I can pretty much guarantee that if you were to show RC's "criminal" record to any LEO, lawyer, PO, etc., and then referred to it as "extensive" there would be some suppressed laughter. It wouldn't even fill an entire page. Hardly "extensive". IMO.

I highly doubt they think his lengthy criminal record (there is no dispute that these were in fact crimes so needn't put in quotes) is a laughing matter, particularly now that his child is gone. They might OTOH have trouble containing the laughter if told what little TIME he ever did for repeated drug (weapons etc) arrests. JMO

No one in my family has ever been arrested, we must be close to sainthood or something.

The individual who made the comment was referring to this charge, not the person's record, his criminal history. And those histories can be a history of petty crimes, misdemeanors, (non-DUI traffic violations, disorderly conduct, failure to disperse) or violent crimes against people (assault, rape, kidnapping murder) and property (e.g., arson, burglary, home invasion, fraud). There are people who start out as petty criminals and stay that way, and others who start there and escalate to violent crimes. Then there are people who start violent and get worse. And some start out as "delinquents" and straighten up with age.
