Im puzzled by David Oxer hes holding my attention at the moment. In the 10th Anniversary program of Claudias disappearance 'Missing or Murdered' details he now recalls some 10 years after Claudia's disappearance are aired.
On occassion he used to give Claudia lifts to work. I think that Claudia would have chatted about her car trouble at work after all if it was her usual mode of transport it would cause some inconvenience to her routine and it would only be considerate for her to say look my cars got engine trouble it has to go into the garage for repair so I'll be walking to work so may or may not be a little late.
I havent been able to find statement details from David Oxer so Im asking did he have a conversation like this with her.. did he offer her a lift which she declined. Did he advise her he would have given her a lift but for some reason he wouldnt be able to that day?
Quite frankly if I knew a female work colleague was going to walk to work at that time of the morning at that time of the year and I was travelling to the same workplace too I would definately try and persaude her to accept my offer of a lift.
It just doesnt sit right with me that of all the days he drives to work he says on that day he decides to take a different route!! WHY??
What are the details of route he did take?
Because even if Claudia had not accepted an offer of a lift from him if he had taken his usual route its likely at some point he could have seen her on her journey.
I would like to know if there are cctv camera's or other University staff travelling to work that saw him on his route to work that day and confirm he did take a different route.
Whichever scenario picking Claudia up or taking a different route he may still be able to arrive at work on time without causing suspicion.
I wonder if he had breaks that morning.. how long those breaks were . .and how far from the canteen was the dump site of the backpack.
Is it known what vehicle he usually drives and if he has access to any other vehicles.
It has crossed my mind that after his conversation with Claudia about her lack of sleep and her explanation for this he may have been a bit unhappy with her and so didnt offer her a lift and deliberately took a different route so if she was going to have another sleepless night with this man she could jolly well walk to work.
There is also the possibilty that there was no conversation about a sleepless night with a man and his disclosure all these years later is a red herring.. (It wouldnt be the first time a person has produced a story about a fictious man to take the heat off an uncomfortable line of questioning)
Is it possible given his reference to the banter that goes on in the kitchen it was all being done one way.. maybe he was doing all the bantering surmising the reason why she looked in his words so rough
