Y

You know there is probably someone who knows for sure about the police man and probably gave his name to police
The course of action that would then follow is that he would be treat as a suspect and ruled in or out.
If he was ruled in is where the Police would:

Convict-Which clearly they haven't
Or
PROTECT???

When looking at someone else actions and also looking to analyse their written words and verbal words [interviews etc] then I always find it helpful to first write down what I would have said and done. Again this isn't personalised. You can always do research on what other people would have said and done. For example, the Mccanns...... If I had found one of my children was missing I can categorically say that I would NOT have left the other two children alone whilst going back to the tapas restaurant to tell people Madeleine was missing. There's the question I guess as to whether Kate was too drunk to know what she was doing. Would I have, as Kate did, refuse to comment with the police? No, I would have done everything and anything to find my daughter. Strange behaviour . So going back to Claudia in the same vein, in 2010, would I have said as JK did that I have to move on in life and that Claudia would understand this???????? NOOOOOO. I might have actually thought it, like I have to move on now, but I would never have said it, because it wouldn't have been the "normal" [yes, I know NORMAL is a generalised word and that there are perimeters ] thing to say. If my best friend was missing, I would never have stated that! Some things are thought, some things are said. There's moving on in life alongside the continuation of finding out what happened to Claudia.
Yes-I think most of us thought that JK saying this was strange. JK is also universally unpopular as I have found, both on this thread and on Facebook private groups.
I concur with you over the Madeline McCann case.
I know we have a shortage of doctors but..... However, these thoughts of mine are for the a different thread...

Which basically brings us back to where the police are with their last failed charges. And they are not after a lone policeman. If they were protecting, the previous arrests and failed charges wouldn't have gone ahead. So we are waiting for someone to come forward to substantiate enough evidence for what they already have.

Yes I know they are for a different thread. I am just trying to correlate people's behaviour. Because [and I'm not linking the Mccanns to this thread] often there are links between motives, methods , reasons, actions...........and murders.

That's slightly naive if you don't mind me being honest? I always call it how it is.
Law enforcement is a huge area
The Heirarchy extends beyond Police and Chief Constance level-There are "other services" and if Claudias Perps were part of an "observed" group of people or if Claudias Police friend was undercover then the Bigger Prize would always take precedent and Local LE would be told to back away. They may even be told to "Go through the motions" Arrest and release.

I agree with you. You're thinking bigger than the box. But surely if anything involved undercover work, then a load of evidence would be there?

Yes but it's whether they want to or can release/act on it

Hi all, adding some random thoughts and points.

I'm sure it was a pub in Acomb that had its floor lifted and investigated? Must have been some good probable cause for that. Also seem to remember she socialised there with an ex cheffy colleague, no romantic link that I know of. I find it interesting JK and SC apparently did not join the merry band that went on there. Why not? Too much of a dive? Not fans of what was going on?

Re JK. On the "official" FB page for a long time SC was posting about being heart broken and not being able to move on. Despite the fact her friendship was relatively short (altho they called each other sister etc). I wondered if JK became exasperated with this and so put her flag in the time-to-move-on-now camp to make a point. This was from reading literally all the posts in that group, until I left it last year. Changed my viewpoint slightly since I found out she is with PR though.

Claudia's long term boyfriend may have been a dealer who went nuts when he discovered Claudias secret fling with a cop

Yes PI and possibly the reason for the very quick police call to action

Yes it was The Acomb and the Landlord
The Acomb-Landlord, Paul Harris.
Was the Chef-Anthony Newby who was at York Uni. From 2007 until 2009?
Harris was having charges of Perverting course of justice considered against him
This would suggest that he may have not told everything about Claudia or one of her relationships-Did he have one with her-He was the right age group, being 46 then, albeit a little too young for her normal tastes for 50 something men and from the construction industry.

Agree with this theory. Also it must have become obvious when they both appeared together in public that SCs grief at the loss of her friend came across as genuine and heart breaking while JK presented as more clinical. An observation which won't have been missed by many and was commented on in CL forums.
Take a look at these interviews from March 2019 and see what you think:

Yes if I was Police I would have her in today and go over every single movement of hers for the month leading up to Claudias disappearance and the few days after

How on earth has this spiders web of people who know part of the puzzle stayed intact for ten years? I just feel that if all the main players truthfully put forward their piece, it would all come together and we'd see the whole picture finally.
I know, simplistic and wishful thinking on my part. Sigh.

Perhaps Mark William Thomas could make for the first time a useful documentary on"Claudia Lawrence-Her Friends and the suspects".
That might provide some traction and movement?

Both times two taxis were called so 8 people max went. Pretty sure PR went both times, JK SC didn't. Unsure about AC. Honestly I've forgotten a lot of faces and names I wish I could be more helpful. Oh yes Carlton Tavern that's the one thanks!
Perhaps she preferred non studenty pubs with an older clientele.

She did also go to some places you’d expect someone of her age to go to. Dusk, Vudo.Is there a link between the three landlords I wonder? The Nags, Vudo and The Acomb?

Did she live with her ex in Acomb? Before she moved to Heworth?

@RachelZachary There is a link between the owners of Vudu and the proposed building of a casino to be run by them on the land of a scrap metal dealer. Lee Horwell who was a man Claudia had a relationship with. This relationship broke up Lees marriage
The casino didn't happen and eventually Lee sold the land for £800,000 to a company that developed student accom on in 2018.
