I will guess that's covering over the remains by LE, the press was on scene very quick, and remember the body was seen by a jogger do it was visible by passers-by. MHOI found it. The image anyway. What is that blurred out? A pillowcase?![]()

A toybox or a toy box that holds blocks? I don't think he could possibly mean a large toybox as it sounds like it was something to carry blocks around hence him saying the pillowcase replaced it. I'm not choosing any side here don't misunderstand my post.

I take no offense, questioning helps work out theories!
But IMO, it's another case of him giving replies that contradict each other.
Simply, I don't trust his versions.
I think there was a good-size toy box; and he was so busy making a reason why it's gone or he was removing it from the the home he " over explained ".
We don't even know if there was a pillowcase or toys, we only have that from him.
Personally ( IMHO) she was not in the playground that morning anyway.
Either if us may be right or everybody wrong, I am glad for your reply and it helps to make us think!
Reporter says they checked with the ME's office this morning and was told "that toddler's body has yet to be identified."HOUSTON — Family, friends and neighbors are coming together to honor Maliyah Bass, the 2-year-old girl who went missing a week ago in southwest Houston.
The vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sunset Crossing Apartments located at 10630 Beechnut Street, the last place Maliyah was seen.
Those who plan on attending are asked to bring teddy bears, stuffed animals and balloons to honor the 2-year-old.

Wow. I can understand no cause of death, but an I.D. is baffling to me. I can't help but wonder how long this baby was actually out there in the elements.Reporter says they checked with the ME's office this morning and was told "that toddler's body has yet to be identified."
Not a good look if they don't attend yet given the neighbours reactions it may not be a good idea.Thank you, for correcting the time.
Wouldn't want to miss this...wonder if mom and bf will attend!
Wow....could the hurricane concerns have slowed things down this much? Alternatively, yes, if the remains were in the elements for more than the original suggested timeframe....identification could be more difficult. What a disturbing case. But aren't they all.Wow. I can understand no cause of death, but an I.D. is baffling to me. I can't help but wonder how long this baby was actually out there in the elements.

Given what I've seen in various online videos, it doesn't appear that it would be safe for them to attend. Amateur opinion and speculation. Not a good look if they don't attend yet given the neighbours reactions it may not be a good idea.

I haven't seen that.
Very weird and sad. This is so confusing!
Why in the world wouldn't the ME be able to identify MB this long from when found?
It says ' that toddler's body as yet to be indentified.' Its almost like they are saying that toddler may not even be MB?
Something is just so off with MBs case. Is the mom refusing to give her own DNA so they can ID MB?
Surely it isn't taking this long to get those results back.
It sends shivers up my spine. What condition was this beautiful baby girl found in?

Yes, other relatives could be used to identify Maliyah. It's used to identify perps in cold cases now quite frequently.Even if mother refuses to give DNA sample, there are other biological family members I think would be willing to give a sample. She does have a bio father somewhere. I’m not entirely sure how it works, if a bio mother and father have the highest chance of match or if more distant relatives like grandparent or aunt/uncle could help identify. Moo
