no. Why would she go into hiding?
In the beginning no one wanted to think the worst .And you don’t blame them .did she leave wanting to leave the area. ?
Was she hiding from someone?
Was she being kept somewhere against her will ?

@FromGermany
Happy"? Her sister said, C was again and again disappointed by men and treated badly (similar wording, no link). Seems, the family did know half of the men and her friends did know about the other half, different men.

Sister may have held different standards and expectations of how a man should treat a woman than her new friends at the NH. She did carry off that air of content well though when you look at photos and her demeanour on her walk home. Her neighbours referred to her as happy go lucky and cheerful. Perhaps it was all a facade.
I would say she was a normal woman perhaps too kind for her own good .

I think there was a sub plot to the divorce which wasn't reported by the DM. Other contributors may know more.
I don't agree with the sub plot theory. He was in lust with her with his puppy dog eyes, he wouldn't be part of a gang bang

But police wouldn’t confirm without absolute proof.
I don’t think the dvd need to ever see the light of day.
It was water under the bridge and happened months and months before that fateful morning.
I think that her new boyfriend have a lot to answer for !
Not least of all him not coming forward after ten long long years !

How do we know the dvd was months before that morning? Because it was supposedly linked to the marriage break up?

You see how the dvd must have muddied the waters ?
I would expect you to talk about the boyfriend and not necessarily the dvd .
After all the police are still enquiring about the boyfriend who has not come forward and not about the dvd !
If the boyfriend is innocent he should come forward and help by being eliminated.
If the boyfriend is guilty and is reading this or someone tells him about it ,he should do the right thing and let her family know where she is .
He might even get away with it because even this thread would probably die away !
It was probably an accident anyway.
I don’t think there are that many evil people around as people imagine.

I don't believe that there was a new boyfriend..............(also consigned to myth)

I don’t agree.Cl told her colleague... probably by text...as I read it... that she (cl) was with a boyfriend till early morning.
Why may I ask you don’t believe cl had a new boyfriend?
Btw does not necessarily mean a new lover

1. because the person waited a year before telling someone.
2. from what I can tell, the colleague was male? If so, I think it highly unlikely that she would tell him and not, say for example, her friend Suzy.

A year before the police said they heard about it you mean
