Do the police really have anything on the NH lot or are they just a lazy excuse ? I don’t hold with the idea the CPS didn’t have enough evidence. Even circumstantial has had a positive result in past cases. To put it out there they know who “Did It” but can’t take it further doesn’t sit right,IMO .
The Police don't have enough evidence to support a conviction. Circumstantial evidence will only get you so far, it doesn't always convict.

The killer must be suffering at the moment - imagine if he talks in his sleep!

Why would they be suffering, there other half may have been complicit in whatever happened to CL

Well l'm at home ill and l'm amazed at the amount of posts over the past couple of months.

I need to recap by reading the blog posts to understand how this all fits together.

Some initial thoughts are:
  • I think l understand why the police took the mattress from the Nags Head - the rooms were being used for illicit liaisons
  • I have always believed in the SVD existence; could it be the room was identified as being at the NG? Or was it earlier?
  • The sex game gone wrong has stuck in my mind
  • The GHDs being missing makes sense..if someone grabbed a few things to make it look like she left that morning
  • CL's mum suggested the slippers by the door were not hers, sourced in earlier post on earlier thread
  • Was the bathroom downstairs, as it may explain the toothbrush charging in the kitchen
  • Did any of CL's female acquaintances change their hair colour the day before CL went missing..was this for a special occasion e.g. a video appearance..?
  • Is this colleague lying about CL pulling an all nighter? It's an odd thing to remember a year later. And we are led to believe CL was very work conscious, this doesn't fit so well imho
  • Remembered last thing..the employer didn't call CL until 10am because that's around the time the breakfast service would have calmed down
Thoughts?

WRT to the toothbrush and bathroom. Yes the bathroom was downstairs next to the kitchen. At least according to this article...

What happened to Claudia? - BBC News

So I don’t think it was strange that the toothbrush was in the kitchen. I haven’t read anywhere that it was an electric toothbrush.

Personally I think she spoke to her mum on the phone and then at some point after that she was getting ready for bed, brushing her teeth, heard knock on the front door, so she put the the toothbrush in the kitchen on the way to the front door to answer it. After that I’m not sure what happened. If she was killed on the premises, then I think she couldn’t have been dead and in the house very long, as I think it takes only 30 minutes of a dead body being being present for a cadaver dog to detect cadaver odour. And surely they must have used cadaver dogs?

I’m not sure on the significance of the hair dye being left. I think I’ve read that it was a brunette hair dye and she had recently turned brunette before she disappeared. So maybe she was just re doing her hair... especially if she was naturally blonde and had roots? Or maybe she wasn’t happy with the shade so was changing it slightly. I’m not sure what her natural colour was. I think she was going to tidy it up after brushing her teeth but then the door went.

I think the person on the CCTV was checking the coast was clear before she was brought out of the front of the house. Or possibly collecting her bag with the her chef’s uniform in to make it appear like she’d left the house in the morning. I think I read that there was a cereal bowl in the sink which made it look like she’d had breakfast. This could easily have been set up by someone she knew and who’d been in her house before.

To Greece.....?

Is there a Greece connection? Weren't CL and SC planning a holiday there?

There is a Cyprus one but AFAIK that individual is not a named suspect.

Hmmm..

One would think they would flee to a country where we don't have an extradition treaty in place though

Her hair was naturally curly and Brown, she never wore curls hence the straighteners.
How do you date dishes in a sink?

If you were going to bed, would you not tidy your hair dye up BEFORE brushing your teeth?
Would you bring someone out of the front of the house when you could bring them out the rear and then up or down the alley or into the rear of another house in Heworth Place?

Why would you go up Heworth Place to check the Coast was clear before bringing her out the front of the house-You would probably stand on the corner of Heworth Place / Road?

I see, l'm not aware of that- is it on the forum?
I'm sure that it was but I'm not going to go there as personally I thought that it was suggested by someone who wanted to divert our productive conversations.
I have always made my view very clear about this case.
I am on the same track as the police and it is a "Why" rather than a "who" done it.

If you view her house as an Ariel shot, the Kitchen and Bathroom for the more modern extension to the cottage-So-Were her slippers next to the front or rear door???
And were the slippers not ones that she never wore?????

Perhaps ones that she only went out to the rear garden in.

Good point re the hair dye (my favourite discussion point always :D). It stinks. So I would not leave it out in the bathroom across the landing in that small house. The chemical smell would infiltrate your sleep. Also, who colours their hair before bed? You'd have to wash it thro really well and then dry it until it was bone dry, other wise you'll ruin your bedding. If you did it in the afternoon, why not clear it up?

That's really poor and suspicious.
@Nikynoo
I never thought about that angle.
With someone who lived on their own and as well known to her line manager, you would expect them to find a non response to a call of concern as unusual.
We don't know what Claudia's work attendance history is like, we are told by her parents that it was good but was that just "Rose tinted specs?" Certainly if she doesn't turn in a second day running, you would definitely raise alarm bells. But what we know is that Suzy was the concerned friend.

If you were a friend and complicit, how much would it take to raise the alarm???

That's why Suzy is ruled out as anything other than a very caring friend in my view.

But what if her other "friends" The ones who hadn't seen her at the Nags since Sunday-What were they doing during this period.

Was Claudia's bedroom at the very back of the house?
"Claudia had two bedrooms upstairs in her house. She slept in the front bedroom where she also had a TV set.

In the back bedroom she had a spare bed, probably the room she used as a guest room and Jen Kings room when she lodged with her. In this room, she kept her sun bed".

Would the sun bed cast an Ultra Violet glow that could be seen from the rear of her house?

All of the above and more is covered in my Blog....:

I think they may well have done @Pinkizzy The confusion may well have come from them spreading these out on the toilet seat when they photographed them. Also if you leave them on the Loo seat it would make it difficult to go to the toilet.
