If arrested he would have been interviewed surly and why keep asking the public for a name ?
Did he admit it was him ?
They need someone to come forward and say-"It was him, he wasn't at x that night-Alibi blown"

@Yozzer and yes the braking car is described as arriving at c 05:42 but they footage is darker than alleyman seen at 05:07.
Given that both were shot on Globe 360 degree cctv camera (One in Limes Car Park and other on side of limes at Heworth Road) the imagery would be similar and its not.
I don't know if anyone has noticed but the footage from the other cctv cameras present at Limes of a different kind has never been relied upon in this enquiry?
Cameras that could offer a different angle perhaps and an extended view??
I have provided a full analysis of the cctv and cameras in my blog if anyone wants to look?

It’s being said he’s been identified.ok move on.can we have your dnd / finger prints so we can eliminate you from being in her house / car ?
But he had a good reason for in her house before if he was a friend

But he had a good reason for in her house before if he was a friend
So he’s given them (police ) a reasonable explanation as to his suspicious behaviour and to reasons for being there and time .
Him being there is not a crime
Now if the picture is clear enough and he has denied it’s him then they can have him for obstructing the law .

In that case even the enhanced picture is no where near clear enough

That's the problem @Popejohn3 The evidence didn't pass the 90% test

If this person existed and if for whatever reason they took pics of claudias things then I cannot think of a single reason they wouldn't go to the police, unless of course its all ********, I take it he didn't show anyone in the pub these pics then
I cannot see the pub crowd inventing the story ( and the person) of the missing rucksack, shoe and scarf?

I was interested in the first line of that article link which said 'The best friend of Claudia Lawrence has revealed that the missing chef was desperate for a holiday and had booked one just days before she vanished'. so could this confirm that the reason for her errand was indeed to pay the deposit for this holiday at the local travel agent on Heworth Road as I suggested earlier.
But obviously not because the travel agency would have confirmed this .

What crowd, one person wasn't it, never heard jk or susie mention it, they kept saying they thought she would turn up, not likely if her footwear and scarf amongst other things were found strewn about

Perhaps it went and "hid" in Nags Car Park or garage behind it and was taken away as scrap. You mention the bash in doorway. Was this car already destined for destruction but this time with a passenger on board? In the early days, police were looking for a missing person, not a body and they did miss searching the immediate area as they thought she had taken flight or had been kidnapped. Possibly because they knew she was part of a special operation and helping them unknowingly perhaps?[/QUOTE

Did I read somewhere that the ford focus seen braking on heworth road had a dent in it somewhere?
I didnt say there was a dent in the car I was asking for confirmation of what I thought I may have read somewhere was the case or not.
you replied ...It was either a dent or a taxi logo.
(I will disclose why I was asking for confirmation of a possible dent later as Im still looking into something)

Like so much else PJ it has not been confirmed or denied it but the article did state that a pal (Jen King) had said Claudia had booked a hol just days before she went missing They were both going so so JK would know. I understand from the article it was booked for Easter

I imagined the police and her father would have shown her photo to passers by and local shop employees and customers

I am referring to the word ‘we’ spoken by the landlord.we told him to take it up with the police.i imagine there would be loads of people in the NH going in for a drink trying to find out about Claudia.Would’nt be surprised if undercover cops were there too

Could be Easter 2009 was the same date as this year, Easter Sunday the 12th of April

If he was arrested and charged, they did as much as possible to nail him - just not enough for the CPS.

Im going through some of the cctv footage of the alleyman that the police released .. I found the quality of the video better on MajorLangs blog (its in the section where he is addressing the flashing light reflected in the window) so Im using that.
The police have always presented the man walking towards CL's alleyway and then returning some 1.5 mins later as the same man. But looking very closely at it I dont think it is, I think the man first appraoching the alley is an older man with a slight limp as he rounds the corner of the house you can see the limp is more pronounced, he doesnt appear to be wearing anything on his head.
The returning man appears to me to be a younger man a little slighter than the first man and walks brisker gait as a younger people tend to do he is carrying a rucksack and to my eye hes wearing a hoodie.
I believe the date of the cctv footage is 19th march 2009.. Is this younger male a neighbour who may even be a student at the college on his walk to college or work that morning and walks the journey every day, and if it is is he left handed hooded male smoker seen talking to CL on Melrosegate Bridge.

There was also confusion about who CL was going with, plus when and where the holiday would take place. The meeting with SC in the pub on Thurs 19th was to sort out a holiday to Greece. Meanwhile, we know she was discussing a holiday in Cyprus on the night of her disappearance (texting the builder guy SS in Coral Bay), but was struggling with the cost of flights. Yet after her disappearance, JK gave the impression she was going to Cyprus with her and it had been booked. Was this true or just a cover story to make it look like her and CL were 'close friends' at the time of her disappearance? How CL could afford all these holidays on a university chef's salary is beyond me.

Yes and perhaps they were baiting people to spark off a discussion. Or possibly just an attention seeker hoping a journalist would show him some interest.

The cost of holidays is reasonable to bring up
Also perhaps Cl wanted to surprise SS
