Do you think the sighting of a lady walking the opposite way in the same location at 5am-ish the next morning on the 19th was a decoy,(deliberate) lookalike or genuine coincidence of a lookalike?

The footage is at the end of the video that KIR posted earlier in post 534
I’d say coincidence and the woman must have come forward!

Could be anyone, but that sort of defeats the purpose of a decoy if you have no real idea who it is

I can not see the authorities messing up if a decoy was used because Claudia was at risk. I think the people have been genuine lookalikes or deliberate lookalikes. There's maybe the possibility that some of the sightings at least were Claudia (I think the Posting footage in the afternoon was indeed Claudia)

I think we need to make up some more phrases than the 'Moscow Rules'and ''Double Dutch''

Maybe the ''Treble Tibetan'' phrase now needs introducing

It's hard to rule out virtually anything in this case, but my opinion is its a lot more simple and very local, involving the 2 usual reasons for murder, namely sex, money or both
Yes a lot more simple imo

I just can't get my head around the decoy thing, I think claudia just got in way over her head and paid the price, what she was involved in is the crux of the matter I believe

She was spinning out of control, as I believe one of her inner circle once said

I just see the complex mysterious connections Claudia had, Tubb warned off and threatened and A case very difficult to solve. Police reaction to Claudias disappearance was very quick, hardly any CCTV secured and many errors made apparently! Just vanished and so much luck on the perps side with a spotless Clean up!! Yes I think a lover involved but I feel there was a bigger can of worms solving Claudias disappearance could open. No one in York has spoken and the same story appears to be repeated by a selected few. Claudia I feel is often spoken of as like she was a young child, and appears IMO the only story /life we are shown is the 2/35 years of her life. Where are her real friends? Whitewash!

Do you feel the police are any closer to solving this case now that her 12 year anniversary is upon us ?

I agree that the case will eventually be solved, but only after Claudia's remains are found.

I think one of them will eventually tell all, either after a falling out, because of fear, or because of being caught doing something else and offering up some sort of deal

By them I do not think it’s the usual suspects

Just catching up on the last 10 pages or so of this thread. It’s definitely CL posting a letter. It won’t be anything important, some tax thing for HMRC or something. I don’t think it’s of any relevance. All this talk of look-a-likes and decoys, people in wigs, if it wasn’t so tragic it would be funny. She was a 30 something cook at a university, it’s not a spy novel.

Why was PL not liked by the nags regulars, did he make them feel uncomfortable because they’d all shagged his daughter? I find it stretching credibility to the max that he was seeing someone, one of her friends, from that pub. Again, it’s somewhat laughable. I think the reason SC and JK are the friends who speak about her as opposed to malton girlfriends is they were the two she socialised with most when she went missing. Stop chasing shadows and inventing mad theories. It’s a lot more simplistic than that motive wise, but sadly I can’t see it being solved and I think the anniversary will pass without much media attention regrettably

Think PL was not considered to be a people person maybe looked on as a bit hostile/standoffish

Agree completely apart from the all bit ...not fair to all involved !

he was a police prosecutor and therefore by implication knew police men and if you’re not quite kosher ie NH customers, you would be uncomfortable in his presence and that would be understandable .
