I thought that the friends only answer to what happened is that they don't know.

in the end, I think the friends are the only ones who can help themselves.

we can try and find holes in existing stories and work out some things that happened but the police can't get anywhere without proof...they can't offer to cut a deal unless they know what crimes have been committed...was it contraband, drug. dealing, assisting murder or whatever.

whoever did it would do it again, at least under certain circumstances....its not just a case of we can't help claudia so we have to protect ourselves....there may have been or will be further victims....aside from victims of drug abuse, of course

A possible reason SC is reluctant to share and is defensive, as described, could be that she has been massively taken advantage of??. I imagine people over the years have targeted her/befriended her,,,potentially after lots of flowing wine ....and that she now doesnt know who to trust. That added to fear and her clear love of Claudia would amount to her being very guarded in my view!

These are my thoughts exactly.....WHY would you choose to be uncooperative when a very close friend has vanished into thin air!

I understand some of the Poi' s remain in the local area with their families but have always wondered why one now lives opposite Claudia's house,,,,why would anyone choose to live directly opposite her house??! I understand established communities and feeling settled in that area etc but living directly opposite must be like living in a time bubble, in the past, almost reliving the trauma of her disappearance and keeping it alive (so to speak). Why live there of all places??? This may be a comfort thing, such as we're here should she ever return, but for me it would be unthinkable to choose to see that green door every single time I looked out of my window, returned from work etc especially if I'd once lived in the property with Claudia and spent time with her there, laughing with her crying with her....for me this is a very strange choice.

I also find this odd. Unless, god forbid, CL ended up there... JMO

They appear to live quite a frugal lifestyle @FromGermany
The house and the suburb they live in is not salubrious at all, yet he is buying up property through his business and seems quite fixated about property in Heworth area along with some other big investments.
He will have a divorce settlement to contend with and has child(ren).
Whilst he stays low key, the police will be all over him. Like PH in AComB, who also has money.
It is probably difficult to trace this back to an illegitimate source.
jenniFeRANneKing will be on the receiving end of this wealth but I doubt she could just up sticks and go as without him she would be back to pulling pints and other things at the Nags Head.
Equally, I would be very surprised if she is not implicated or even Prime Perp. IMO.

We brought to Cold Case teams attention the flashing amber lights

Their first reaction was that they blandly stated that this had been investigated and that they did not believe this to be important.

We then pushed them and they checked further, they returned to say that upon further investigation it was the Streetlight above the house windows.

Simply put

They are not being honest yet they expect the public to be and if not it is classed as "Perverting the course of justice" which carries quite a long prison sentence.....!!!!!

They could have said:

"We are unable to comment, we are aware. thank you for bringing this to our attention. This information may be important evidence and is being preserved for a possible future prosecution."

I am responding to my post again because I would like someone from the media on here to pick this observation up and run with it-Unless of course the press have been served with a "D notice"
This case is either cut and dried and involves one or more of the 4 arrested or is a cover up.
It would be difficult to be anything else given the hard work and statements from Malyn.

So I'm not promoting a conspiracy theory but a factual possibility.

This case is either cut and dried and involves one or more of the 4 arrested or is a cover up.
It would be difficult to be anything else given the hard work and statements from Malyn.

@Popejohn3 It is more likely to assist in finding Claudia than your theory that you keep pushing of a Cuban in Hale that clearly the police have no interest in for their own very good reasons.

With respect to you too, if yes, then it opens up possibilities of a different motive. If no, then she is an emotional lady who hasn't got over the loss of a friend. Sorry if I touched a nerve, but the personal lives of individuals is the key to finding the murder/s. JMO but also speaking from experience.

I think you’ll find she has told the whole world she has not got over the loss of her friend .
