I’m reading between the lines (no pun intended)

Would her friends really come out and say if they were using drugs? These days the stuff is everywhere and I see people not even trying to be discreet with it in toilets. Even 11 years ago it was a pretty popular party drug though as I recall.

For what’s it worth I happen to think that all drugs should be legal !

Regarding the black guy seen on the Co-op CCTV footage who said he had some info on the case, what's the situation with him? Was he found and cleared?

Regarding the black guy seen on the Co-op CCTV footage who said he had some info on the case, what's the situation with him? Was he found and cleared?

According to the NYP website he’s never been traced but I don’t see how?

That’s what I thought too. The footage is very clear if they were that desperate to find him you’d have thought it would have been done by now but I can’t find any update about it. I guess it’s possible being that they said he had an African accent that he was just in the country short term and has moved back abroad and that’s why they can’t locate him.

Of course it could be that he has absolutely nothing of use to offer anyway and just saw the story about Claudia on the front of the paper that day and decided to piggyback on it. Kind of odd that he would just tell random retail workers about it though. How did the subject even come up.

The man at Tang Hall Co op he told staff that he either knew or worked with Claudia. The Cold Case team do have a lead they are working on it but the recent murder in York has kept them busy. They have said they will get back to me with an update.

The local shops had her poster plastered everywhere - it was a very hot topic. Also, it's a newsagents and if you look at the pic, he has a newspaper in his hand.

2 questions for the sleuthers here!

1) Do any of you think Claudia is alive? Her parents speak of having a feeling she is. I definitely think she isn’t, sadly.

2) Have any of you visited the Nags Head? I was actually in York last year. I could’ve popped over to the Nags for a pint and a nose!

1) No. You see the odd case come up every decade where some monster has kept people kidnapped in basements for years but I doubt that is the case here or she's some sex slave.

2) I was going to go in March but lockdown put paid to that. Would've had my lunch in the Charles pub on York campus then walked the couple of miles to her road. Was interesting reading about people saying CCTV POI had a limp and someone on here said there was a slight camber on the pavement. Doubt I'd have called into the NH though, that would be a bit odd as so much of it would've changed in the 11 years aswell as surronding area.

Will be interesting if NH will survive post covid, plenty of pubs sadly won't.

We are clutching at straws here and liable to loose interest unless the police and or her close friends/ family throw us a bone !

It's going to be like the Suzy Lamplugh case I fear. Every year or so they'll be some sort of new lead that sounds promising but will ultimately lead to little.

In the Lamplugh case they have identified a very credible suspect but they can't find locate her body despite several tip offs over last decade (the last one was actually five minutes from where I live!) and according to John Cannan they never will.

Lamplugh's parents have both passed away now. Hope the Lawrences get some answers as to what happened to Claudia but both in their 70s now so not sure they will.

Im continuing looking at cctv footage and as usual found some interesting activity around the bus cam footage .. I cant understand why the police havent focused on it more..
Because of the speed of the bus poor light and bus windsreen its not easy to get clear images..
Clearly there was a group around the truck 2 I find interested but after multiple attempts I think Ive found something quite interesting.
Look very closely because I am sure that I could see 2 people in Claudias doorway,and when I zoomed in my opinion I can see the door is open and a woman with long hair wearing a white Tshirt stood in the doorway and another person possiblya woman wearing a light coloured top garment.
If this is Claudia and the the bus passed at approx 9.01pm then the reason she didnt reply to SS text was because she had a visitor!.
Ive attached the still its not brilliant but download load it and then zoom in slowly.. as always you will have to give your eyes time to focus.

Oh so they are still looking to speak with him then and he hasn’t already been located/interviewed?
I’m not sure what year they released those pictures of this man but I genuinely thought someone would have recognised him almost instantly, if they knew him.

I’ve been reading some interesting posts on REDDIT regarding this case today. One of the posts from last year someone says he heard a RUMOUR that someone who worked at the college had something to do with it. They said they wanted to stress that it was a rumour but sounds like it was quite a few people saying it. I suppose stuff like that could be chinese whispers though and easily spread.

Regarding claudia still being alive, I find it inconcievabie that someone who was supposedly that close to her parents would put them through over a decade of misery by dissapearing on purpose, and even if she had, the places she liked to visit, Cyprus, Cuba etc are so full of UK holidaymakers I don't find it remotely credible given all the publicity surrounding this case that someone wouldn't have recognised her and either photographed or filmed her on there mobile phone etc, also she was a good looking woman so I'm sure many men on holiday would have tried to chat her up
