State asks if there are multiple scenarios were it’s not legally allowed to extract the data. Portnoy says that’s correct.


State is asking about changing the date in the extraction data. Portnoy says every single track point, and the entire extraction, was calibrated with the correct times and dates.

With the time that has been taken today with the forensic analyst, and with AT LEAST CA left to testify, if no one else, I do not believe it is likely that the state will rest by end of day. I suppose they could just ask CA if she knows how her passport came to be in KA's possession, but I suspect the state will have far more to talk to her about. I am looking for a lot of "I can't recall". JMO

Other than her sister, who will never admit that she thinks KA murdered MO, even if she may, I wonder if KA has any other female friends or acquaintances who do not believe she killed Mo? We already have seen that two of her good friends actually called LE and gave them vital information pointing at her. Think the defense may offer up some character witnesses for her? I don't see where they can offer up much of any real defense, and they certainly have not done a very good job of poking holes in the state's case, JMO

I don't know man. If I had a sibling who somehow acquired my passport and used it in such a nefarious way, and for whom the evidence piles up to show almost certain guilt, I don't think I would be supporting them in court.

I wouldn't either, but apparently, KA and her sister have always been very close, and have traveled extensively together. IIRC, her sister is into yoga and such as well. Not remotely suggesting that her sister would do any such deed as KA allegedly has done, but I get the sense they may be very much alike, in a lot of ways. Short of perjuring herself, I expect she will likely do and say all that she can to protect her. Also remember, their parents have been in the courtroom, supporting KA. JMO

Now looking at a Forensic Examination Report. Generated Jan. 5, 2023. We are looking at messages pulled from a WhatsApp extraction. There are 54 messages in the conversation. It is in Spanish, with a translation in English. It is an inquiry into rhinoplasty surgery.

Indeed. People who genuinely buy a weapon for self-defense have no need to use an alias when they are learning/practicing how to use said weapon. Certainly makes it seem nefarious.

Wonder how the Defense will spin that -- will we hear that "Kait" is big on protecting her privacy and so used fake names?
