It would be easy to do though @Nikynoo Halliwell in the media-Claudia goes missing-fake medium jumps on the rumour wagon?
I’m not sure what you mean
Ordinarily a normal case goes through a designated officer who liaises with the CPS but a case of this magnitude, the SIO ( in this case Dai) would liaise with the nominated CPS officer for this case only and they will be in close contact on a regular basis for reviews of the evidence. Does that answer your question?
Yes, thank you!

The medium described him to a T
Are you discussing a psychic medium? If so we do not allow the discussion of anything to do with psychic's.

Hi I am Angleterre and I am not Lucy Pope as major Lang has asserted. I worked with Ray Galloway when he was a Detective Inspector in another north west Police force and therefore I am not trying to hide anything. I have been in hospital having had spinal surgery and that resulted from an accident that I had whilst in work, As a police officer , and working on the case of R V R Grimes
I have tonight finally had the chance to finish reading through major Lang’s blog and it makes interesting reading
I have already assembled a list of 11 questions / observations however, I will have to think how to post them while remaining within the WS rules and TOS regarding victim friendly. I may tomorrow consider constructing these into a private conversation group chat
I need time to process some of what I have read
But a word of caution major Lang - you have already convinced yourself that I was Lucy Pope even when others questioned otherwise in particular about my going to school with CL
I didn’t and the poster was correct that I was older and I left senior school at 16 in 1986
So if you were so sure and had tunnel vision about that then what else may you have missed through applying the same tunnel vision
I say this with respect and to remind us that sometimes we are so entrenched that we see what we want to see and not what happened
I do applaud you however for your excellent blog and clear dedication to finding out what happened to CL
I look forward to conversing more with you
Off topic but just thought I would share the reason for my being medically retired from my job and losing my Police career as an SIO This is the link to R v R Grimes newspaper report at the time . His grandma subsequently died of her injuries. If not allowed then I will delete.

Callous grandson gets nine years for attack

I should state that I had a bad accident whilst apprehending the perp which caused me to be paralysed temporarily and to change my life as I knew it!

Yes I picked that up Angleterre, thanks. For the record, I'm a female. And I originate from DS Galloway's neck of the woods but have visited beautiful York many times, once attended a summer school at the university (staying in Goodricke College and dining in CL's workplace, the Roger Kirk Centre) and a member of my family was a student there at the time of CLs disappearance and had her room searched in March 2009 while she was at home on the Easter break. So I was naturally gripped and very concerned by the case and have tracked its progress over the past 10 years.

You asked about a possible reason for the prompt police reaction:

In addition to the previously mentioned L_ucy P_ope/CL connection, a very serious assault was carried out on a young woman in York in Feb 2009 by a violent & dangerous man who was subsequently jailed for life. Perhaps the police suspected his involvement?
Coincidentally, his partner was a teaching and research fellow at York University.
Life behind bars for violent York rapist and kidnapper

Quite rightly ou have to be careful Today for fear of upsetting people-male or female or transgender and so I will use the word "they" in future :(

No way, I've spent years reckoning you were a fella!

Sorry to hear about your accident @Angleterre - I notice it all happened 15 years ago, have you been retired that long? You must have been relatively young. And presumably that perp is out by now.

Come on Cagney. You know how it is when you're working under cover. ;)
Good to hear from you and would love to hear your views on current theories on this case or indeed some new theories.

It happened in 2003 believe it or not and I was in hospital for a week with a suspected broken back BUT because I was very fit and ran marathons, the Drs said that my fitness saved me and they merely x rayed me ( no MRI) and I was released with soft tissue damage as my diagnosis. Over the next 5 years until June 2008 ( happened June 2003) I struggled with back pain and had to take more and more pain relief until it got to the stage where I could hardly walk . Anyway, I got up to go to work in June 08 and fell to the floor, paralysed.
Medical diagnosis was spinal cord compression- the jelly substance in my discs L1-5 had come out and had wound itself around my spinal cord, compressing it and causing nerve damage. So 16 years of pain .
I was retired in 2010 after 22.5 years service and I was devastated but I am very lucky because I can walk and I get a police medical pension so that I can stay home with my children and watch them grow up, they were 18 months old twins when I was paralysed.
So I am very lucky really albeit I miss it tremendously even now x

My main theory remains much the same as ever, and is the popular choice. I think Claudia's killer has already been arrested and released and I think at least a couple of the others involved know what happened. Unless someone spills the beans, or her body is found, there just aren't the forensics to bring a case even though I believe police pretty much know whodunnit. Depressing, really!

That said, I need to have a good read of Major Lang's blog at some point. School holidays have kept me busy but will hopefully have a bit more sleuthing time as of tomorrow!

Yep, my theory too...the police have already interviewed the killer...and they know it...it’s proving it that is not possible
