It's a credible theory, plenty of times you see the abductor/murderer send a text to family to buy more time with body disposal and stall the investigation starting, there was one on the Murder on CCTV tv show the other night.

I presume the last text "Claudia" ever sent on that evening has been analysed compared to her other texts to her Mum and others she regularly texted to see if it was in her usual style e.g. sometimes people don't use captials or full stops so interested if there were any discrepancies.

Certainly odd she didn't reply to that Cyprus text that came in around 9pm. Even if she was too tired in the evening, next morning seemed an obvious time. Unless she didn't get the chance by that point.

I think Claudia was being evasive with regards to holidaying in Cyprus ... we know she had booked a holiday with Jen but probably wanted to surprise Steve!

Another interesting tidbit from ‘Gone’. The regular at the NH who showed hostility towards CL. I wonder if this was a wife or a male she’d previously had relations with. Again, hope this person has been fully investigated, I’m sure they have?

Very early on in the investigation Galloway ( I believe) spoke of and wanted to know about the long telephone conversations Claudia was having from time to time with a woman from the midlands.
Would this be Rachael Martin's younger daughter ?
I’d be very surprised if his daughters are not on here !

Just looking at the CCTV of the silver car again and it really is going at some speed before it slams on the brake. Definitely breaking the speed limit, probably because it was early morning and there wasn’t much on the road. It really could be the case that this person hit Claudia and that’s when we see the brakes going on. Then in panic they’ve put the body in the boot. It’s not the most likely scenario but it’s definitely a theory worth considering.

^^ It could be. I don’t know much about AC and his involvement with CL though. All I know is he was arrested and 59 at the time.

On a side note this article written around the ten year anniversary last year is really interesting. Lots of pictures. I’m sure many of you will have seen it but definitely worth revisiting. The CCTV stills are excellent.

Sorry Rachael... Martin’s younger daughter who lived in Oxford
The girls were close to Claudia .She was their baby sitter and they thought she was glamours. The older one spent an hour driving around looking for her when she heard the news

Perhaps there was pressure from her new boyfriend not to go to Cyprus and him ( mystery boyfriend ) learning that he wasn’t her one and only after ball !

That has certainly been one of the theories, given the timing of texts and the silence thereafter.

1) Do any of you think Claudia is alive? Her parents speak of having a feeling she is. I definitely think she isn’t, sadly.

2) Have any of you visited the Nags Head? I was actually in York last year. I could’ve popped over to the Nags for a pint and a nose!
