Ok just wondering why he would have kept this knife at all if it had been used in this crime? Secondly, why keep a bladeless knife at all? Doesn't that just make it a useless handle? Odd. :moo:
It is an exacto knife which means you can buy replacement blades, so not just a useless handle, I own the exact same knife.

Bedroom has 3 pill bottles, water bottle on a shelf.

Nestle water bottles sit on the dresser beside the bed; Scoyne is describing the translucent bottle caps

There were also two Nestle Pure Life water on a table near Rafferty's bed. Cap is translucent, partially see through.

Scoyne describes a Oxycodone bottle with prescription made out to Rafferty

Rafferty's room had 3 unlabeled empty pill bottles. Also had water bottles similar to ones McC alleges he used to wash himself after murder

One of the pill bottles seized was for Oxycontin. Prescription was in #Rafferty's name

A prescription Rafferty had for oxycontin and oxycodone. Filled December 28th, 2008.

Rafferty leaning on the back wall of prisoners box. Just sighed.

Showing photos taken in Rafferty's basement. No significant items were found there, Scoyne says. No more questions.

RaffertyLFP: Crown finishes questions; 20 minute recess.

I don't know about you guys but when i get home from shopping I empty all my purchases on the kitchen table I then take the receipts out of all the bags,I then start taking tags off things and and make two recycling piles one for paper one for plastic if there is something I may return I put the receipt on the fridge. If the receipt were for like chocolate and hair dye then i would put in a paper recycle pile on the table. I am thankful this receipt was found, but I don't understand why it was ever kept. Anyone else find it strange to keep such a receipt.

Maybe MR or his mom was going to give CM a make over and decided to keep the receipt in case she didn't want one? Then the could return the dye. :what::floorlaugh::moo:

That is odd. Maybe the <modsnip> was keeping it for a souvenir. And why keep a knife without a blade?

Showing the master bedroom. It was used by Rafferty's mother

Showing a bedroom that has been converted into a computer room.

Now shots of Rafferty's room. Somewhat tidier than McClintic's. Has a bed, dresser, book shelf, closet.

On break for 20 minutes.

McClintic had testified that she had cut out part of back seat of #Rafferty's car with a knife after Tori's murder #sl

Court shown a comparison photo of blue knife found in Rafferty’s home compared to drawing provided by Terri Lynn McClintic #sl

Court now seeing photos of Michael #Rafferty's bedroom. On shelf, 3 empty pill bottles found #sl

Police found Nestle Pure Life water bottles in #Rafferty's room. Significant b/c police found water bottle caps amongst Tori's remains #sl

Police found pill bottle prescribed to Michael #Rafferty for Oxycontin and Oxycodone dated Dec. 28, 2008 #sl

Police searched #Rafferty's basement and found nothing significant #sl

Doesn't make sense that he'd keep the knife that was used to cut the seat. Or, TLM could have seen his knife before and made that part up.

I do find it weird usually reciepts are thrown away.... but maybe just maybe he for some reason put it in the drawer. Who knows with him. JMO

sometimes if i buy hair color i save the receipt...til husband sees the box..in case he says "no frikin way" :floorlaugh:

If LE searched my home, they would find 4 or 5 of those knives (mostly without blades still in them) as well as 4 tool boxes and a cabinet full of tools, a kitchen drawer full of hundreds of paper receipts waiting to be shredded, coats, computer storage media, prescription pills, .........and hair dye.

I don't see much unusual in the list, unless the computer media contains some evidence, or there is some evidence on the pea coat, or some written evidence found.........or something more definate.

As to the fact that MR lived at home, this is a well documented phenomena known as "Boomerang Kids" and isn't at all unusual.

The statistics are that the majority of kids completing their University studies return to living at home. Others who joined the workforce in factory or construction jobs found themselves unemployed in the recession and many of those jobs have not come back. Woodstock has a high unemployment rate and few employment opportunities.

The high cost of student loans, cost of living........combined with high unemployment (and underemployment such as part time jobs) for this age group (some estimate it as high as 40% of the population, and with the addition of low wages.............has combined to create this scenario.

The parents of such kids are known as the "sandwich generation" squeezed between supporting their own aging parents and the return of their adult kids.

I wouldn't make too much of the fact that MR still lived at home. Most adults his age are doing the same.

There was probably no blood on the blade so he probably thought that there would be no evidence on it and just put it back in the tool box

The defence already knows what the Crown's case is, they would have found out during the disclosure process and would have received copies of all the evidence that Crown has (even evidence that the Crown will not be using during the trial), none of what is taking place during the trial is a surprise to the defence.

But does the defence have to disclose to the Crown all the evidence it has? I asked that a few days ago, but didn't see an answer.

apparently he likes to buy things in "two's" if he likes something..that might be his buying pattern.:twocents:

Maybe another two for one special. One knife in MR's car and the other in the house toolbox? :what:

Defence will cross-examine Scoyne after 20-minute break

When court resumes, Derstine will be cross examining Scoyne. Was given the option to do so before the break, he opted to wait.

RaffertyLFP: Actual missing poster being submitted as evidence. The flyer is likely of the same printing as the one found at McClintic's

Police find drive w separate pics of Terri-Lynne McClintic and #Rafferty. One photo was him smiling w name tag: "Mysteriously Yours, Mychol"

Poster looks the same as the one McClintic had.

Poster is in the courtroom. Carnegie shows it to the jury.

In another drawer, they find a poster of missing girl #ToriStafford. Similar poster was found at Terri-Lynne McClintic's home

mysteriously yours...pleeeeseeeee...has MTR crawled under his defense table to hide in shame yet?:twocents:

One question I would have is since they found a bigger hammer sitting in the front closet...........if MR had planned this abduction beforehand, as is alleged by the Crown............why would he not have taken that hammer and garbage bags from home?

The presence of the heavier hammer in his home would also indicate that me that he has some past experience with it and knows which end of it to use to strike.

Probably lots more to come out yet though.............IMO
