed boot. MOO

I would surely hope so. However, the upcoming press conference/release will most likely not address anything new.

Is he referring to next Tuesday? So nothing before then?

What would the "other shoe" about to drop be? I am not getting how anyone can be arrested at this point, unless someone has confessed. Does anyone else see how? For instance, if someone now swears they saw Terri leave with Kyron, what would be the charge? That is where I am lost.
