You can find the Sky reporter Gerard Tubb's account of this on Donal MacIntyres documentary
I am pretty certain that Claudia was not liked in Malton for whatever reason and so she moved to Heworth where she was very popular amongst the older men at Nags Head and probably the Acomb.
Everyone who spoke of Claudia apart from police denied her promiscuous lifestyle but then how many people rarely talk badly of the dead.
We can't blame Claudia as a victim as death is a severe punishment for whatever she did but I'm sure she upset many and this resulted in her death.

enhanced from a you tube video of the cctv - I’ll find the link again but this is morning cctv mans face it would seem ...
@LuluR38 I'm seeing that as a side profile with head and body not a whole face (which is how it could be interpreted!). That's the problem with cctv.

They say most crimes are committed by someone who knew the victim and what did Claudia walk in on perhaps during her babysitting days?

Even if she had walked into anything as a teenager, why silence her after such a long time? Before she disappeared, she was in regular contact with both of her parents, I just can’t see what the motive could have been.

It’s a cliche, I know, but means, motive and opportunity are supposed to be the key to solving murders. The York people closed to her that we often discuss seem to tick all the boxes IMO.

I wonder, who blabbed about an intimate scene, CL had seen during her childhood/teenager years. Why was this ever a topic, which was chasing her until she had disappeared?

- which was why the police where checking the alleyway again

Could one of CL's previous lodgers have kept their keys to the house and I wonder if you could enter the house via a key at the back door?

re the man in charge of the crematoriums.....it could be that c had only recently started talking about him and that's why he may have. become angry

as for Malton...I. imagine its the kind of place where everybody thinks they know everybody's business and if she started flirting with married men...

this is becoming like murder on the orient express...sorry, shouldn't joke, but it does seem like an unholy alliance

Good shout. Or maybe they know that CL hid a spare key round the back under a brick or something in case of emergencies.

Good point and doesn't have to be an Irish connection.

Thats right not wishing to detract to much we havent explored in any detail the possibility of CL having a relationship with someone involved in equine circles.
Remember Cobweb her horse died.. was he buried or cremated?

@keep-it-real Wasn’t JK quoted to have said something about NYP “flogging a dead horse”? If anyone finds that article, could you please post the link here. Thank you very much.

Again, interesting language used by friends in this article (if those were their exact words). “Suzy said: "Although she was quiet, she wouldn't be bullied and would have put up a fight. That's why I think more than one person may have been involved - one to drive a vehicle and another to control Claudia." So she thought too that more than one person was involved...

But they were inferring ...then... if it was a stranger but most including police believe she knew them and went in the car willingly !

I dont disagree that there could be more person involved.. But one person could easily over come her and restrain her.. Hands tied etc.
With all planned abductions the abductor has an advantage usually the victim is taken unaware.
