Im not sure how far back in the thread you have read but there has been discussions here regarding the morning of the 19th on heworth road being a 'clean up' day.
A former memberof WS also pointed out that there was a flashing light sequence in the paned window of the property on the corner of Heworth Plce and various suggestions were made as to which type of vehicle could have such a light sequence.
It will depend of course on your own personal research as to what you what you think was happening on Heworth rd on the 18th & morn of the 19th and if a clean up was being done who was doing the it.
Personally I think there was a clean up in operation. Under the wall of the Limes on the main road there appears to be a lorry which is either a tanker type/road/drain cleaning vehicle, or has 2 large liquid containers on it.
The flashing lights could possibly be and I repeat could be the light sequence of a mobile diverted traffic/traffic cone dropping vehicle. I have attached a highway video that show this type of vehicle in operation at night to demonstrate the sequence of lights which operate on vehicles and traffic cones skip to 3.08 in video.

Arrests happened few months after CL disappearance .
Over 100 officers involved.How many of these officers were also involved in the above mentioned undercover operations?
Did they mix both investigations?
Did any officers go for example “ hmm what’s that funny smell in that room then ..”

Now in his report ( officer attached to drug squad say ) will conveniently neglect to mention that ‘funny’ smell ! Imo

I understand that PACE regulations would make this difficult should there be some crossover and this would need to be dealt with in the correct procedural way.

Hi, so I’m new here - I’m around a year in of doing intensive research on this case. I have been through this forum, there’s much information that fits my thinking and there’s also much that equates to little green men. This is my take on it, based on my experience of crime in general. Do not rule out the unlikely as you never know.

It’s been brought to my attention the theory of the “New Boyfriend “ and I feel as a starting point it would be good for us to work together to try and rule in or out this possible suspect and who may fit the frame.

Ok - We know that at least two people mentioned the “New Boyfriend” The work colleague D.O. I’m going to call him for this exercise colleague A. Because actually working along side her he is the closet colleague to her. And also ex boyfriend Dan, now we know Dan referred to a new boyfriend sometime in the previous October so in my opinion by the following March he is no longer new. Also by the following March (over the Christmas period of 2008) I’d of expected the new boyfriend to be known by Jen and Suzy and perhaps her parents and wider social circle. He isn’t, Colleague A mentions him a year down the line, we can look at it three ways - it’s true, it’s false, or it’s in there for an ulterior motive.

So let’s move to her rucksack - which I believe is one of the most useful pieces of information- it’s missing - we can only guess the contents. We are led by the police case to think inside was the chef whites and hair straighteners. If this was the case then it’s natural to think she had left her house on the evening of the 18th pots from the day in the sink, taken her rucksack, slippers by the door, bed made as she’s not slept in it and gone to the “new boyfriends house” slept over and then who knows what happened.

Do we have any evidence to dispute this scenario - firstly the straighteners may not of been in the rucksack at all - they could of been broken and binned, they could of been left elsewhere at a married mans house or car etc. Someone may have them unable to disclose not because they have harmed Claudia but because it would compromise them in some way. Another issue with the New boyfriend theory is her calls to her Mum and Dad where she talks about concerns of walking to work - in my mind it illustrates to me that she was thinking of walking to work in the morning. Why at 9 would she leave to elsewhere when she has to be up so early the following morning?

Of course Alleywayman could be the new boyfriend - he could be new as in a relationship but not necessarily new as in new to Heworth I have a possible name for him - he works at another department in the college I’m going to name him for this Colleague B basically because he works in a different department however he is within the (Nags Heworth circle). He appears at 7.15pm and walks to the side and back of her house. There’s a point here - he walks at approximately 1.4 metres a second. If he leaves Claudius front door and walks to 15 Heworth place it would take him one way 2mins exactly. Once on camera when he disappears and reappears he does this in 1min 8seconds so that means he cannot of got as far as 15 Heworth place unless of course he ran outside shot of the camera - which I feel is highly unlikely. So then if you theorise where else he may have gone it matches someone walking down the alley to the rear of Claudius house and back. So in my opinion - the alleywayman isa key suspect. - he appears 7.15pm - he’s on foot and I think he enters the alley with the rucksack on his left shoulder - it’s more obvious when he leaves. Where’s he come from? The nags? He would of left there at around 7.12pm if he was in there, could of he have got off a bus there, arrived in a taxi? Did he visit any of the local shops that evening?

My only other thinking on the “New boyfriend” theory is unfortunately sometimes whist the fairer sex might like you as a friend they sometimes don’t float their boat and I feel it could of been used as a way of managing admirers expectations.

@Blonderabbit Do you know that D_O and D_W were talking about the same boyfriend?
If CL had stayed out all night on 17th /18th Would this mean that she had not slept in her bed since night of 16th?
or had a meal since 16th?

This is why I have always thought that even forensics would not be able to correctly ascertain when she had her last meal.

With regard to alley man
Police believe that those who had anything to Claudia were local and known to her.

So did alley man know that they would appear on cctv footage?

If they did know but this did not concern them, does this suggest that if they were the murderer that it wasn't premeditated-Not meant to happen?
Did this same person then start the reporting of the sightings on her way to work and the backpack so as to cast suspicion on an abductor on the way to work?

Or was alley man just doing a deal and was this not associated to Claudia at all or even was the alley man sent in to throw police off the scent of her staying somewhere away from her house?

What I always have felt is a consideration is this:

If it was premeditated, the alley man was a ploy
If it was an accident then the sightings are also a ploy

Perhaps J_K didnt want people to recognise D_W as the man with a fringe @Vixey The one who was at her door a few days before or was that another man with a recognisable fringe P_H who ran a pub in another area of York and was arrested by police as they were considering charges of PTCOJ.

In the cctv footage from the bus shown is one of the cars seen parked a silver or white Cortina.

Was this also the same vehicle that was seen heading from direction of Uni towards Heworth Road and caught on camera at Melrosegate Post office early morning.

For those that remember Cortinas. (For those that dont, this was a ford saloon that was replaced by the Ford Sierra, a bit bigger than the ford escort)

I have looked at this closer and it is not a vehicle. It is the headlights from the Breaking car that is lighting up the wall at The Limes and bouncing off the trees @keep-it-real
If you look at the video once the cr has passed there is no vehicle and you can clearly see this.
In addition, as I suspected, the amber lights are no longer flashing in the window of the house at Heworth Road / Place corner

I think if @Vixey is able to tells us how some examples of how the word 'cat' were used it may help.
In my opinion these particular words Claudia used in her texts were not nicknames as some have thought but common names for drugs.

Apologises for late reply FG Christmas preparations and all that
In one frame I get a glimpse of a cab front which is facing in the opposite direction to Claudias house, and another frame where the the obect/vehicle appears to be freestanding which could mean that whatever that long object is it may have been bought to that location and then the cab part detached.
Its very difficult to get a seamless frame by frame of any edited footage but I can only work with whats there and the basic tools I have avail. Theres no doubt in my mind there is an object of size there if I can obtain better software in the future and the detail of the object becomes clearer I will update here.
